About this property
Relaxen am Nationalpark Eifel by Interhome
type of building: Detached house. size of property: 100m². year of construction: 1677.
Relaxing in the Eifel National Park Blankenheim - Ahrhütte lies at the source of the Ahr, surrounded by the cities of Aachen, Cologne, Bonn and Koblenz. Here, the Eifel with its juniper heaths and limestone drifts presents an idiosyncratic but intoxicatingly beautiful landscape. Ahrhütte is surrounded by nature reserves and the Eifel National Park, but cycling enthusiasts will also get their money's worth here.
A car is recommended, but there is also a train station in Blankenheim. Public transport: A regional train usually runs every hour from Cologne main station to Blankenheim-Wald station. From there, take the bus and get off at the Ahrhütte Kirwel stop. (journey time approx. 20 minutes). As the connections here are rather poor, we recommend that you find out in advance or take a taxi if necessary. Travelling by car: Coming from the north towards Cologne. From Cologne, take the A 1 towards Euskirchen to the end of the motorway at the Blankenheim exit. Then drive through Blankenheim and follow the road for about 10 minutes until you reach Ahrhütte. Coming from the south, take the A 48 Koblenz - Trier motorway, exit at Ulmen; take the B 257 towards Nürburgring, then the B 258 towards Blankenheim until you reach Ahrhütte.
The terrace is equipped with garden furniture, parasol and a charcoal barbecue
A historic house located directly next to the Eifel National Park, the Lampertstal nature reserve, the Nohn waterfalls, the Ahrsteig, the Eifelsteig and premium cycle paths. Off-the-peg furnishings would not do this house justice.
The house was built in 1677 as an administrative building for the former ironworks. It belonged to the territory of the Dukes of Arenberg. Not much remains of the iron mining industry in the Eifel, some things can only be guessed at. This also changed the history of the building. The former administrative building became a hotel, then the retirement home of a priest, then a private residence and now a holiday home. The house is modern and brightly furnished. Some old furniture is an eye-catcher, ensuring that the character of the house has been preserved while still allowing you to enjoy the comforts of today.
The holiday home with its 3 bedrooms and capacity for up to 6 people is an ideal base for exploring the Wacholdereifel.
The equipment with dishwasher, washing machine, cooker ... should fulfil your wishes. The furnishings have also been designed to harmonise with the amenities and the historical charm of the building. Holidays in the Eifel, holidays among friends.
The holiday home in Blankenheim Ahrhütte is located at the beginning of the Ahr Valley. Here in Blankenheim - Ahrhütte, the Eifel shows its barren side. This section of the Ahr Valley is also known as the limestone or juniper Eifel. This region is famous for its national park and nature reserves. The Ahr rises in Blankenheim and thus forms the beginning of the Ahr Valley. Surrounded by nature reserves and the Eifel National Park, you can admire and discover the unique natural landscape with its juniper heaths and limestone drifts. The area also has interesting offers for active holidaymakers with premium hiking trails and cycle routes, as well as many local routes.
Ahrhütte is conveniently located as a starting point for the nearby Nürburgring, the wine villages on the Ahr, or for city tours to Bonn, Cologne or Aachen thanks to its proximity to the A1 motorway. The holiday home is also popular for visiting the Eifel Adventure Park, Phantasialand, the open-air museum in Kommern, the wildlife park in Kommern or the Nürburgring.
The Eifel and the Ahr valley in particular offer almost everything except hectic, stress, big cities and industry. It's not just the surroundings that have to match the holiday, but also the accommodation. Despite its thick walls, the holiday home is bright and friendly. Up to 6 people can stay here in three bedrooms. The well-equipped kitchen can, but does not have to be used, and in summer there is certainly the alternative of barbecuing on the terrace on the charcoal grill. But Blankenheim also has a lot to offer at other times of the year, be it the traditional ghost parade as an alternative to the "normal" carnival parades, or the orchid blossom in the Lampertstal, or simply relaxing by the fireplace with regional specialities. Hospitality is very important to us. So that you can feel at home as soon as you arrive, a free bottle of Ahrwein awaits you as a welcome gift.
