Escape the stress of everyday life—our luxuriously furnished villa offers over 220 square meters of living space and is situated in a very quiet location on the edge of the Eifel National Park on a 2,200-square-meter lot featuring a sauna, fireplace, a whirlpool (heatable up to 40 degrees), and a playground in a peaceful setting. Pure relaxation :-)

The villa is situated in a quiet location in the small village of Keldenich, with approximately 800 residents, and features three bedrooms (the third bedroom has a sleeper sofa and a mattress topper, but no blackout curtains) for a total of 6 guests. For two additional guests, the apartment in the front part of the house is available; you’ll automatically book it when you request a reservation for 8 people. The living room with an open kitchen features a fireplace, a 65-inch Panasonic TV with satellite connection (the TV also includes an Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max. You can access Netflix using your own Amazon account [no Prime account required] and your own Netflix account), a piano with a silent function, underfloor heating, a balcony, a large adjoining Siematic kitchen with Gaggenau appliances, a large refrigerator, and a separate large freezer, along with an induction cooktop and a 300-degree Gaggenau oven, as well as a separate dining room. There is a large game room in the attic with a foosball table, games, books, etc., as well as a sauna area with a separate shower and restroom. Outside, a garden awaits you; it is entirely and exclusively at your disposal, featuring a garden shed, a wind-protected dining area with a dining table and chairs, a swing set, a hot tub, a large gas grill, and a private playground. There is a washing machine in the sauna basement. A laundry service is included, covering bed linens, bathrobes, hand towels, dish towels, as well as shower and sauna towels. A colorful collection of toys awaits our little guests in the playroom—though it has more of the charm of a well-lived family life than that of a toy catalog ;-). Since our youngest daughter is now all grown up, some of these toys have already had quite an “impressive career.” So it may happen that a horse no longer gallops quite as it should, a Barbie has a creative short hairstyle, or the toy store has developed a bit more of a sense of adventure than originally intended due to its age. Our young visitors usually enjoy the playroom with great enthusiasm—and occasionally with the energy of budding demolition contractors. Since we no longer play with these toys regularly ourselves, we sometimes don’t notice minor damage until later. We would therefore like to point out that the toys are not part of the rental property but are made available to our guests free of charge—as a sort of nostalgic bonus with an element of surprise.

Children ages 2 and up are welcome; please do not bring younger children, as the house has a marble staircase without child safety features. Additional guests may only be accommodated after consulting with us. No large-scale parties or events may be held; therefore, we generally rent to families rather than individuals.

Is the garden fenced in?
The garden is not completely fenced in; this would be unrealistic given its size of 2,200 square meters.

Is the hot tub available year-round?
Yes, our hot tub is available year-round and can be heated up to 40°C.

Will we have the villa to ourselves, even if we’re booking for 2 people?
The villa, garden, garden shed with grill, hot tub, and sauna are available for your exclusive use. We reserve the right to lock unused guest rooms, as we do not want any unannounced additional guests. In the front part of the house, there is an apartment that is also occasionally rented to guests, but without access to the garden, grill, or hot tub. Beyond that, you have free access to all rooms, including the laundry room and wine cellar (wine available for an additional fee).

Are there any additional costs?
You are responsible for any damage you cause.
A final cleaning is included in the price, but we ask that you leave the kitchen clean and the floors swept; otherwise, the cleaning company will charge an additional fee. Brooms and a vacuum cleaner are available on site.

Can I host a party at the property?
Yes, but please keep it moderate. The neighbors work and want peace and quiet at night. You should also keep in mind that the villa is furnished to the highest standards (cherry wood furniture, SieMatic kitchen, Italian tile flooring—it’s not a guesthouse or youth hostel!) and that, as the renter and the point of contact, you can be held fully liable for any damage caused, even beyond the security deposit. But no one has a problem with a family birthday party that goes on into the night, nor with guests chatting in the barbecue area until the early morning on the weekend. We just don’t want a group of young people jumping into the pool at night with a boombox and bellowing loud enough to be heard all the way to the village church.

Can I use the fireplace, and do I need to bring my own firewood?
The living room has underfloor heating, so it gets hot quickly in that room—you probably won’t want to use the fireplace. Candles and tree slices are placed in the fireplace for decoration (see photo). You are still welcome to use the fireplace—firewood is provided—but you are liable if you are unfamiliar with how to use a fireplace and, for example, close the vent flap while it’s in use (in which case the smoke will fill the room completely, but the fire cannot be extinguished, and repairs would be necessary).

I have small children and will take full responsibility myself; I’m aware that the stairs aren’t secured. Can we book?

Is the villa used exclusively as a vacation rental?
No, our family commutes between Cologne, Belgium, and the Eifel region; our children—who are now adults—enjoy using the villa to party with friends undisturbed or to take a wellness day. We parents use the villa to enjoy nature, go hiking, and unwind—sipping white wine in the hot tub, taking a sauna :-) The villa is fully furnished and not “bare” like a typical vacation rental—everything you need is here, so you don’t have to bring a lot of luggage. We trust our guests, and you can trust us, too.

Can I check in under a different name or address?
No, that’s not possible. The housekeeper is instructed to verify the information on your ID against the booking details at check-in. If they don’t match, check-in isn’t possible; the booking will be canceled, and the stated booking fees will be due.

What kind of beds are available?
