We have two separate lovely, private condo-style suites with views of Lake Kalamazoo (Saugatuck's Harbor) and Coughlin Park in Saugatuck's downtown Historic District, steps away from premier shopping, dining and boating opportunities.

This listing is for Suite #1 (Amani Suite) which is located on the main floor at the back of the Amazwi Contemporary Art gallery building. See Listing # 40745 for information on Suite #2 (Ndoto Suite) which is on the second floor above the gallery.

The suites are located near the Saugatuck Center for the Arts where entertainment options range from live theater and music performances to workshops for the budding artist, and weekly Farmers' Market in the Summer. Stroll through town to the hand-cranked Chain Ferry that crosses the Kalamazoo River, then walk or take the Inter-Urban bus to world-renowned Oval Beach.

Art Lovers: during your stay, guests of Amazwi Suites enjoy a 10% discount on purchases at the Amazwi gallery, offering original fine art paintings, sculpture, jewelry and unique crafts from Africa.

Location, location, location!

Walking distance to the shopping and resaurants. Suite is well appointed with nice decor and very clean. All this with a view of the park and the harbor. Definitely will stay again.

Venetian Festival Weekend

Property and accommodations were as advertised. Had a great time. Traffic/parking was terrible, but we knew that coming in. Will definitely consider staying here again.

Beautiful views

Love all the windows overlooking the water and park. This place is lovely and we instantly felt right at home. Bed is comfy, everything is clean, and it's the perfect size and location for a couple just "getting away." It is quiet here yet only a block away from shops and downtown restaurants/bars. Loved our stay!

Downtown Saugatuck!

This place is perfect! Very clean and comfortable! Butler street is right around the corner! It was only an easy 10 minute drive to Oval beach, Mount Baldhead Park as well as Saugatuck Dunes! Loved settling back in our cozy area, walk around Butler Street and grabbing something to eat.

Good place to stay

Great location. Walking distance to the shops and restaurants. The suite was very clean, but could use a little updating. The bathtub was hard to get in and out of. Overall it was a very relaxing getaway. Nice sitting area outside was enjoyable.

A Perfect Find!

Updated, clean, uncluttered--close to boardwalk, water and great downtown stores, restaurants and riverside bars. Easy walking distance most anywhere. Very nicely maintained--clearly the owners take pride in the property.

Perfect location!

This was a very cozy apartment, just steps from the river and the whole downtown area. Well equipped kitchen. The apartment could have used more lighting, and the tub grout needs some TLC. Great mattress and linens, and would certainly stay again!

Perfect Location

The cottage was wonderfully clean and perfectly located. It was extremely quiet despite being at street level. We loved the jetted tub, and the climate controls worked perfectly. We also loved having our coffee on the little porch every morning. Literally steps away from everything Saugatuck has to offer. We will be back next year!

Excellent location and hosts!

This suite is in great proximity to the lake and restaurants. Easy walkability in Saugatuck. Vicky and Wally went above and beyond to make sure all was well for our weekend. The place was very clean and decorated nicely with the art from the gallery. The only con IF I had to give one is that there was no TV in the bedroom. Otherwise we can't say enough good things about it. We'll have to be sure to visit when the weather is better!

Perfect spot

We enjoyed our cozy stay in walking proximity of all the downtown fun. The unit was clean and well maintained. We did not find the dead end side street to be an issue as stated in reviews. Being at the center of activity has it's trade offs. Most people didn't know we were there watching them walk by! We took our personal folding chairs over to the park, put our feet in the grass and enjoyed a lunch or just the view. Parking can be challenging but our experience was people came and went, so spots opened up. Wally is personable and helpful. Not our last time!

Why they chose this property

This is a great 'in-town' location because it is within walking distance of everything, yet it is on a side street removed from the restaurants and bars so there is not street/sidewalk traffic at night. Across the street is Coughlin Park and views of Lake Kalamazoo Harbor.
