The Old Nest has been in our family for over 100 years and we welcome our guests to share in our piece of heaven. When staying at The Old Nest, you have access to several nature trails on a private 9-acre estate as well as the convenience of being close to town and the Kelleys Island Ferry.

Resting on lakefront property, The Old Nest offers stunning waterfront views, free wi-fi, a bonfire pit, BBQ grill and enough land to customize your own outdoor experience. To enjoy your vacation contact:

Peaceful and tranquil retreat

Great little spot overlooking the lake. Coffee on the porch in the mornings, nightcap on the bench just on the edge of shore (see pic). A great little retreat to refresh and recharge. “Just bring your luggage” as the host expressed as everything needed and requested was furnished and available. Looking forward to working with, and booking with again. Much appreciated!

Family togetherness

Beautiful historic home. We loved being able to walk to town and could not have been happier with our stay. The old gliders on the front porch got lots of use while we gazed at the lake.

Great spot!

Location was perfect. It is a challenge finding a house with enough space for 4-5 couples to stay comfortably on the island. This place was able to accommodate my siblings and their spouses with a good amount of space. It’s like an old farm house, reminds me of my grandparents family home. There are some random spiders and things, so if you aren’t accustomed to country living it may not be the spot for you. Overall It was a clean home and comfortable enough for the 3 couples and two singles that could make the trip this year. We would stay here again.

Gorgeous view!

Great view and relaxing front porch. Well stocked. Authentic cottage! We did pull out the vacuum to get rid of some of the spider webs (which I get, we are near the lake), and it smelled like the bag hadn't been changed in years.

Mini vacation

The view was beautiful! We were able to walk to the grocery and some restaurants. We bought our car along. Very few places to park on the island. The house was infested with spider webs and spiders. We wondered if that’s a island thing? We spent most of our time on the porch. Enjoyed the coffee at the house. I doubt we will recommend the house because of the spiders and over priced for this stay.

Fantastic family get away!

My family of 10 adults stayed this past weekend. The house was very comfortable! Space space space! We all enjoyed how much space we had, loved the 5 bedrooms, beds comfortable. So nice to have towels and linens supplied. Thoroughly enjoyed everything about this home and the views could not ne better! We have a big crew and all were very happy! Amanda was quick to respond fantastic to work with! 1st stay at Kelley's as we usually go to Put In Bay. Could not be happier! We plan to book again and for a longer stay and at a time when kids can island hop if they choose too! This house is 100% for us!

End of Summer Lake Gettaway!

Positives: Great part of town-close to ferry-lake front! Spacious House-lotsa bedrooms-good showers-good bath towels that smell good…Great yard, small fire pit by lake that is very nice and awesome porch with nice swings! Negatives: Housekeeper’s Big Dogs left fresh Stanley steamer dog pile of Pooh that was disgusting for us to clean up by steps!!! All The windows and sills covered in spider webs debree and dirt and gross stuff in every window totally gross-everywhere- House totally filled with SPIDERS everywhere and I mean everywhere- Woke up with them crawling on me! And have two bites on my legs- They covered the ceilings in dining and living g room and bathrooms- I killed like 17 spiders but there was still 20 more I couldn’t reach- Totally horrible! I have gone on camping trips and lived in a tent with less bugs! And I love the outdoors! I have owned lake houses before and this is totally fowl! Plus there were fresh mice Turds every morning n the kitchen snd i. The utensil drawer’s! How unsanitary! And the door knobs came off- Unsatisfactory to say the least! Will never stay here again and can not recommend- I’d say their housekeeper stinks-and the owners don’t care or have never set foot in the house in years! I’ve read the reviews and the owner gives smarter remarks to people who give negative reviews! Unprofessional!

We ABSOLUTELY LOVED staying at The Old Nest! The cozy feeling home was spacious, clean, warm and welcoming. You can feel the love and laughter that is still echoing through out the home from generations past of a family that once called it their private home. The view was breathtaking from a very large porch adorned with comfy old fashioned porch swings! As sunset, we enjoyed sitting by the edge of the lake with a little fire in the fire pit. A quick 5 minute walk to downtown made it very easy for our family of 6 adults and 3 little ones, 2 and under, to get to. Amanda was very easy to communicate with. Just can’t say enough about how special this home is…
