About this property

Tipperary Point: Gated Peninsula, Stunning Sunsets, Lake Wisconsin

There's Lakefront. And Then There's Tipperary Point.
Most lake rentals put you within arm's reach of your neighbors. You can hear their conversations, smell their grills, see their docks lined up like parking spaces. Tipperary Point is different.
Tipperary Point sits on a private, gated peninsula jutting into Lake Wisconsin — 4.5 acres of land, wrapped by water on three sides, with over 1,000 feet of shoreline. To put that in perspective, most lake rentals have 100 feet. Shaded by mature trees and set well back from neighboring properties, the cabin itself feels wonderfully secluded — far more so than the typical lake rental. You can sit in complete quiet and watch the water. This is the rare kind of lake property that feels like it belongs to another era — because in many ways, it does. Our family discovered Tipperary Point in 1979, and we've been protecting and loving it ever since.
Sunrise and Sunset — From the Same Chair
Because the peninsula extends out into the lake, you have open water views in nearly every direction. Watch the sun rise over the water in the morning. Watch it set over the water that same evening. No repositioning, no walking to the other side of the house — just you, the lake, and the sky doing something extraordinary twice a day.
The Cabin
This rustic Norwegian-style log cabin is warm, comfortable, and built for a proper lake week. Step inside to soaring cathedral ceilings with exposed beams, a classic stone fireplace, and an open-concept design that feels generous and alive — the kind of space that makes you exhale the moment you walk in. Three bedrooms sleep up to 8 guests, plus a futon on the screened three-season porch for those who want to fall asleep to the sound of the water. Bedroom 1: Queen bed. Bedroom 2: Queen bed. Bedroom 3: Bunk beds, perfect for kids. Three-season porch: Futon, sleeps 1-2. Fully equipped with a nicely furnished kitchen, washer and dryer, WiFi, and ceiling fans in every room. Please note: the cabin is heated but does not have air conditioning. Lake breezes and fans keep things comfortable throughout the summer.
Perfect for Families with Young Kids
This is where Tipperary Point truly stands apart. Over 40 years ago, the family carved out a protected sandy lagoon along the shoreline — zero-entry, open to the lake, calm and shallow, perfect for little ones who aren't ready for deep water. It's the kind of thoughtful feature that takes decades to build and can't be replicated overnight. Right alongside it, a full Rainbow Play System — slides, swings, climbing wall and more — gives kids their own destination from the moment you arrive. Parents can relax at the water's edge while the kids play safely in the lagoon or on the playground. There is simply no comparable family setup on Lake Wisconsin.
Room to Roam
You're not renting a cabin on a postage-stamp lot — you're getting a wooded, waterfront peninsula, gated and entirely your own for the duration of your stay. Plenty of space for lawn games, hammocks between the trees, kids exploring the shoreline, or simply finding a quiet corner to disappear into with a book.
The Waterfront
With water surrounding the peninsula on three sides, you're never far from the lake. The property has far more elbow room than a typical lake rental — you'll see neighboring docks on the water, but the cabin and grounds feel genuinely set apart. A private dock extends into the calm water for fishing and swimming. Take the paddleboat out for a morning tour around the point, or let the kids spend the entire day between the lagoon and the dock. Lake Wisconsin offers over 20 miles to explore by boat. A nearby public launch accommodates guests trailering their own watercraft.
The Fishing
Lake Wisconsin is serious smallmouth bass country, and Tipperary Point puts you right in the middle of it. Guests consistently rave about the fishing — kids and adults alike. "The perfect spot to collect our thoughts, spend time with family and catch some MONSTER small mouth!" "There is a lucky hot spot that our littles were excited to find."
Evenings at Tipperary Point
As the light fades, gather around the fire pit — firewood provided — and watch the stars emerge over the water. Grill dinner on the gas grill, let the fire burn down slowly, and experience the kind of quiet that only comes from being genuinely away from it all. Just the lake, the fire, and your people.
The Location
Tucked in south-central Wisconsin, Tipperary Point gives you seclusion without isolation. You're within easy reach of the region's best — but you'll find yourself wanting to stay put. Wisconsin Dells — 30 min. Madison — 35 min. Devil's Lake State Park — 30 min. Gibraltar Rock State Natural Area — 15 min. Wollersheim Winery — 20 min. Kalahari Indoor Waterpark — 26 min.

