Rübeland is an excellent year-round holiday destination. Thanks to its central location, numerous sights and natural gems can be reached within a short time. Popular excursions include the ruins of Regenstein Castle near Blankenburg, the Rappbodetalsperre, the historic mines of Elbingerode, the fairytale Schloss Wernigerode, the Kyffhäuser monument and, of course, the Brocken - the highest mountain in northern Germany. Running directly past the house is the famous Hexenstieg, a 60-kilometre-long cycling and hiking trail stretching from the Brocken to Thale
