'Makin' Memories' is a newly renovated vacation retreat available on the famed scenic '30A' beach highway. Perfect for couples or small families, this 1bd, 1.5ba is furnished in coastal living style that will make you feel treated while also offering all the convenience and comfort of home living. Everything you need is right here. Choose to eat out at amazing nearby restaurants (many in walking distance) or eat in and watch the sunset from your balcony (Publix and Walmart are just up the road)!

Located perfectly on Highway 30A in Santa Rosa Beach, this hidden treasure offers the famous turquoise gulf waters and finest white sand you will ever imagine. 'Makin' Memories' at Gulf Place Cabanas is truly a hidden gem!!!

This third floor unit offers all upgrades including all tiled floors, marble bathroom, granite counter tops, along with top of the line furnishings. The Master bedroom offers a King size bed with a pillow top mattress, LCD Smart television, and separate bathroom entrance.

The full size hall bunks are perfect for young children all the way up to adults.

The kitchen has all the amenities needed for a wonderful vacation. There is a seated granite bar top with two chairs, and dining seating for four on the patio. The living room has seating for five, along with a large flat screen Smart TV, and DVD Player. The balcony will allow for a quiet evening with an ocean view. The summer months offer various entertainment for all vacationers. The atmosphere along 30A is very family friendly and you will feel welcome from the very first day.

The most impressive amenity of 'Makin' Memories' is our three pools. The pool below our unit offers a hot tub and is heated during the winter months. After enjoying a day of fun and sun on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, there is nothing like a swim in the pool.

For those who like to ride bikes and explore nature, 30A offers a nineteen mile bike/walking trail that has preserved parks with all that nature can offer. Also along 30A there are shops, dining, and entertainment for everyone. Seaside is only a short ten minute drive, and Destin is as well. TGulf Place is centrally located for everyone's needs.

If eating is your pleasure, restaurants along 30A are the best of the best. You will never get tired of eating at the same places because there are too many fine dining and other eating establishments to find. You will also find many quaint shops, art galleries, and live concerts and festivals along this nineteen mile road.

If you enjoy the outdoors, besides biking, this area has great golfing, fishing, and many other outdoor activities. A short drive will give you many choices of activities to please anyone.

Cold week

The weather was only in the 50s, but February is always iffy. Door lock/ knob had to be replaced. We couldn’t go anywhere for the first day waiting for locksmith to replace the lock. Property manager was very responsive when we called. He sent a locksmith within the hour, however he had to come the next day to replace the lock. Said he would be there between 9 and 10am. He didn’t show up until 1:20pm. Other than the first day lost, visit was enjoyable.

Perfect getaway

This was a wonderful property. It was in a quiet neighborhood, just a quick walk across the street to the beach. The crosswalk was helpful even though the street wasn’t terribly busy. The owner was very responsive and even allowed early checkin. Beds were comfortable. The place was extremely clean. We would love to stay here again.

Beach Weekend

Gulf Place is one of my favorite complexes to stay at in Santa Rosa, and this trip was no different! Steps away from private beach access, this location cannot be beat. The condo was perfect for our group of four adult friends, with plenty of indoor and outdoor space to lounge around and play games while waiting out some short summer storms. Highly recommend!

Great condo & perfect location

We truly enjoyed our week at Santa Rosa Beach and our condo. Easy booking process, clean condo, had everything we needed, right across the street from the beach. The free washer/dryers onsite was very helpful. The guys with 30A Shade Beach chair service was great to work with for our umbrella and chairs each day. We drove down Gulf Scenic Drive and had dinner at Miller’s Ale House, it was wonderful!

Condo was nice! Perfect location just across the beach from beach access. Could have used a deep cleaning of living room curtains(or just removal and keeping blinds) and outdoor cushions. Other than that, a perfect condo for the two of us!

Great place and location.

Clean, well stocked, and ideal location with very short walk to beach. Couple questions to the owners and they were very responsive and pleasant to work with. The bunk beds were set back in a hallway which allowed the kids to sleep in late when they needed to. Space is well laid out for a family of four. Only negative is only one of the three pools were heated over spring break which made the one pool very crowded. Would definitely stay again.

Best beach

Great location, not right on the beach but so close. You can walk to a lot of local shops, eatery’s, bars. Did I mention, this is the best beach I’ve ever seen, warm, clean, white powdery sand. You can’t beat it.

Summer Vacation

I booked this as a last minute vacation for my son and I. The condo was lovely. Had lots of amenities, kitchen supplies, games to play and even options of stuff to watch on TV. Plenty of seating. Master bed was sooo comfortable. Best sleep I’ve gotten in a long time. I would definitely stay there again.

I had to be in the Destin- Panama City Beach area for work over the weekend and chose to stay on 30A at Gulf Place Cabanas. The condo was clean and well stocked. TV"s worked well and the view of the water was terrific.

Beautiful place and great location

Hi, This place was beautifully decorated and had all the extras as if you lived there and weren't staying in a rental property. The bed was very comfortable, the towels plush, all the amenities you needed. In addition, the IPOD player in the living room was a nice touch. It was a great location just across the street from the beach and we enjoyed live music at the restaurant next door. In addition, being on 30A was quite a treat as we were used to staying in Destin. We enjoyed the local feel. Also, Jason and Deanne were very helpful when we needed anything. We would definitely look into going back and staying here again!

