We had the best time at Salvo’s place. The house is super comfortable, all what you might need is provided, incl. basic consumables like coffee, oil, sugar, but also laundry soap, hand paper, toilet paper, shampoo etc. So this makes the first couple of days very easy, no need to run to a supermarket for instance (of course you might need to refill what you use up). We basically lived outdoors all day long, as a nice kitchen, an amazing shower and a spaceful garden were really all what we needed (and if it wasn’t too cold, we could even sleep outside on the comfortable chairs). We very much liked to just drop our stuff in/out the car without needing the climb stairs, walk to a parking slot etc — which was great for all the children stuff + stroller. Only downside were the roads and circulation around, which really discouraged us from walking/biking to the sea or downtown. However, we could always park like 10 meters from the beach or near any place we went, so, considering the hot weather (end of July), it was maybe the best option anyway.
Marzamemi is beautiful, but we also enjoyed some sites nearby, e.g. the Archimede technopark in Siracusa (very intersting for kids of all ages), obviously Noto and more.
The sea is clean , transparent and warm, tourism is not massive, and definitely a come-back region for us!
