Meimbressen is located in the “Grimm Heimat Nordhessen” region, surrounded by beautiful landscapes, just five minutes from the unique Dörnberg—which invites you to explore nature—and 20 minutes from Kassel, the city of Documenta, which holds two UNESCO World Heritage titles and boasts one of the highest densities of museums in Germany. You can experience this especially well during Museum Night, which takes place every year in September. The region offers a variety of hiking trails, such as the eco-trails, where you can discover the region’s nature and history. Sports enthusiasts will also find plenty to enjoy: water sports on rivers and lakes, extensive biking and hiking trails, ski slopes, and much more are waiting to be discovered. For swimming, the Calden Forest Swimming Pool and the Bühl in Ahnatal are nearby as natural swimming lakes.
