Fox Kit Cottage offers an exciting ocean experience in sumptuous comfort. As you scroll through the pictures you will see there is nothing in Bodega Bay like it. Well-appointed, it has two bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed, the other with two twin beds, and one bathroom. It is perfect for a romantic getaway or a vacation for a small family.

With its remodel in 2011and further enhancements in 2018, the cottage continues as an upscale retreat for its owners and guests. Sitting above Wright’s Beach, views dominate from nearly every room, and intense ocean scenes are customary. From the beautifully designed deck and spa, you will relax, unwind, and feel what the power of the sea can do for your soul.

The ocean is not the only attraction. There is wildlife everywhere. Birds, whales, and fox (the cottage’s namesake) are just a sampling. From two short paths – Monterey Pine Path, and Bluff Path, you will enjoy the coastal landscape and incredible views. The spacious lot hosts a majestic, intricately intertwined, 40-year old Monterey Pine tree, with a path under its canopy and a stone bench to sit and admire natural arbor artistry. The Bluff Path takes you down to a bench amongst the freshwater springs, flowering foliage, with the vast ocean below.

Furnishings reflect a commitment to clean contemporary design, local art, and attention to detail. Amenities include quality bedding, thick bath towels and robes, and natural toiletries, setting this home apart from others. Our stay at Fox Kit Cottage in March was exceptional! The house was clean, well equipped and perfect for a girls’ weekend getaway. Loved sitting on the deck overlooking the surf looking for migrating whales. The hot tub was a great way to relax after spending the day in Wine Country or hiking at Armstrong Woods. Our host, Beth, was very friendly, helpful and easy to communicate with. Loved the beach access from Duncan’s Landing and the landscaping around the house was amazing! I would definitely recommend Fox Kit Cottage without any reservations and only wish I lived closer so I could come back again soon!!

A beautiful property. House was very clean and the views were amazing. Well stocked with household necessities. Bathroom was quite small and somewhat hazardous for taller people with a sloped ceiling that was challenging. Hot tub was not as hot as we would have liked and we were unable to adjust the temperature. Minor issues with ants. Overall a great stay.

Easy to find. The views from the balcony are amazing! Only issue we had was the deck paint is peeling and would stick to your feet. Walk to the beach was nice. Would recommend to anyone looking to relax in Bodega. Make sure you eat at The Fishetarian and the sandwiches at Pelican Plaza are awesome.

This was our 2nd time at this property. The house was neat and clean, perfect space for a small family. Great location, near many beaches and also close to town, and you cannot beat the view. There was a couple maintenance issues that were in the process of being repaired, but Beth the host was very accommodating to us and made our stay even better. We will definitely stay here again!

Fox Kit evaluation.Positives; exquisite gardens front and back. Amazing cypress tree. Clean and well -organized kitchen and well-appointed home. Amazing view and lovely beach to walk.Negatives; small and low-ceiling bathroom. Front porch could use chaise lounge chairs and outdoor fan as flies were quite a bother. Hot tub temp was good but too much chlorine. TV difficult to use. Wanted to play some videos but no direction on how to use the video player. Master bedroom better placed in front of home for view and sound of the ocean.Overall, a positive experience but room for improvement on the conveniences. Change cleaner solution from Pinesol. Took hours to air the place out.

We feel so lucky that we were able to stay in this beautiful cottage by the sea (FoxKit Cottage!) for 3 nights. The beauty of the area and the sea just enveloped us while we were in the cottage. We were always excited to get back to our little oasis after a long day out! Beth, the host was so warm and made sure we knew that she was easily available just in case. The directions, internet and access were a breeze. The location of this gem was perfect! We hiked Shell beach to Goat rock nearby then enjoyed a quick drive into cut Guerneville to view and smell the Redwoods at Armstrong Nature reserve. It was super close to Jenner where we kayaked the Russian River along side seals and viewed Bald Eagles leaving their nests in the trees on the banks. Sebastopol and Healdsburg are also w/in easy reach for wine country and beautiful town shopping experiences. The place is well appointed, modern which made it so very easy to enjoy our travel. The hot tub was such a nice amenity! And the gardens… unbelievable!!!We highly recommend this gorgeous little place. It absolutely added to and was a huge piece of the amazing trip we experienced.