Great location

My wife and two kids really enjoyed our stay! Everything was ready upon check in and it was clean. The kids enjoyed the bunk beds. There are a lot of restaurants within walking distance and grocery stores within a 5-7 min drive. The only downside is that some of the things further down 30A are really hard to get to by driving and parking. The traffic further down is a cluster but the area around where we actually stayed was totally fine. The beaches make you feel like you’re in a tropical location with the white sands and turquoise waters. I went for a run just about everyday on the parkway. The pools we had access too were nice as well. You really can’t beat the price based on the location and the quality of the room. We had a great time and would recommend for anybody that is looking to experience 30A!

I would really give this a 4.5. It was very clean and well equipped. The bed was a bit soft for someone who needs a firm mattress for back problems. Larger TVs would be nice. I would have liked a broom or small vacuum. There is some road noise but the fountains are nice. The walk to the beach was close but there are three flights of stairs down to the beach. The jacuzzi was small and the pool heater was broken. All in all we enjoyed Gulf Place and the availability of restaurants and shops. We would stay again.

Needs some TLC

Overall condo needs a deep clean (dust hanging from ceiling, toenail trimmings on floor where rug/floor isn’t cleaned, all bed sheets pop right off beds, kitchen cabinets are stuffed full of all sorts of random stuff) and balcony view photos are outdated- palm trees are taller and there basically is zero gulf view. location is amazing and walkable to shops, restaurants, icecream ect. 3 pools 2 of which had construction going on and had limited hours so didn’t really feel like we got what was advertised.

Problems with Keypad Entry

The condo is cute, but the keypad entry malfunctioned immediately after arrival and every time we left the condo thereafter, causing my daughter and me to have to continue trying the code several times and trying buttons that aren’t required for entry. Thankfully, this worked and we were never locked out, but it was upsetting not knowing if the door would open. The owner, Jason, was easily accessible by phone and offered to send a locksmith out, but since we were only there one night, we didn’t want to have to deal with that. There is no management office on site. If I had left my phone in the condo while going back out to my vehicle to retrieve my bag, I would have had no way to contact the owner.

Could not use our balcony.

So we have mixed feelings about our stay. We were there for 10 nights and I’ll list the pros and cons. Pros- location was amazing! Loved staying at Gulf Place with all of the various restaurants within walking distance and the beach access (3) was great. The bed was so incrediably comfortable and the condo was well stocked. Cons- the pictures of the view are very deceiving and must have been taken years ago before the palm trees were taller. There is a tiny sliver of a view when bending down and looking to the left. You have to search for it. This was very disappointing. The pool was under construction which we were not told about in advance. They were sandblasting daily from about 9am to 5pm and we were not able to use our balcony at all. This also created dust everywhere: lots of very unhappy people in our building. Had we known about this we would have never booked. The condo itself is well laid out but is in dire need of a deep clean. All of the towels were stained and I even tried to wash them myself. You can tell that the cleaners never move anything and just do a brief surface clean. The bedspread was disgusting and needs to be replaced. The moldings are covered with dust as are all of the surfaces above and below counter level. There is way, way too much furniture in all rooms including the balcony which makes walking around difficult. Half of the furniture could be removed and it would still seem cluttered. There is no basic cable tV- only a smart tV with prerecorded programs. We don’t watch a lot of tv on vacation but it would have been nice to watch the news I’m the morning while having our coffee. I let the owner know about the issue with the pool and daily sandblasting and was promised a credit but it was never reviewed.

Beautiful!

We loved our visit to Santa Rosa Beach. The area is simply gorgeous. Very close proximity to the beach. The beach of course is beautiful and clean, white sand, and emerald blue waters. We spent most of our time at the beach. The pools at Gulf Place were very nice. In general, they weren't very crowded. There aren't a lot of chairs at the bigger pool, which seemed to be an issue late in the afternoon for some guests. The condo was clean and nice. The bunk beds were cute, and fortunately our girls are small. They definitely won't work for larger teens. The condo is decorated beautifully as you can see in all of the pictures. The sliding glass door did not work very well at all. Also, 2 of the 3 lamps in the living area weren't working, and the kitchen light flickered quite a bit. Other than that, the condo was furnished with most of what you need to get by for a week. The ice maker worked and we kept it running a lot. Every night at dusk, frogs (we think that's what they were) "barked" for hours, very loud, and plenty of them. With the sliding door open, you could barely hear the tv. It was definitely a nuisance. We closed the door and it was quieter. Definitely could be an issue for some guests. We don't know if it is a mating call or just exactly what the issue was. For activities outside of the pool/beach, we did paddle boarding one day at San Destin wharf since the beach was too choppy almost the entire week (2-4 ft waves every day). We also did jet skiing one day at San Destin. These are expensive adventures, but worth the money to break up the days a little bit. We considered renting bikes at the Yolo shop at Gulf Place, but that was very expensive ($30/day/bike). We really enjoyed the location and the 30A scenic route. We drove down to the various communities several times and shopped/ate. We would definitely come back! We probably would try a 2 bedroom condo next time.
