This house is close to Everything!! Tanglewood (3 miles), Kripalu (3 miles), theaters, Jacob's Pillow, Lee Outlets, etc.

This house has a NEW and very large MBR on the first floor with adjacent bathroom.. It also has 3 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. Sleeps 11. Highlights: Central air, private English garden and gazebo, updated eat-in kitchen, mud room, bar area, and new 1st floor bathroom. House is located on Shaker Mill Pond with dock access. Perfect for a family vacation getaway with lots of space for people to come together or to have their own space. Large sunroom off kitchen has great views of the water. Large multi tiered deck off sunroom is great for relaxing and entertaining. In addition, there is a separate living room with lots of space.

There is a dock on the water for easy access for kayaking and canoeing. Not a swimming pond.

It is the type of house where you walk inside and instantly relax.

Please do not leave wet towels on furniture nor cups/glasses on furniture. It destroys the wood.

Excellent Ski Week

The home was a perfect location within walking distance to town. The accommodations were charming and great for a family. The sunroom lounge area was a nice spot for coffee in the morning to admire the view and let kids have a hangout spot after skiing. The kitchen was stocked well to cook for the week and plenty of beds for everyone. Great home away from home for the school vacation.

Little slice of heaven

We had a lovely time at Chris’s house, especially enjoyed the close proximity to West Stockbridge and Tanglewood. The restaurant Amici was easily reachable by foot and served delicious foods for vegans, vegetarians and meat/fish lovers. Chris’s house accommodated our family superbly in that everyone was able find a quiet spot either in the house or garden. We had a great time!

fantasy landscape

We took full advantage of the beautiful grounds, enjoying s'mores in the fire pit, grilling on the deck, reading in the gazebo, and canoeing on quaint Shaker Mill Pond. When we needed supplies or just wanted to stretch our legs, a quick stroll into town was just the ticket. Chris was amazingly responsive to all our questions and needs. Perfect central location to all Berkshires fun!

Comfortable, well-equipped home in West Stockbridge

We enjoyed our stay at the end of August. There’s so much to do in the area—Tanglewood, hiking, canoeing, good restaurants. The kitchen has everything you need, beds are very comfortable. Lots of places to hang out both inside and outside the house.

A lovely respite!

The house and grounds are impeccable and comfortable and offer many wonderful spots to relax and gather. Perfectly located within walking distance of the shops and cafes in west Stockbridge. Also a great central location for Lenox and Great Barrington and Stockbridge. This was the perfect spot for a family vacation

Great vacation

Really spacious house! Huge master bedroom, sunroom overlooking the pond was great for hanging out, kayaks and canoes for us to explore the pond, and lots of activities within easy driving distance! Chris was a great host and we had a wonderful time!

Nice house on the lake

We enjoyed our three days on the lake in this really nice house with an impressive master bedroom and bathroom. Even though the weather was wet and dreary, we took the kayaks out for a spin. Tried our luck fishing too. Nice getaway.

Wonderfully intimate and yet spacious and comfortable home.

A collection of family and friends - 10 in all - stayed at this terrific home over Presidents’ weekend and all had a superb time. The home couldn’t have been better fashioned for our needs - from a perfectly outfitted kitchen to lounging areas that worked for teens and adults alike. The proximity to four nearby ski resorts and cute towns (such as Lenox and Great Barrington) were huge pluses as well. We would rent this place again - in a heartbeat - perhaps during a different season to take advantage of the lovely setting: steps from a picturesque pond.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

We enjoyed gathering with our adult children in this spacious, clean, idyllic spot in the Berkshire’s. The kitchen was perfect for “in” eating, complete with pots, pans and a grill. We took advantage of the pond by fishing, kayaking, and hiking was a few minute drive away. The grounds provided the perfect backdrop for our family pictures. Wonderful weekend! Wonderful memories! Family Vacation in the Berkshires

Chris is a great host. He was responsive to any questions we had. There was so much to do in the area that we were out for most of the day. It was great to come back to the peaceful property. We loved sitting out back. We started every morning with a quick walk down to Sixth Depot for coffee. Do not miss Turn Park sculpture garden which is just steps away. High Lawn Farms ice cream was a fan favorite. Great week!

Right on the Pond!

