When the locals are impressed...
Twice on the trip, bartenders said ‘Ooh - is that the place where you get your own pool?’ If locals are impressed, you have to be staying somewhere unique. The place was neat and clean and served as a good base to stay and explore the island. The kitchenette was small and functional. One gripe - the couch in our unit was so uncomfortable, it’s makes the living room a bit unusable because there’s nowhere comfortable to sit, but that’s nitpicking. On the whole we loved the place and the sheer awesomeness of having your own private pool cannot be overstated.
Thanks for staying with us!
We are so glad you enjoyed the property and all it has to offer.
Thanks for the heads up on the couch we will be sure to address it.
Come again soon!
Unbeatable accommodations, everything you need and then some. Close to Red Hook, convenient for shopping, dining or the ferry. Can’t wait to return.
Amazing! The pictures dont do this place justice! Perfect location on island
Went here on our honeymoon, perfect! Cant beat the price either. This is not a hotel, keep that in mind, more like a complex of private condos. Im sure 20-30 years ago this place was $500+ a night. The outdoor portion is probably the same size as the indoor side. Entire wall facing the pool is glass, which was awesome. Very private, and for the most part didnt see many other guests at all. 5 minute walk down to sapphire beach and marina, which had beautiful views and is not crowded at all. 1 mile from everything you need in red hook, including the ferry. Would not suggest that walk though, busy road and no sidewalks. I loved the modern look and decor of this unit. Only cons, water pressure in shower and the black coach is on its last leg. Thank you Jason for letting us stay and for your quick response. Will recommend to friends and would definitely stay here again.
Una experiencia inolvidable sin dudas que regresare otra vez
¡Me alegra que la hayas pasado muy bien y espero volver a nuestra villa!
Everything was adequate
We were not given the villa as pictured, and the one we were given did not have a view whatsoever. Also, the unit we stayed in was certainly not as nice as the one that was pictured, but it wasn't the pits either. All and all, I'd say the title of my review sums it up: everything was adequate. Nothing more but also nothing less. Sapphire beach was a short walk and really beautiful. We rented a car to explore more areas. Not sure we'd stay here again.
Large space and a great manager
The unit is large - 1,200 sq. ft! There is a separate bedroom and a living room and dining area. The sink is outside of the bathroom with a good-sized counter and the shower is really nice. There was plenty of hot water and the pressure was good.
The patio was private from 3 sides. It has a grill, a table with 2 chairs, 2 loungers, and the pool. The pool is larger than a lap pool and looked great, but was way too cold. I had seen that other people had mentioned that the water was cold and thought they might be exaggerating. They were not. I can not figure out how this pool does not warm up in the sun. I said that the patio was private in 3 sides. The 4th side was the neighbor's and when we walked his dogs in the yard, he could see us and we him. I thought that this was a pet free place, but no, I had yapping little dogs next door.
When this unit was first created, it was very modern and pretty cool. It is now time to redecorate. It is also *very* much time to re-paint. I would call this unit shabby chic, but the couch with the tears in it was the most uncomfortable couch I have even used.
The bad - the couch! The dogs next door. The shabbiness. I liked being away from the cruise ships, although I wish that there were more affordable choices of places to eat in Red Hook. I could not bring myself to pay $25 for a plate of spaghetti.
The good - the patio is (sort of) private and the unit is large. I do not think that you will find another place in St. Thomas that offers this much space for the price. We had all of the things we needed for the kitchen. There were enough towels and housekeeping came twice during our 10 day stay. The manager, Jason, was a wonderful communicator. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful, especially Donette. She is a lovely woman! This is very close to Sapphire, Coki, and Lindquist beaches. It is 5 minutes from Red Hook & the ferry.
Overall - yes, I think that would stay here again and would definitely do so if that couch is replaced. For the price, this is a great deal in St. Thomas.
Lindquist Beach is fabulous. It is worth paying to get in as this means that there are far, far less people there. If you go to the right side, it is grassy and you will see sea turtles and rays.
You can get good (and cheap) fried chicken and fish at Chester's - 4 minutes way (toward Coki). You can get good local food at the food truck that is on the right on the road as you pass Red Hook. Pueblo grocery - best prices.
This property is perfect for those who love privacy and nature! just a stroll to Sapphire Beach One of the top beaches on the island! quick ride on the 'safari' the local bus to Red Hook great restaurants, shops and the ferry to St Johns USVI & the BVI's ! For the golfers, you are a quick ride to Mahogany Run Golf Course and The Devil's Triangle. Not to mention the island has some of the best shopping in the Caribbean!
