holiday home on Mühlenberg in Westerhausen with garage on the edge of the Harz
UOur holiday home is located in the municipality of Westerhausen, in the northern Harz foothills between the cities of Quedlinburg, Blankenburg, Halberstadt and Thale. Westerhausen has been a district of the city of Thale since 2010. In our town there is a beautiful outdoor swimming pool, a lovingly landscaped zoo, a local museum, and there is the Königstein and the Kuckuckklippe for climbing. The winemaker Mr. Kirmann offers a small attraction in our town. He grows wine, the vineyards belong to the Westerhausen wine-growing region and is embedded in forests and fields, the German half-timbered road crosses the community of Westerhausen. A direct connection to the A 36 in the direction of Bad Harzburg, Goslar, Braunschweig, Magdeburg, Halle and Leipzig offers the possibility of day trips to these beautiful, historic cities. A worthwhile excursion destination is of course the city of Thale with its beautiful Bodetal, the Hexentanzplatz and the Rosstrappe. In addition to Schuster's Rappen, the latter can also be reached by cable car or chairlift. A trip to the suspension bridge in the Harz, directly above the Rappbode Dam, which is one of the longest in the world, is very worthwhile. Here you can show your courage and simply walk across this bridge or you can be one of the brave ones and let yourself slide over the reservoir at a speed of 85 km with the help of a double rope slide approx. 1 km long. For the bravest, there is a pendulum jump in the middle of the bridge, where you go down about 65 m. The nearby beautiful half-timbered towns of Quedlinburg (5 km) (World Heritage Site) and Wernigerode (20 km) can be reached quickly. When the weather is good, you can see the highest mountain in our low mountain range from Westerhausen, the Brocken at 1141.2 m (also called Blocksberg). You are welcome to hike it or simply visit it with the Harz narrow-gauge railway. Become a hiking emperor with the Harz hiking pin in various levels of difficulty! After your excursions, you can relax in our lovingly designed holiday home. There are 2 bedrooms (a cot in the master bedroom), a living room, a dining room and a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom with shower and toilet and a guest toilet. On the spacious terrace, which can be reached from two sides, you can enjoy the view of our camel rock, the Lästerberg and the Harz foothills with a good glass of wine or have breakfast there in the summer months. A garage is also available for our guests who arrive by car.
