Baypoint — A Family Cottage on Lake Joseph
Once discovered, never forgotten.
Baypoint sits on Green's Bay, a sheltered, south-facing pocket of Lake Joseph — one of the three big lakes that have defined Muskoka summers for over a century. The view stretches long down the lake, dotted with islands that catch the morning light and frame the sunsets. The water is shallow and warm at the shoreline, with a true sand bottom that walks out gently for thirty feet before it gets deep. It is the kind of waterfront that lets a two-year-old wade in alongside a grandparent, and that lets a confident swimmer push off the dock into clear, deep lake.
This is a cottage built for families. Three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms across 2,000 square feet, sleeping six comfortably. A great room that opens to a screened-in sun porch facing the water, where breakfast lasts as long as the conversation. A full kitchen with everything a family needs to cook real meals — not just reheat them. A wood-burning fireplace for the cool nights that make a Muskoka summer feel like a Muskoka summer. Bell Fibre internet at 500+ Mbps, because the days of unplugging completely are over and that is fine.
Outside, a fixed dock runs into the bay with two kayaks, a canoe, and life jackets ready to go. A large deck wraps the lake-facing side of the cottage with room for the whole family at dinner. A fire pit waits for the marshmallows. Beach chairs and beach towels are stocked. The cottage, the deck, the dock, the porch — every space points the same direction, which is toward the water.
Baypoint sits minutes from some of Muskoka's best golf courses, including Rocky Crest right on Lake Joseph. Bass Lake Roadhouse is six minutes away. The Muskoka Lakes Winery is twenty. Santa's Village is forty-five for the kids who still believe and the parents who love that they still do. For stargazing, the Torrance Barrens Dark-Sky Preserve is a thirty-five-minute drive. For groceries and a Saturday morning coffee, Mactier and Port Carling are both close.
This is a cottage that has been loved by every family that has stayed in it — every review, perfect. We rent it from June through the first week of September. We are particular about who we host because we are particular about who has loved it.
Bring the family. Bring the kids. Bring the dog after a quick conversation with us. Leave the rest behind.
