About this property

Almhaus Baar, Austria

A bit like the old days—a rustic, charming holiday home at an elevation of 1,800 m: sleeps 9, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sauna, fully equipped / ski area just 500 m from the house!
In this house, with its unique mountain architecture—“a bit like the old days”— —with its fully equipped facilities and practical layout—anyone who wants to reconnect with nature will find everything they need for rest and relaxation in an alpine chalet with a special, rustic charm.
Our house motto:
“We can do a lot—we’ll do everything possible—but we take the weather as it is and as it comes”
Situated on a 711 m² lot at an elevation of 1,800 m on the Falkert (2,308 m), on the edge of the Nockberge Nature Reserve in Carinthia / Austria, not far from Lake Millstatt and near Bad Kleinkirchheim, stands this alpine cottage built from solid spruce logs.
The holiday home is built entirely of wood. The only stones used are for the fireplace and the fire protection around the wood-burning stove.
The 1½-storey house offers 90 m² of living space and can accommodate up to nine people—making it ideal for two families of friends, for example.
The Heimsonne, with the sun’s natural light spectrum (not a tanning bed), and the sauna (infrared and Finnish) with a panoramic view of the valley invite you to relax.
Parking right next to the house! 11 kWh charging station available! Ski area 500 m from the house!
Please note the ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REGARDING THE RENTAL PRICE! in the navigation under “More”
Within a radius of 50 m to 500 m, you can enjoy meals at hotels, a restaurant, and several eateries and mountain huts in the Falkert Lake region. Shopping options in the valley, in the village of Patergassen (discount store, bakery, butcher)
In winter, the Falkert stands out for its unique ski area—just 500 m from the alpine lodge!:
Alpine skiing, ice skating, and tobogganing on and around Lake Falkert, cross-country skiing on the high-altitude trail, ski school, and a children’s park.
Purchasing the Carinthia Card is especially recommended in the summer. This card grants free or at least discounted access to many tourist attractions and facilities in the area: the Heidialm Adventure Park with statues of Heidi and Peter, the reptile zoo, mountain railways, boat tours, the Roman Baths in Bad Kleinkirchheim, and much more.