The house is clean and comfortable. What makes this property special is its location on Shaker Mill Pond! The view greets you as soon as you walk through the front gate into the yard. Kayaks and canoes are provided and the private dock is right there, making it easy to enjoy the water. The house is a very quick walk into town to visit No Six Depot (coffee shop) the West Stockbridge farmers market, etc. The location is also convenient for getting around to all Berkshires attractions.

Lovely house, and a great location

The house itself is lovely, and large enough to be comfortable for two families. The location might be even better. Right in West Stockbridge - steps to No 6 Depot, the general store, shaker mill books, the farmers market, and restaurants. 10 minutes to tanglewood, lenox, stockbridge. But, step through the gate, and you find yourself in a private garden on a pond, complete with screened gazebo and canoes and kayaks. We had a really wonderful two weeks, enjoying the house, the pond, and all the nature and culture the berkshires offers.

Beautiful grounds! We were able to enjoy a bonfire and great view. The house must have a interesting history as you can identify the original and additions. The keyless entry was so convenient with the lights coming on automatically. The kitchen was fully equipped if you had desire to cook. We had a very good week visiting the Berkshires for the first time and will probably be back. We arrived late and it was difficult to locate the house in the dark, suggest adding the house number to the fence.

Wonderful week in The Berkshires

Thank you Chris for a wonderful week! We enjoyed your "home away from home" on Shaker Mill Pond! The house has everything you need to call it yours during your stay. A wonderfully stocked kitchen, comfortable bedding, fully stocked pantry with coffee (Keurig or brewed) , spices, pots,pans and laundry supplies too! We used the kayak on the pond several times and walked to town for coffee at No 6 Depot (great muffins too) and explored the TurnPark! Using the home as a convenient base, we saw a BSO Concert at Tanglewood, Berkshire Botanical Gardens, Mt. Greylock, Waconah Falls and visit to Norman Rockwells' for the avid Saturday Night Post devotee. Checked out Great Barrington (cool vibes) and SoCo Creamery and spent a couple of hour rocking at The Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge. When can we return?

5-Star Stay

This home is exactly as described. The large first floor bedroom was perfect for my father in law as the stairs to the second floor are steep. The original portion of the house dates from the 1820’s I believe. The kitchen and sun room were wonderful and the deck behind the house is expansive. The Garden area is also exactly as pictured. It was too chilly to use it, but it’s inviting to say the least. There is a Stockade fence which provides privacy from the road. I fell in love with West Stockbridge on this trip. The house is 2 minutes from the town center. You can’t ask for much more than that! Make your reservation now!!

Great Location

We had a great time. Chris was very attentive and responded immediately if we had any issues. We didn’t see a dock when we were there, but managed to go canoeing and kayaking despite that. It is a really beautiful home in a great location, not to far from attractions, and we definitely enjoyed the sunrise and sunsets over Shaker Mill Pond. There was space for people who wanted some alone time, and multiple places to hang out together. The kitchen is modern and updated, and stocked with everything you might need. The gazebo is great, as it is screened in, and we enjoyed sitting around the fire pit. The sunroom and living room were definitely great hang out spots. There was a nice selection of movies, music and games. It was as if Chris thought of everything. Highly recommend! Thank You Chris for everything!

Perfect - close to everything but still private & with water access!

We just returned from a thoroughly enjoyable 2 week stay in this delightful home! We spent 1 week there as a family (2 adults, 2 kids - aged 6 and 8) and 1 week there along with another family (2 adults, 2 kids - aged 7 and 10). The outdoor space (the deck, the yard, the gazebo, the garden, fire pit, and the private dock) around this house is fantastic! We spent a lot of time outside fishing, canoeing, throwing a football with the kids, grilling, reading and relaxing. On the rainy days, we played ping pong, cooked in the well stocked kitchen, headed into nearby downtown W. Stockbridge (few minutes walk away), or enjoyed all the wonderful activities (indoor and outdoor) readily available in the Berkshires (art museums, dance, plays, hikes, etc). The owner Chris was so helpful and responsive! We usually heard back from him within minutes, when we sent him questions before and during the trip. It is a summer tradition in our family to spend 1-2 weeks in the Berkshires each summer - and we hope to have the opportunity to return to this wonderful home next summer!