A Note from Our Family
Tipperary Point has been in our family since 1979. It came to us as something special, and we've worked hard to keep it that way — maintaining the privacy, the trees, the quiet that makes this place unlike anything else on the lake. We opened it to guests because we genuinely believe everyone deserves a week somewhere like this. We're hands-on owners who care about your experience. If you need anything during your stay, we're always reachable.

We had an excellent stay at this cabin. The property exceeded our expectations, it was secluded with lake views from every angle. Swimming off the pier was awesome and we had great sunset views each night. The cabin was also very nice and perfect for our group.

Love Tipperary Point

This is our third stay at Tipperary Point and they just keep getting better. The property is so isolated and beautiful. The lake water is warm and relatively shallow which is nice with young children. We can’t wait to go back.

Beautiful property

Beautiful, private property. Plenty of room, with everything we needed. Great for families with small children. The shallow water, play set and toys, books & drawing supplies were a big hit. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Tipperary Point

This was our 3rd time here and it's always a perfect get-away on Tipperary Point. We really enjoy the feeling of privacy, as though you're on a secluded island at this property. Great scenery and the house has the feel of an "Up North" cabin. We will be back again next summer.

Amazing Propery

For the past 10 years I have been bringing my kids back to Wisconsin for my family to come stay with us on our family vacation at a lake house. For the last 3 years we have booked this amazing property and have reserved it again next year. Really cool cabin on amazing property.

We have stayed here several times and have always enjoyed ourselves. The heat was a little uncomfortable without A/C and there is a major ant issue in the kitchen area.

We loved our stay!

We absolutely loved our stay at this lovely cabin! We purposely chose this property for its cabin-like feel and amazing location, and it delivered! Water views wrap around the house, the grounds are well kept, the trees are mature, and the sunsets are spectacular. The inside amenities accommodated our group. We had everything we needed for meals and hang out time. Such a pleasure!

Four Generation Family Time

Large private property in an amazing location with water on 3 sides. Enjoyed water views from inside house from all rooms. House is well equipped for family fun and welcome basket was a nice touch. Grandkids enjoyed the play set and use of paddle boat. Would like to return when weather conditions were better for more water activities.

Loved it (again)

I've stayed at this property several times. The location can't be beat. Water essentially surrounds the property. Perfect place for adults and kids. Very nice house. Plenty of seating. Beautiful location for a fire pit, right on the water at the tip of the peninsula/point. Extremely private. We'll be back.

Wow!

What a great place to spend Memorial Day weekend!! The house was more spacious than we expected and was stocked with everything we could possible need. The property and the house in real life exceeded the photos!! We were afraid it would be a struggle with just one bathroom, but it really wasn't at all. Everyone in our group was very impressed and loved it!! Thanks for offering such a great place to stay!

Family Weekend

We just returned from a long weekend at the Lakeside Retreat. The location of this home cannot be beat. There is water on 3 sides and it’s completely private, which was amazing. The house is a true “cabin”. It’s very cozy and has all of the things you need. The beds were comfy and we enjoyed the large deck and screened in porch. The only downside was that there was no AC. It was 90 degrees and even with fans the house was HOT. I’m sure in the spring or fall though it would be outstanding.

Location, Location...

We've stayed here several times. The house is simple. It has everything you need - kitchen, grill, deck, chairs, fire pit, etc. The only thing we tend to long is A/C, mainly to regulate the humidity a little. Clothes, pillows, etc. get a little musty by day three. We keep coming back for the perfect location. The location on the peninsula is too good to be true really. You see water out of every window in the home. It's like you're on an island. Great location for the fire pit right at the tip of the peninsula. Thanks again for another great stay.

