The holiday rental
Great holiday rental for up to three people on two levels with 48 square metres of living space, a large kitchen-living room equipped with all appliances, including a dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, and freezer.
Kitchen, bathroom with shower, and hallway on the ground floor, as well as a second hallway and a living/bedroom on the upper floor with a view of the 13th-century brick church.
Here you’ll find a cosy double bed (1.80 m x 2.00 m) and a sleeper sofa.
A parking space and two seating and barbecue areas are located right next to the house, inviting you to relax and soak up the sun.
The Cradle of Mecklenburg
Dorf Mecklenburg—a small village between Schwerin and Wismar—is situated on historic ground.
For centuries, Michilinburg served as the seat of the tribal prince and the main castle of the Obodrites. In 1256, Johann I of Mecklenburg ordered its demolition, as he needed the materials to build his princely court in Wismar.
Around the middle of the 14th century, the present-day village emerged from the settlements surrounding the outer bailey. Over time, Mikelenburg became Mecklenburg—and thus the name of an entire region.
Dorf Mecklenburg
The town is very easily accessible—even without a car—thanks to the train station and bus connections to Schwerin and Wismar.
The brick church, with its 17th- and 18th-century murals and furnishings, located right next to the holiday rental, is well worth a visit, as is the District Agricultural Museum, which presents the history of agriculture in Mecklenburg in an impressive and accessible way.
The region’s landmark is the single-story Dutch windmill, built in 1849 on the Rugensberg. From here, you can see far into the countryside. Today, it serves as a hotel and restaurant.