Peaceful Respite

Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house. It was very well kept and clean, both inside and outside. Outside, we enjoyed fishing off the dock and from the boat, watching the beautiful lake from the deck during meals or morning coffee, toasting marshmallows in the fire pit at night, and admiring the well tended flower garden. One of the coolest things about this property is its location. When you go in through the front gate, it feels like entering a very private oasis, but you are still close enough to the little town of West Stockbridge to walk there in a few minutes. Inside, the house was clean and spacious. There were lots of areas around to escape for alone time or to gather together. Kitchen was well stocked and clean with spices and cooking supplies. The included linens were soft and comfortable (not the usual in vacation rentals!). The obviously newer “master suite” with king bed and new bathroom was expansive and bright. Temperature in the house was easily controlled with zoned central air. Chris was very responsive and friendly in all interactions, his love for this house shows. Thank you for having us, we plan to rent again if we come to the area!

Everything we needed!

Our multi-generational group of 5 adults, a toddler and an infant had an enjoyable stay in July! The kitchen is extremely well stocked with dishes, glasses, pots, gadgets and even some basic cooking needs (oil, condiments, etc.). The 3 year old enjoyed pretending the sliding window between the kitchen and sun room was a McDonald's drive-through. The 2 kayaks and canoe were used the first two days for quick trips down the pond - life jackets were available and the dock makes for an easy launch. We never saw anyone else on the pond - it's not one you would swim in. The gazebo was a pleasant place to eat in when we used the grill one of the nights. The location was an easy drive to both Tanglewood and Jacob's Pillow. A small grocery store and a couple of restaurants are within a very short walking distance (skip the Art Park for now - not much to see). A geese family seems to regularly visit the property in the evenings, so watch where you step! Also, be aware that there are always dozens of bees around the lavender surrounding the doors. We ignored them and they didn't bother us. Street parking in front of the house fits 4-5 cars in parallel. We never figured out how to access the cable channels but streaming on our own devices via wifi worked fine. We brought our own sheets to avoid the last minute sheet washing. Spacious Home, Well Equipped, Great Location, Something For Everyone...

We spend a week in the Berkshires every year in the fall to see the leaves, do the "pumpkin" stuff with the kids and see extended family. Over the years we have stayed in various properties, this year was our "first" for this property and it did not disappoint! First of all, the owner Chris was extremely accommodating and responsive both before and during our week. Also, the place is immaculate and has every possible amenity (complete kitchen, tvs/cable/wifi, drip coffee and k-cup machine, etc.), washer/dryer, and well stocked with every "consumable". You truly have all the comforts of home. The layout with large kitchen, sunroom as family room and bedrooms upstairs gave plenty of space to be together or doing your own thing. In fact, we ended up hosting our family get together because of the space and the flow of the house & property. Outdoors was room for the kids to play football, we had meant to make use of the canoes/kayak but the weather didn't cooperate with times we could do so, we did enjoy the deck, gazebo, dock and fire pit. Also downtown was in walking distance. We had changeable weather ranging from hot/humid to cold and rainy all within our week - the great thing was the property afforded us to be flexible based on the weather, there was always something to do. To make this a 5 star place for us, it would need some more attention in the main bedroom upstairs. Biggie was no shade on the window - I am one of those people who no matter how tired cannot sleep with light in the room so the lack of morning shade made sleeping in on vacation challenging. Also more storage for clothes (just a small dresser) and a hanger rod in the closet would avoid using suitcases all week. The other 2 bedrooms were very cozy and felt intentional in style and purpose, having the same approach in the largest bedroom would be a homerun! Other small suggestions would be a house number on the fence or a photo in VRBO from the street for reference - we arrived at night after 700 miles in the car and it took a while to make sure we had the right place and weren't trespassing on someone's else's property. Lastly, suggest adding some locks on the upstairs bathroom and bedrooms - we have small kids so privacy was hard since little hands could open doors at whim. Overall, we had a great experience! We also loved the personal touch of family pictures and catholic symbols which added a level of homelike feel. I have a feeling we'll be back....

I have been reinvesting all of the profits back into this house for many years. Anyone that has rented year after year have even commented on this.

Any time someone asks me about this house I instantly say that "I love it." It is one of my favorite places. The only reason I rent it is because of work and having older children, I just don't get there like we used to.

Please come and enjoy it as I do!!

This house has it all. It is very private but also walking distance to a charming Berkshire town that has restaurants, coffee shops, small grocery store, bank, liquor store, and antiques. The house has lots of sleeping space and entertaining space. There is a very large kitchen for entertaining and multiple areas outside to relax, play, or entertain.
