Had a great time the home was very nice
Big sand pit for the kids
The deck and yard could use some work could not see the kids on the pier due to the overgrown vegetation along the waterfront
We really enjoyed our stay on green lake. Beautiful weather and nothing beats a house on the water. Fishing off the dock with boat rentals a few minute drive away. Kraig was easy to work with. The decor is a bit dated with older furniture, beds, etc. All in all, we would absolutely stay here again.

Disappointed stay
This property is very dated and had little to offer. We were instructed to bring our own linens including sheets and towels. We have stayed in many VRBO properties in the past that were well stocked. We questioned upon returning home if those in our party had been exposed to bed bugs. There are much nicer homes in this area to choose from.
Our family had a spectacular week at this beautiful late cottage! It's a great lake for boating and water skiing, located on a quiet country road. The cottage is very spacious and comfortable. There is a moderate ant infestation, as we saw large ants in the kitchen as well as in the upstairs bedroom. Overall, I would recommend this property to families looking for a lake getaway!
We spent an extended memorial day weekend at the house and had a great time. The house is definitely bare-bones which I believe is well represented in the photos but it was perfect for us and priced more affordably than some of the more updated and larger houses. The location was ideal for us - we biked around the neighborhood and it was close to everything. The kids loved the sandbox in the backyard. We met both neighbors who were very nice. I even caught some fish off the pier. Great home.
This is a lovely cabin on Green Lake. The property is neat and level to the lake. The owner checked in with us shortly after we arrived and was very accessible. The cabin had plenty of room for all of our family to play games and sit inside or outside on the deck. The pier could use an upgrade but it served its purpose. There was sand in the backyard that the neighbor kids came and played in - not a problem but the neighbor was not friendly or responsive. The view was wonderful! The kitchen had everything we needed. The bedrooms upstairs served their purpose, but the third bedroom is a bed at the top of the stairs with a curtain around it. Not a problem for my crew but not a lot of privacy. The family with the baby had a separate room with privacy. The washer and dryer on premises was wonderful. Overall, we had a fabulous time and I would highly recommend this property.
We enjoyed our stay at the house, which is well set up to accommodate a large family group. We all particularly enjoyed the decor which repeatedly reminded us of our 1970’s youth. Unfortunately, this late in the year, the weeds off the pier prevented any swimming. We did do a lot of boating and appreciated having the boat lift! Kraig was readily available by text or phone although we did not have need of anything during our stay.
The cottage is located in a quiet neighborhood with very nice neighbors. It is only a 10 minute drive to the quaint town of Green Lake. The cottage road is great for walking and biking.
It is a rustic cottage. Communications with the owner were easy with quick responses. The dock and boat lift should be upgraded to accommodate today's watercraft.
This is a nice, very spacious older house w/older furnishing in a beautiful setting. We were a family of 6 adults and 5 teenagers and especially enjoyed the extra-large kitchen, large dining/deck tables (game playing) and the huge lake view windows.
Things that would have improved our stay would be an additional air conditioner (upper level for hot nites) and more than one TV. The dock is not a stationary dock. We offshore anchored two power boats. A storm can put anchored boats at risk which is stressful.
The owner had issues with the dryer at our arrival and tried hard to get that service working for us. Luckily, we had a clothesline and pins to handle all the towels required for constant water activities. Any of our questions or concerns always brought immediate responses.
Big Green is a very large, deep lake and provides enuf room for all activities. The lawn and huge deck (many chairs) areas are nicely shaded allowing for personal sun choices. There is a slight slant on the lot, but it was possible to set up lawn games. The lot has a big lawn sand box area that even got some activity from our teens and neighboring kids (who were not always supervised and caused some concerns with our dogs), but we could opt to ask them to leave. Nice neighbors.
I can still hear the lapping waves and miss that sound. Very beautiful place to spend some time.
What a great cottage on the lake. So peaceful, plenty of room for a lot of people to sweep. Great kitchen and bathrooms. We loved our stay and could not get enough of the lake view!
This is a great family place. We had 6 adults, 2 teens, and three dogs. Plenty of room for everyone. Used the kayak, and there was also a canoe. Wonderful deck looking out to the lake.
Our family had a great time at the cottage! There was space for everyone to sleep, plenty of seating for playing games or chatting in the living room, and the kids loved the sand pit! We enjoyed sitting out on the deck and being able run right down and jump off the dock. We made good use of the fire pit and the canoe and kayak provided. We enjoyed fishing off of the dock and from the canoe out in the lake. Make sure to bring plenty of bug spray and sun tan lotion! Our family also enjoyed the proximity to the small towns around the lake and did some shopping and wine tasting. The owner was easily accessible for any questions we had about our stay there. Overall we had a very enjoyable experience and will hopefully return in the future.
Great cabin, lots of space, perfect for large family
The cabin worked well for our group of 11 (6 adults, 5 kids and 1 older dog). We loved the cabin atmosphere and it was very clean inside. The main floor has lots of room with hardwood floor, lots of sitting area, 1 bedroom, 3 pull out couches, 2 full baths. The upstairs had 3 bedrooms (did have low ceiling but not an issue for us). There are window air conditioning units on each floor that worked well even in a high heat index summer. The kitchen had everything we needed and worked well. TV had satellite, but we didnt watch much. Parking for 3 vehicles. Deck is huge, lots of chairs, huge sand pit with lots of toys to play with. Pier with bench. We did rent a pontoon from Pierless and they required a boat lift (not provided) to keep it overnight, but we just picked up and dropped off for 5 days. The algae was really bad on swimming area, but we didn't clear too much to swim (brought a swimming pool for littles). Shopping was easily accessible for groceries. Overall, we loved the cabin feel, open space and access to our own pier on the property. The owners were immediately responsive to our questions and requests. Loved we could bring our dog, the sand pit was a definite highlight for all the kids. Great rental for large family lake cabin trip.
We rented this property for our family of 11 over the week of the Fourth of July. My husband and I owned a house on Big Green Lake for 33 years and have rented other properties on the lake. So, we are familiar with the area and other houses on the lake. We though this cottage would work well based on the pictures and the advertised details of 4 bedrooms and ability to sleep 14 – but he pictures and details in the listing were not accurate.
Arriving, we found the outside areas were dirty and not maintained. The deck/patio area was filthy. Every window had spiderwebs/bugs trapped in the screens. Unlike the photos, nearly the entire view of the lake was obstructed by giant, overgrown bushes. The dock was smaller than the dock in the listing photo, had missing boards, and jagged, rusty support poles. There was no ladder for swimmers. Worst of all, there was part of a decomposing animal in the fire-pit next to the kid’s sand pile in front of the house, a rancid bratwurst in the barbecue, and the barbecue grill was covered in some sort of fur – we replaced it.
The disappointment continued inside.
Sheets and towels are not supplied at this property. You must bring your own.
In the kitchen, there is no storage for dry goods, only one fluorescent light, and the pots and pans were ruined by burned on food and scratched off Teflon. The bathroom off of the kitchen was disgusting. The shower and walls were stained. The “privacy” curtain blocking the neighbors from seeing into the shower had black mold, as did the window frame behind it. There were many dead bugs stuck to the ceiling over the sink and the bath mat was moldy, matted and disgusting. It looked like a drowned animal. We replaced it with one of our own.
This is not a 4-bedroom house. There is one-bedroom downstairs and two tiny rooms upstairs. Upstairs, there is a double bed on the landing at the top of the stairs, a double bed and a crib in room one, and a double bed with two singles in room two. The a/c is located in room two. It is loud and there was something constantly rattling inside it. Room two stays ice-cold while room one and the landing were uncomfortably warm no matter how many fans we used. Also, the pull-out couches were so old and uncomfortable that we had to stack both mattresses on the ground to make one useable bed. In the end, sleeping arrangements were so untenable that my husband and I had to rent a hotel room in town.
We would never stay at this property again.

