The small community of Grabowhöfe is located in the immediate vicinity of Mecklenburg’s largest lakes, near Waren an der Müritz, a town that charms visitors with its well-preserved and lovingly restored old town. A holiday rental in tranquil Grabowhöfe thus offers travellers the peace and connection to nature of a true countryside getaway, while remaining close to the Mecklenburg Lake District and interesting cultural landmarks.


In addition to the eponymous district of Grabowhöfe, the municipality—with a population of just over 1,300—includes six other districts. Most of these districts feature holiday homes that offer travellers affordable and personalised accommodation. Those interested in architecture should plan a visit to the village church in Sommerstorf and the church in Vielist: these buildings demonstrate that the Brick Gothic style, characteristic of northern Germany, was creatively expressed not only in the monumental structures of the Hanseatic cities but also in rural communities. Those with a passion for ancient history, on the other hand, can discover a Bronze Age burial mound in the district of Louisenfeld and a 10th-century castle rampart at Grabowhöfe, dating back to a time when the region was already inhabited by Slavic peoples. Incidentally, this is also the origin of the municipality’s name, which derives from the Slavic term “Grabow”—meaning “place of hornbeams”—and was supplemented in the 18th century with the suffix “Höfe” to distinguish it from other settlements bearing the same name. Grabowhöfe is situated directly between the rolling hills of Mecklenburg Switzerland and the extensive network of waterways in the Mecklenburg Lake District. Large parts of the surrounding landscape are part of the nature park, which spans more than 600 square kilometres and includes not only pristine natural landscapes and rare wildlife but also the picturesque grounds of old manor houses and castles.

You and your pets are warmly welcome in this spacious, family-friendly holiday rental, which features a fenced-in garden, a terrace, a fireplace, a sauna, a hot tub, a parking space, and storage for bicycles.

On the ground floor is the spacious kitchen-diner with a dining table, fireplace, cosy sitting area, and large TV screen. From here, you can step out onto the outdoor terrace with patio furniture and a grill, and into our spacious, natural garden with lawns, fruit trees, and a small playground. 

You can get fresh eggs from our chickens, and children from the stork that lives on our farm in the summer. Neither is guaranteed. The apartment has three bedrooms on the upper floors.
