About this property
Modern Tiny Cabin on 28 Acres w/Clear Creek & Swimming Hole
Escape to Twelve Mile Cabin Co., a luxury tiny cabin surrounded by 28 private acres in the Missouri Ozarks. With approximately 1,000 feet of frontage along clear Twelve Mile Creek, a private swimming hole, an extra-wide gravel bar, wooded trails, and peaceful outdoor spaces, this is a place to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy a little adventure.
PLEASE READ: GETTING HERE IS PART OF THE ADVENTURE
Twelve Mile Cabin Co. is intentionally off the beaten path, and the final stretch of the drive can be challenging. After leaving the paved road, guests will travel along a rugged gravel road that requires a high-clearance AWD or 4WD vehicle. A standard car, minivan, or low-clearance SUV is not suitable for accessing the property.
We strongly recommend arriving during daylight so you can more easily navigate the road and spot the turnoff. Detailed turn-by-turn directions will be provided before your stay. Weather, fallen trees, and seasonal conditions can occasionally affect access, so please consider both your vehicle and your comfort with rural driving before booking.
It may be a little harder to reach, but that is part of what makes Twelve Mile Cabin Co. feel like a true escape.
THE CABIN
Twelve-Mile Cabin was thoughtfully designed to make its small footprint feel comfortable, stylish, and complete. The cabin includes one private bedroom, a full bathroom with soaking tub and separate shower, a well-equipped kitchen, a cozy living area with a pullout sofa, and a spacious deck overlooking the woods, complete with an outdoor shower.
Inside, you’ll find:
• A private bedroom with comfortable linens
• A pullout sofa for additional guests
• A full kitchen with an induction cooktop and convection microwave
• High-speed Starlink internet
• A washer and dryer
• A record player, Bluetooth speaker, books, and board games
• Heating and air conditioning
• Fresh well water
OUTDOOR ADVENTURE
Spend your days swimming, wading, floating, or relaxing beside Twelve Mile Creek. Watch for wildlife, enjoy coffee on the porch, or gather around the fire pit beneath a sky full of stars.
The property’s extra-wide gravel bar offers plenty of room to spread out beside the creek, enjoy a campfire, or spend an afternoon with no particular plans.
A SECLUDED HOME BASE
Twelve Mile Cabin Co. feels wonderfully secluded while still placing you within driving distance of some of southeastern Missouri’s most beautiful outdoor destinations. Castor River Shut-Ins, Amidon Memorial Conservation Area, Silver Mines Recreation Area, Millstream Gardens, and Elephant Rocks State Park are all within reach for a day of hiking and exploring.
GOOD TO KNOW
This is a remote, natural property rather than a traditional neighborhood vacation rental. Guests should expect wildlife, insects, uneven terrain, limited cell service, and changing outdoor conditions. Starlink internet is available at the cabin.
Again, a high-clearance AWD or 4WD vehicle is required to reach the cabin. Please do not book with plans to arrive in a low-clearance or two-wheel-drive vehicle.
Whether you visit Twelve Mile Cabin Co. for outdoor adventure or simply to catch your breath, we hope your days begin slowly with coffee on the porch, disappear into the creek, and end around the fire beneath the stars. Most of all, we hope you leave feeling more connected to nature, to the people you’re with, and to yourself.

Very good

Place is great. Only thing I would recommend is a nightfold if you are sensitive to light when you sleep. The temperature read out on the air units is always lit and the windows don’t have blinds to block out the morning sun so if those things bother you, bring a nightfold. Bring honey for your tea and creamer for your coffee but they have nearly everything else. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for staying with us and for the thoughtful, constructive feedback! We’ll stock honey and creamer and install blinds in the bedroom to make sleeping in a little easier. We’re so glad you enjoyed your stay and would love to welcome you back!

Your host
Hi, We’re the Reichelt family! We love traveling, exploring new places, and finding adventures together, especially when they involve hiking, swimming, or time outdoors.
We created Twelve-Mile Cabin as a place for our family to slow down, unplug, and make memories. We’re excited to share it with guests who appreciate nature, adventure, and the simple joy of spending meaningful time together. We hope you feel at home here and enjoy the property as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
We chose this area because it feels peaceful, private, and wonderfully removed from everyday life. Twelve-Mile Creek immediately drew us in with its clear water, gravel bars, swimming holes, and beautiful wooded surroundings.
Although the cabin feels secluded on its 28 private acres, it is also close to some of southeastern Missouri’s best outdoor destinations, including Castor River Shut-Ins, Amidon Memorial Conservation Area, Silver Mines, Millstream Gardens, and Elephant Rocks State Park. We love that guests can spend the day exploring or simply stay on the property, wander the trails, play in the creek, and enjoy the quiet.
What makes this property unique
Twelve-Mile Cabin offers a rare combination of privacy, outdoor adventure, and thoughtful comfort. Guests have 28 acres entirely to themselves, with direct creek access, a swimming hole, and plenty of space to explore.
The cabin may be tiny, but it never feels lacking. Every square foot was intentionally designed, with a full kitchen, stylish finishes, comfortable sleeping spaces, modern conveniences, and a covered deck that makes the outdoors feel like part of the home. It’s an intimate, beautifully designed retreat where guests can enjoy a genuine connection to nature without giving up comfort.
