Just Listed: Izaty's Beach Villa With Pottery Barn Inspired Updates
I am still trying to decide which season is my favorite at Izatys!
Once the snow falls, the resort is transformed into a winter wonderland! Besides ice fishing, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing, we also have some of the finest cross country ski trails in the entire state! You can chose to relax by the fire, or get out in the snow and enjoy everything Minnesota winters have to offer!
Spring is a magical time to spend watching the glistening mountains of ice break up on the lake. Each day your view will change and you are sure to see something new!
In the summer, you can play a round of golf on our fabulous golf course one day and rent a boat from the marina the next! You and your family should be able to get their fill of swimming in the lake and in the pool.
At the end of the day, fry up your catch in the full kitchen or try your hand at BBQing it on the charcoal grill. If the weather is nice, you can dine on the porch or fold up the table and bring it lakeside!
If you don't feel like cooking, it's a very short walk to our award winning restaurant or choose from one of the many popular restaurants in the nearby towns!
After dinner, you can play tennis or our favorite, pickle ball, and then enjoy the sunset from the living room, screened porch, or on the master bedroom balcony.
As the night's cool air sets in, start a fire in the stone fireplace or head out under the stars to one of the outdoor fire pits to roast marshmallows and tell tall tales.
Fall is simply stunning! Along with the beautiful changing colors, the sunsets are absolutely outstanding! You will want to pack your golf clubs and fishing pole! Fall is a perfect time to roast hot dogs lakeside on the bon fire:)
As you can see, ANYTIME of year is a great time to be at Izatys! If it rains, you can always try your luck at the Grand Casino Mille Lacs just 20 minutes away and they will even come and pick you up and drop you off at our door;)

Listing is exactly what you get. Well furnished , clean and lots of activities within community. Sunsets on the shore are the perfect way to end your day.
Perfect condo for your family at the lake. Large sliding glass doors allows the lake sounds and breeze to enter the first floor. Plenty of kitchen amenities, toys and games for children and comfortable outdoor chairs.
What a wonderful place to stay. Fully stocked and great view. The location for us was perfect. Just walking distance to the pool and club house. We were in the center of everything. The place was decorated very nice and the place was comfortable for us and for entertaining family. We look forward to staying there again.

Our family really enjoyed our 3 night stay. The condo was nicely decorated, modern & clean with lake view. We brought our boat and the marina was very nice with weather co-operating for fishing. Golf was a nice addition to our family fun. Highly rated for our stay.
Our family wants to come back,.......See you next year!
The property was much like the listing. Had nice walk out to the lake side and air conditioning great for our hot stay. There were enough beds for everyone. Everything in the cabin was working and available. Short walk to pool, docking area, and pickleball!
We loved the place and Betsy is a wonderful communicator. Great location -- Can see the pool from the front door - walked to it every day. Enjoyed the indoor screen porch while it rained. Very detailed in the cottage... toys for the young ones, games for the older ones, barbequed in the back by the lake, even LOTS of spices and s'mores ready to go. AND... the most beautiful sunsets we've seen in a very long time. Would definitely go back again. Fits 6 people comfortably.

Needed a good cleaning
The location and resort amenities were good. The rental unit was just so dirty. We vacuumed and swept some and had to wash one set of sheets before my daughter would use it. The stains did come out upon washing which tells me they were never washed. We had to pre-wash all dishes used as they were all dirty. The webs and bugs in corners were really disgusting. It’s just too bad because I think with a real good cleaning and some maintenance it could be great.

Adequate Accomodations
The paperwork information was not all accurate and obviously outdated. Many local websites were also outdated. The condo was a little gross with dirt, hair and who knows what smeared on the back of the bathroom doors.
Lots of stuff and cobwebs in and on chandeliers, window sills and corners filled with dust, cobwebs and dead bugs. Carpet on main floor was very stained and first thing you see when opening the door. I would suggest new cleaners. With that being said, the layout of the condo worked wonderful for our group of women
and we slept great in the comfortable beds. Plenty of chairs and table space. A/C worked great. Nice showers and never ran out of hot water. Gorgeous sunsets over the lake right out the back door. Well stocked kitchen, bathrooms, linens and towels.
This is not a 5-five star luxury condo: if you want a fun lake cabin, this works!
Checking in and getting access was no problems.
Overall cleanliness was less than expected, but the overall space was very comfortable.
We stayed during early December, and it was snowy and cold. There was a lot of wood for the fireplace which we used, but the patio doors did not seem to seal very well against the wind. The heating system worked well, but took a while to figure it out.
Since this was a December stay, there was no other resort facilities open, and the lake was starting to freeze, so we spent our time indoors.
In summary, this was a very fun stay. It was what we expected in that the unit had most of what we needed (dishes, pots/pans, etc), and it had the relaxed "cabin" feel with comfortable furniture and furnishings.
If there is something that you really need, I would suggest you bring it, as the kitchen items are adequate, but basic.
I think that summer would be a very fun place to stay, but early winter in Minnesota is usually pretty bleak.
The property had everythingy we needed to relax and catch up with family.

About the host

My husband and I have been married for 35 years and have 5 children. Over the past few years, our family has grown and we now have 5 grandchildren:)
Why they chose this property
When I was a child, my parents brought me to Izatys, so I have many happy memories here! When my husband Tim and I started our family, we continued the tradition my parents had started and we brought our small children to Izatys. This all ended when Dorthy and Jerry Dubbs sold the resort we had known and loved...Somehow, it just wasn't the same. So, we started traveling the country, always in search of the perfect resort but each time, something seemed to be missing...Ironically, two years ago, we returned to Izatys on a whim for a short get away, and we were delighted to discover what we were searching for was here at Izatys all the time! Once again we are continuing the tradition and we are making wonderful new memories with our grandchildren:)
What makes this property unique
The lake has this magical feel about it and it reminds me of being at the ocean! It is constantly changing and It is ALWAYS BEAUTIFUL! As far as the villa is concerned, what can I say! I put a lot of thought into decorating it and hopefully you will enjoy it! We find it a most relaxing place to stay! My husband and I could listen to the waves for hours. During the time we have stayed here, we discovered there is a popular fishing hole straight out from our door so we always know when the fish are biting because sometimes the boats stay in that spot for hours! Every trip into any of the nearby towns is an adventure with wonderful restaurants to try and charming shops along the way. We make it a special point to go into Isle on Saturdays for the Farmers Market. We love getting fresh eggs and fresh asparagus among other things:) Teals Grocery Store in Isle is wonderful so I don't feel like I have to shop before we leave. They have it all and is quite reasonably priced for a resort area! When it comes right down to it, I haven't found anything I don't like about owning at Izatys. In fact, the most difficult thing about being there is knowing one day I will have to go home. We hope you will enjoy our lake home just as much as we do and feel free to make it your home away from home during your stay!
