This modern 80-square-meter holiday apartment is housed in the former barn of the historic Esamble. The light-filled apartment is located on the ground floor; its ceiling height of approximately 2.80 metres and floor-to-ceiling windows give it a special atmosphere. In addition to a bedroom with a double bed (1.80 m x 2.00 m) and an extra bench that can also be used as a desk, there is a slightly smaller bedroom with a French bed (1.60 m x 2.00 m). The open, fully equipped kitchen—featuring a stove, dishwasher, refrigerator with freezer compartment, toaster, coffee maker, and electric kettle—is bright and features a large skylight. A dining table with seating for four invites you to linger comfortably. Those seeking a bit of peace and quiet on the couch can enjoy a view of the balcony. The balcony invites you to listen to the cheerful chirping of the birds and enjoy a good glass of wine. The bathroom, flooded with natural light, features a spacious, walk-in shower, a sink, a toilet, and an illuminated mirror cabinet. Towels and a hair dryer are also provided. The property, lovingly renovated, was completed in 2023. The historic vaulted cellar and foundation walls date back to 1561, as indicated by the inscription in the archway. It was important to the owners to preserve the old walls as much as possible. Thus, a residential house was built on top of the ground-level cellar, and the former barn was converted into a holiday rental. Upon stepping through the historic gate, your gaze is immediately drawn to the tranquil inner courtyard. It is framed by the two buildings, which are connected by an impressive arched walkway along the outer wall. The shell limestone formation of the Benediktusberg forms the back wall of the wind-sheltered courtyard. The resulting complex, “Haus der Weinfreunde,” is located in the old town of Retzbach, at the foot of the adjacent Benediktusberg. Check-in is available from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Check-out is due by 11:00 AM. Other check-in and check-out times are possible upon request. Keys are handed over in person on site or via a key safe. Pets are not allowed. The base price includes bed linens, towels, final cleaning, and Wi-Fi.