Relaxing

My family ranges from 4 to 65 and we all had a fun time. The location is so peaceful we never head another person. The boys loved playing in the lake both at the dock and sand pile area. We never needed bug repellent as the breeze kept them away. The property was clean and updated. We had a wonderful time having Nerf gun fights with the boys, they especially enjoyed ambushing us from the top bunk opening towards the living room The 3 season room gave us the extra space needed for the boys to do puzzles and jump around (we removed several pieces of furniture to a safe location). My only suggestion would be to have another large frying pan and restock the first aide kit (fortunately I had a kit in my car to patch up the 4 year old).I will certainly consider vacationing there again.Thank you for sharing your home.

Location is the main draw

Communication with Pete was great. The pictures were as advertised. The location, as mentioned was why this place rocks. I mean every sunset is just so pretty. The gift basket was a nice touch. The bathroom was sufficient. But I would say that the owners need to at least put some clarifications n the listing description. Kitchen says remodeled but doesn’t mention no water pressure, no disposal, no cabinet space for food and no dishwasher. It was very hard to find clean dishes from below or a spot to put all the food we brought in. Other piece of advice is the word “rustic” should be used in listing. We caught a live mouse in our room, there are spider webs everywhere and it’s just generally pretty rustic. Lighting was poor, fans old, no ceilings in rooms should be mentioned for guests with small kids because it was hard to sleep until the entire cabin went to bed. Overall a nice stay with beautiful views. I just think the listing description should be a touch more accurate so we know what to expect.

Quiet, Wonderful Outdoor Space, Rustic Lake Cottage, Live in Your Swimsuit All Weekend

This was our second stay at this property. Four adults and two teenagers. We booked it again because it's at the very end of a small point, so very private and quiet. We saw bald eagles, cranes, and herons. The owner is very responsive, the place is comfortable very well stocked with the basics, including life jackets, noodle floats, kitchen tools, linens and towels. Wonderful swimming and fishing right off the dock or off the point. Our teenagers could be found casting for bass and northerns in their jammies at 7am each morning until they were hungry enough to come in and eat. There are plenty of books and board games and the WiFI is capable of handling multiple concurrent zoom calls if you are in a "work from vacation" situation. Be prepared for a rustic lake cottage stay: no AC but effective ceiling and floor fans. If it's super buggy at night, bring your own small fan and extension cord and you can keep the bugs away. We had a little trouble getting the washing machine to cooperate, but figured it out. The place could benefit from floor lamps and/or soft white bulbs, but this also adds to the charm somehow. Due to the river feeding the lake, there is a strong current and wonderful breezes, but keep an eye on any young kids on floatation devices. This is worth the price, especially if you grew up enjoying lake cabins/cottages but now only get to do it once every few years. Highly recommend.

A Family Legacy Since 1979

The Point has been part of our family since 1979. Although our father is no longer with us, the cabin and surrounding land are still lovingly owned and managed by my mother, brother, and me.

Growing up, we spent countless summer days down by the lake—playing, swimming, and making unforgettable memories by the dock. Now, we've continued that tradition with our own families, and it brings us joy to share this special place with others so they too can create lasting memories of their own.

What makes this property unique

Tipperary Point is truly one-of-a-kind. Situated on a gated peninsula and surrounded by water on three sides, it offers over 1,000 feet of shoreline and the rare ability to watch both sunrise and sunset from the same spot. It feels like your own private island—peaceful, secluded, and far from the crowds.

What makes it even more special is the history behind it. This cabin has been in our family since 1979, and we’ve poured generations of care into preserving its rustic charm while ensuring it’s comfortable and welcoming. The Norwegian-style log cabin, cozy furnishings, and three-season porch provide a warm, nostalgic atmosphere, while the beach, lagoon, and play system create an ideal setting for families to unwind and connect.

This isn’t just a vacation rental—it’s a place where memories are made.
