About this property

Vacation apartment Haesner - Holiday apartment

The holiday rental is located on Seestraße on the edge of the historic old town, directly across from the ferry terminal to Rügen and Hiddensee, on the ground floor of a five-story historic building that was built around 1900 and extensively renovated in 1999. From the apartment, you can see Rügen and, on a clear day, all the way to Hiddensee.

Explore Stralsund’s historic old town on a walk starting right from Seestraße. Worth seeing are the Old Market Square with the Hanseatic town hall and the Gothic gabled houses, the remains of the city wall with two preserved city gates, the three large city churches—St. Nicholas, St. Mary’s, and St. James’s—built around 1300, as well as the St. John’s and St. Catherine’s monasteries. From the tower of St. Mary’s Church, you can enjoy an unforgettable view when the weather is nice. The St. Catherine’s Monastery is home to the Museum of Cultural History and the well-known Maritime Museum. The Wallenstein Days in July and the Christmas market during Advent are two highlights in the Hanseatic city’s extensive calendar of events.

The holiday rental is an ideal starting point for excursions in the surrounding area. A ferry runs three times a day to Hiddensee and hourly to Altefähr on Rügen. A harbour tour around the Dänholm also departs from the Seestraße pier.

The Crane Information Centre in Groß Mohrdorf is open year-round. Up to 30,000 cranes can be observed, especially in the fall. The island of Rügen, with its chalk cliffs near Saßnitz, Cape Arkona, Jasmund National Park, Granitz Hunting Lodge, and the seaside resorts of Binz and Sellin, offers a wide variety of excursion and sightseeing opportunities. Rügen can be reached via the Rügendamm by train or bicycle. The Störtebeker Festival on the Ralswiek Lake Stage in the summer is also worth a visit.

A visit to the Cinestar at Neuer Markt or the water park with its sauna garden at the HanseDom is worthwhile any time of year.

Getting there by public transport:
Stralsund train station; from there, take a taxi or bus line 1 or 4 to Olof-Palme-Platz, followed by a 5-minute walk.

The nearest parking option is in the car park at the harbour (Fährwall 22). A multi-day ticket (as of 06/26, 8 EUR per 24 hours) is recommended here. Additional parking options are available in the Old Town.

Holiday Rental:

At the heart of this spacious 85-square-meter apartment is the kitchen-living room, equipped with a convection oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, a large dining table, and a full set of dining and cooking utensils, a coffee maker, toaster, etc.

The spacious living room (ground floor, approx. 4 steps up to the apartment) is connected to the kitchen by a large double door. It features a comfortable sofa, a bed, a TV, and a closet. The sofa can also be used as a sleeping area for one or two people. Next to the living room is a bedroom with two single beds and a closet.

Behind the kitchen is the bathroom, which features a bathtub, shower stall, toilet, sink, and washing machine. There is also a guest bathroom. Behind the bedroom with a double bed is another bedroom with a single bed. Thanks to the large windows, this room is often bathed in sunlight.
