Really loved our stay with Kathy and Martin. The house is very cool, and we really enjoyed saying hi to the dogs and strolling down to the lake to look for wildlife and paddle around. We had 9 people, and there was plenty of room for everyone. My family had a truly special time in Alaska, and I would highly recommend this stay!
We had eight people staying here ages 69-90. This place is emaculate. The owners are amazing. What a great place to stay and connect with our friends. We were here for our granddaughters wedding. What a great weekend!
We are in Bog Lake for a family wedding. 7 of us including the grand children (9,7,and 4). All of us were fascinated with the dogs and puppies, and Martin and Kathy were very kind
Wonderful "fairytail" staircase with delightfully decorated rooms. Spacious rooms to roll about and enjoy a good scratch. Iditarod heaven!!! Woof woof shout out to the bunny boot inspecting maintenance mayor!
We had a growing of 8 staying at the property. We all loved having our own bathrooms! Beautiful property. If you are an animal lover, you will love the kennel right there on the property with amazing sled dog athletes, we were lucky enough to be there when there were puppies to see and pet! The owners were readily available, very welcoming , and made sure that we had everything we needed. We had ample space to spread out, hang out, and cook. Loved the decor, lovely whimsical touches throughout the house. Appreciated the washer and dryer in the basement! We were in Alaska for a 50th weddings anniversary and we were in a great location to visit family and sightsee north and south of us. Highly recommend staying here!!
We enjoyed our stay. The setting, which is on a working dog kennel, is unique. We aren’t a dog family ourselves, but we loved watching the dogs and the activities around the kennel, which were peaceful and lovely. Reading about the Iditarod and the owner’s experience racing in it was fascinating. We were thrilled that the hosts left us a generous spread of breakfast foods, and we made good use of them. The house used to run as a B&B and it’s spacious, with each room having its own theme and attached bathroom. Finally, this is probably not a surprise, but if you stay in a town called “Big Lake” in Alaska in summertime, you will encounter mosquitos. Bug spray was provided at the house. We enjoyed a terrific dinner nearby at Susitna Brewing Co.
