About this property

Rustic Authentic Off-grid Log Cabin 15 minutes from Kingdom Trails

This custom built 4 bedroom log cabin is located in an extremely private setting on 40 acres of property with a large swimming pond and beautiful views of this gorgeous, unspoiled corner of Vermont. The property is off a dead end road and near hundreds of acres of conserved land so it is a true get away. If you can't travel without your hair dryer than this isn't the place for you, but if you love the great outdoors this rustic retreat is sure to please. One king bed, one queen(in the loft), a double and 4 bunks provide ample sleeping for two families in 3 bedrooms and a loft. This home is off-grid so it is rustic, but well equipped with a gas fridge, gas stove and a solar powered electrical system with a back up generator. One bathroom with a double shower and huge tub provide a perfect solution to the sore muscles that are inevitable after a long day of mountain biking on the Kingdom Trails in East Burke, VT or summiting one of the area peaks.

Perfect Getaway
We managed to be lucky enough to book this cabin just as all of the leaves turned so it was like being in a painting. The land is beautiful to walk and the views are amazing. The cabin itself is very cozy and has great character. The kitchen was very convenient and I loved cooking on that stove, and the bathroom was clean and well kept as well. It was great to unplug, read, and relax for a while. Hopefully we will be able to go back again.

Beautiful Lodge
This place is perfection. No complaints at all about the lodge and the amenities provided. Great price, great location, everything about this place was just wonderful. Would strongly recommend if you're comparing places that you just choose this lodge. You won't regret it! VRBO Issues: Had some minor issues with the external process and incorrect information on the page listing, but both matters were resolved promptly. It should be noted that after you pay and make a reservation you're asked to send a copy of your government ID, but VRBO platform doesn't support securely sharing this information. This is a VRBO problem and not an owner problem as the request itself is not unreasonable. Also, there's a $50 cleaning fee but visitors are required to clean the lodge themselves--honestly for the value price of this amazing lodge, it's not really an issue, but it still should be noted, because you're contractually obligated to be your own cleaning crew--yet contractually obligated to pay for one.

Cozy
We love everything about the property. This is our second year in a row staying here. We love the remoteness. Has everything you need. It’s a beautiful place to get away and relax. We’ll be back!

Beautiful cabin in the woods
We loved staying at this cabin, though there were a couple things we wish we'd known before checking in. The first was that there is a very steep and narrow spiral staircase to get to three of the door bedrooms. We knew this going in because of another review but it would be nice to have a picture. The second is that there is a very high well wall (about two and a half feet to get into the shower which wasn't a problem for us but could be for folks with limited mobility. That said, we had a great time! The pond was beautiful and the perfect temperature for swimming, our teenage daughter enjoyed walking the trails around the property, the kitchen was stocked with everything we might need, beds were comfortable, and it was the perfect place to disconnect. John was great about answering my many questions, and we loved looking up at the clearest stars we had ever seen. We've been to many cabins over the years, and this was a favorite.