Not all the owners fault. Could of had someone turn on air conditioners before arrival.
House smelled musty until air conditioning ran a day. The mosquitos are not the owners fault, but couldn’t walk outside without being attacked. Other then that could have been nice.

Another Excellent Stay in Green Lake!
Cannot say enough about this wonderful cottage. It's very homey! We sailed, kayaked and canoed the whole week. The cottage is adorable and the kids had the best time in the sandpile. Thanks for a wonderful week of priceless memories.

Fun on Green Lake brought some frustrations!
Summer vacation is important to everyone, especially our group! We spend a great deal of time looking for the "perfect place" with great water access for boating, tubing and floating. If the water is the only thing that matters to you, you will be happy with this rental. The pier is in really poor condition. In fact, my husband stepped on a weak board and fell through!!! The pier was repaired, however a number of other "weak" boards were marked so we wouldn't get hurt on them. The pier needs some serious attention.
The home is advertised as a 4 bedroom, but it is actually a 3 bedroom. There is a 4th bed at the top of the stairs and curtains are used to provide privacy. If your group is fine with this, you will have no problems. If anyone in your group is tall, the upstairs will not work for you. My husband is over 6 feet and the ceiling fans could have easily given him a haircut!! (just be aware of the that).
The house has potential, but many things need some real tender loving care. The dryer is missing the on off knob. There is a sign on the dryer that says "turn gently" with a needle nose pliers to suffice as the knob. There was an ant invasion in the bathroom off the kitchen. We treated the ants during our stay, but it was not pleasant having ants marching across the kitchen counters during the day. Our first pot of coffee was found covering the kitchen floor, because of a leaking coffee pot. We had to purchase our own coffee maker for the stay. The home was not clean on arrival. Thank goodness, we brought supplies and cleaned as we moved in. The neighbors on each side of the rental property were super nice and welcoming!! However, there were renters a few homes down the street who brought their children over to play in the sand and use the swing on our property. This didn't settle well with our dog. Despite our requests for them to leave, they told us that "they knew the owners and it was alright......sorry, not while we are renting!" I wish I could give this place a better review, but given the time we took to find the right place for our 2016 family vacation, we were not impressed. The weather was perfect! The water was clear and great for floating, tubing and swimming. And of course, the company was excellent as always!! Sorry, Kraig, the house was a disappointment.
