Spacious living within historic walls – Casa Marida awaits you in a former 12th-century church, situated in a wonderful panoramic hillside location in Pisciotta’s car-free, medieval centre.
From Casa Marida’s two balconies, you’ll enjoy a magnificent panoramic view stretching over the terracotta-colored roofs of Pisiciotta and the silvery-green shimmering olive groves all the way to the sea and the Cape of Palinuro. Inside the holiday rental, ceilings over 4 metres high and 100 square metres of living space create a spacious atmosphere.
AUTHENTIC, SOUTHERN ITALIAN VILLAGE LIFE AMIDST THE ALLEYS OF PISCIOTTA
The holiday rental is divided into a spacious living room with a dining area and access to a French balcony, a kitchen-diner with a built-in kitchen, two large bedrooms, and a bathroom.
The bedroom with a double bed also includes a cot for a toddler. In the second bedroom, which is a walk-through room, the two single beds can be converted into a double bed or a small sofa. This room opens onto a furnished south-facing balcony, from which you can enjoy an unobstructed view of the sea and the Cape of Palinuro. The bathroom, which includes a washing machine, is accessible via the kitchen.
As a small token of our appreciation, you’ll receive a small bottle of local olive oil made from Pisciotta olives, which the family of your host, Rosangela, has been producing themselves for years. The olive groves lie right before your eyes—just take a look from the balcony.
THE CHARM OF PISCIOTTA – OFF THE BEATEN PATH AND SEEMINGLY OUT OF TIME
Those visiting Pisciotta for the first time often feel as though time has stood still to some extent. This is what gives this small mountain village its special charm, where, nonetheless, a lively village life and a warm sense of community prevail in every season.
In addition, you’ll find everything you need for your holiday right here in town, just about 150–200 metres from Casa Marida: small supermarkets, a piazza with bars, restaurants, a pizzeria, and a newsstand, a produce vendor, a shop selling local seafood specialities (Alici di Menaica), and a car, bicycle, and scooter rental service.
BEACH VACATION – You can reach Marina di Pisciotta Beach either on foot via a path about 1 km long (partly stairs) or by car in just a few minutes. The beaches at Marina are not managed by a beach club. However, you can rent lounge chairs and umbrellas by the day on-site and choose the best spot on the long Acqua Bianca beach.
A boat trip along Pisciotta’s unspoiled, wild and romantic coastline with crystal-clear water offers a special (beach) experience. There are two boat rental companies at the marina’s harbour. A boat licence is not required for the small motorboats. Be sure to bring a camera on board to capture the beauty of the coast.
You can also reach the sea caves at Cape Palinuro and the Infreschi Marine Nature Reserve directly from Marina di Pisciotta via organised boat trips with local fishermen. You’ll find them right at the harbour as well.
GETTING THERE & PARKING – Public parking spaces are available on the outskirts of the town centre, about 200–300 metres from Casa Marida. The nearest car park is the multistorey car park just before Piazza Pinto. Additional parking areas are located beyond the town centre.
If you’d like to get around between the marina, the train station, and Pisciotta without a car, you can do so by taking Signor Nello’s Ape taxi (max. 3 people). The ride from Pisciotta to the Pisciotta train station, for example, costs starting at 10 euros per person (as of March 2023).
