Erle 11 - detached vacation home on an old cathedral site

In the courtyard of our historic farmhouse on the outskirts of Kalkar, we’ve created a cosy holiday home for families, cyclists, day-trippers, and travellers.

Kalkar is a charming little town on the Lower Rhine with a lovingly preserved historic old town. Kalkar is particularly well-known for its medieval atmosphere, its market square, and its proximity to popular biking and hiking trails along the Rhine. Families also appreciate the wide range of recreational activities in the area as well as the proximity to the Netherlands.

Two bedrooms with double beds, a children’s bed (a travel cot available upon request), and an additional sleeping space on our loft provide accommodation for families with up to 3 children or groups of 5 adults. The spacious bathroom and the open-concept kitchen-living area perfectly round out the holiday package.

The apartment is wheelchair-accessible and equipped with a climate-friendly green roof, a solar panel system, a heat pump, and underfloor heating. The garden is currently still under construction. However, the covered patio with seating area is already fully usable.
