Just 42 steps from the beach, this 1957 beach cottage was recently remodeled to its original charm with hardwood floors and gabled ceilings. Kitchen has been updated with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. For the cooking enthusiast the kitchen is fully stocked with coffee maker, blender, toaster, full set of pots and pans, bake ware, utensils, dishes and glassware. The cottage is complete with linens, towels, beach towels, and hair dryer. The spacious front patio is furnished with a sofa, table for 6, two market umbrellas, gas BBQ and fire pit-the perfect place to enjoy your morning cup of coffee, read a book or enjoy a casual BBQ. Full size washer and dryer located in the 2 car garage.

We loved staying here! Very cute Property. Had everything we needed. Literally steps from the beach, and not far from the bay. The front patio was enjoyable, with plenty of places to relax, and places to eat was a short walk away. It was a great place to stay for our family of four.

All photos and descriptions were accurate. Small but utterly charming except for driftwood crucifix over bedroom door.Sadly, during the day the porch is unusable due to departing jets from San Diego International Airport. At night acrid smoke from trash being burnt on beach was thick enough to appear as fog. This continued all night in spite of sign saying no fires after midnight.We stayed for only the first night out of a week reserved. No refund offered.

Pros: Great location, quiet South Mission beach neighborhood easy access to beach/bay. 15 min walk to Belmont park. Wonderful patio that we spent most of our time on enjoying the weather with working fire pit. Clean residence with adequate beach supplies (chairs, toys for kids, bikes, towels). Ronnie was very easy to get a hold of.Cons: Low flying LOUD airliners throughout the day and night. Usually over by 11:00pm, might be difficult if you have little ones or are sensitive to loud noises. The irony being there is a strict no noise policy after 10pm. Garage door opener listed but upon inquiring found out it was not available SO makes leaving or going anywhere slightly inconvenient Being that it is South Mission Beach it is a trek to get to any eateries/shops (again 15 minute walk). Kitchen was a little scarce, only had salt (not a big deal but if you're expecting a full spice rack bring what you need). Overall: Lovely place, fantastic relaxing patio with easy access to the beach/bay

Great Stay in South Mission Beach

We have been coming to South Mission Beach for over 10 years now and have probably stayed at 8 or 9 different places. This was one of our favorites. The front Patio area is by far the best we have had and the owners were wonderful hosts.

Absolutely amazing place to stay in Mission Beach…what a find! I’ve stayed at rentals all over the USA, particularly ones at the beach and I’ve never enjoyed one as much as this one. The patio is simply amazing, the house is super cute, clean and well maintained. The garage was an huge bonus and it was loaded with high quality beach gear, bikes, boards, chairs, umbrellas, smash ball paddles…it had everything one might want or need. I’ll be back for sure!

We welcome you to our 1957 charming beach cottage and hope you enjoy your stay. Recently remodeled to its original charm, updated for your convenience and comfort. Our court has a unique ambiance and is considered one of the most desirable in south Mission Beach.

Why they chose this property

We had been renting in north Mission Beach for the past 13 summers and enjoyed each summer with our daughters. We found our cottage on VRBO three years ago for a long weekend and saw great potential. I kept in contact with the owner on the chance that it might be put on the market. And it did! Our court is truly one of the most desirable courts in south Mission Beach. We have wonderful full-time neighbors!
