We are Ideally situated for exploring the whole of the North Dordogne, South Haute Vienne and Charante area.

Our child friendly gites are ideal for families, with facilities onsite to amuse children of all ages, including ping pong, a pool table, swing/slide set, badminton, - we provide toys/games, and books from the library. The pool (open end May - end Sept) is situated to the rear of the buildings, is in a secluded private sun trap, with a lovely open aspect and views of the local wooded area. The pool has easy access by steps, with loungers and parasols for your comfort, pool-side lights and under-water illumination. The pool is shared with La Maison de Rebeyrat. It is cleaned and maintained on a daily basis, and is fully compliant with French law, including a safety alarm which has a code. On the large south facing terrace you can relax in the sun reading a book and when it gets too hot, you can take a refreshing dip. You will love the peace and tranquility. The property is situated in 4 acres of private, secluded wood and meadow land, giving you complete privacy, perfect for lounging on hot summer afternoons. The rear enclosed garden, shared by both gites, has a gas barbecue where you can enjoy outdoor dining at the table, chairs and parasols provided. You can also watch for wildlife, such as deer, birds, including eagles. On a clear night, every star in the milky way comes out. There is so much land for children to run around freely and everyone to find their own private space to relax and unwind.

L'arbre Magnolia is furnished in a relaxed style, with modern decorations and has 2 floors. Completely renovated to an exceedingly high standard, the gite has spacious rooms, and plenty of modern amenities to enhance your stay, with everything you would expect to find in your own home. The gite is decorated to a high standard with homely touches and quality fixtures and fittings. The ground floor has a large kitchen, the ideal place to make use of your cooking talents with fresh products found in local markets. It is fully equipped, with fitted units, granite worktops, a fitted refrigerator, oven, hob, dishwasher and toaster. The dining area has an attractive solid oak table with eight chairs and a good focal point for your group to get together over dinner and a glass of wine. Leading off the hall is a twin room with fitted wardrobe and views of the garden. Opposite this room there is a WC with wash basin and fitted shower. A wooden spiral staircase leads upstairs to a modern, spacious, comfortably furnished living room with large sofas, yew wood furniture, to create a relaxing living area. Satellite TV (English and French channels) WiFi, stereo, ipod docking station and DVD player are also on hand. This level also houses two more large bedrooms. One has twin beds and the other is a spacious master bedroom with large en-suite. The master bedroom is beautiful and spacious and offers a soothing and quiet atmosphere. Beds are made up upon your arrival, you just have to unpack your suitcases! From the master bedroom, patio doors open out on to a balcony. There is a mosaic table, chairs and a parasol where you can take your morning coffee overlooking the countryside or dine 'al fresco'.

L'arbre Magnolia is ideally situated for exploring the whole North Dordogne, South Haute Vienne and the Charante area. Also great for walking, cycling, riding in the peaceful and tranquil surrounding countryside. The moment you walk out the door you can begin a walk through the beautiful hilly landscape. Walking and mountain biking trails start on the doorstep. We are popular with ramblers, cyclists, wine-tasters, walkers/hikers, bird-watchers and lovers of the natural world. All walks/bike rides are clearly signed and maps are available in the gite. There is a family run restaurant within walking distance. There are also plenty of lakes for fishing and a choice of golf courses. Piegut Pluviers is a 10 min drive, with shops, banks, restaurants, and bars. A bustling Wednesday market provides the holidaymakers with all the smells one associates with life in France. At Champniers Reilhac in July/August you can buy fresh produce and have it BBQ and sit at long trestle tables in the town square and enjoy the night while listening to the band. This is a truly great French experience. For an energetic family fun day out, you must go to the Adventure Park, where you can swing from trees, walk rope ladders, abseil amongst other thrilling activities set in a natural area. All activities uses harnesses and are fully supported by qualified and experienced instructors. St Estephe is a man made lake approx 15 mins away from the gites, which has an excellent beach with picnic tables and a children's play area. There are numerous out door activities available including, rock climbing, horse riding, walking, fishing, beach volleyball and French boules. Kayaks are available and the first 30 minutes is free. Places to visit: Limoges is famous for porcelain; Oradour, a grim reminder of the tragedies of World War 2, Brantome is an idyllic village located to the north of Perigueux on the banks of the River Dronne. The town is known locally as the Venice of Perigord. The town also boasts a selection of good restaurants including the Michelin starred Moulin de l'Abbaye. Market day is Friday. Canoeing through Brantome gives you a different perspective on the town and is always a popular way to enjoy the setting and the surrounding countryside.The whole experience will provide fond memories that will last long after the holiday is over and make you want to return.

Travelling with small children, not a problem, we can provide travel cot, high chair and the stairs can have safety gates put in place. L'arbre Magnolia is also fitted with smoke alarms and has a fire extinguisher. The owners live on site but we will ensure that your privacy is guaranteed. However, we will be on hand, if required, to answer any questions, give you advice and recommendations about local activities and attractions, make reservations for you, and help to make your stay as relaxing as possible and to make your holiday a memorable one.
