When we arrived we struggled with finding the key to enter. The book in the apartment had exact description with pictures on how to check in. It would have been helpful to have this in an email. Upon entering the apartment we found that it had not been cleaned from the previous occupant. The beds looked slept on, there was trash in the kitchen and bathrooms, dirty laundry by the washer, and crumbs under the dining table. We spend several hours cleaning the place and washing the bedding and did not get to bed until 3:00pm. We tried to contact the host and VRBO with no answer.

Dear Jutta,
Thank you very much for your detailed feedback on your stay at our FeWo Wohlleben Petrus VI holiday apartment. It's nice to see how much attention to detail you've put into describing your impressions – we really appreciate it.
We actually automatically send a check-in email three days before your arrival with all the relevant information, including illustrated instructions for accessing the keys. Apparently, this email unfortunately got lost in your inbox – perhaps it ended up in your spam folder as an unwanted visitor. Too bad – then you could have saved yourself the evening search for the keys and the stress.
Regarding cleanliness: According to our cleaning team, the apartment was completely cleaned again the following day under observation. We are sincerely sorry that something wasn't right upon your arrival – even though we didn't receive a direct message on the emergency number provided in the apartment (or in the check-in email) either before or during your stay.
What did make us smile a little: During the final cleaning after your departure, it looked as if a football team had checked in at the same time. The number of used towels was record-breaking – respect!
Despite everything, we tried to ensure you and your family had a pleasant stay – and hope that you will have fond memories of Trier.
Best regards,
Your team at
FeWo Wohlleben Petrus VI
