This little holiday home is a dream—I hope you’ll have a wonderful time here, too. For many years, this house and the surrounding group of houses were home to customs officials and their families. Gradually, a local real estate company spruced them up and subdivided the property, and since 2010, one of these charming little customs houses has been mine. It offers plenty of space to relax in its own garden and on the terrace. From time to time, you’ll hear the sound of tractors; please don’t let this bother you, as they’re in the immediate vicinity and we have a good relationship with our neighbors.
The house has been gradually updated with new floors, a new kitchen, and some new windows. The bathroom and guest bathroom have also been given a modern makeover, making them even more of a place to relax. In the living room, you can use the Swedish stove in the winter or during the transitional seasons.
Of course, if you’re a smoker, you’re welcome to use the patio or the garden; smoking is not permitted inside the house.

The holiday(Zoll)häusle is located on the outskirts of the town of Albbruck on the Upper Rhine, not far from the Alb and Rhine rivers. It’s a great starting point for hiking in the Southern Black Forest and the Hotzenwald, etc., such as the Albsteig trail, which begins in Albbruck.
The Rhine is perfect for long or short bike rides, as well as for walks or simply relaxing, for example at the Dreispitz in Albbruck.
By bike or on foot, you can cross the Rhine Bridge in Albbruck to reach Switzerland, where you can continue your walk or bike ride.

In the summer, the town offers an outdoor pool with slides, a diving tower, separate areas for swimmers and non-swimmers, and a toddler pool with a large sunbathing lawn.
The accommodation is conveniently located for exploring the surrounding area by train (from 26.04.2026 until 2027: RAIL REPLACEMENT SERVICE) and bus, whether to Basel (CH) in Switzerland and Freiburg i.Br. or in the other direction to Lake Constance or the Rhine Falls in Neuhausen/Schaffhausen (CH). Excursions include, for example, the Swiss Alps or Feldberg in the Black Forest, Schluchsee, and Titisee.
The Upper Rhine is surrounded by many beautiful villages and small towns, such as Bad Säckingen, Waldshut-Tiengen, and offers wonderful landscapes.
