About this property
Pretty stone house in the castle of S.Apollinare XI Cent.
Saint Apollinare is a charming battlemented fortress enclosing two courtyards. Built in the 11th Century, it used to be part of a ring of castles protecting the southern side of the medieval town of Perugia.
In the 13th century the Abbot controlling the Castle is forced to yield it up in return for protection to the noble Graziani family. The Grazianis lived there for over 400 years.
The Castle has always been inhabited, therefore beautifully keeping today its original structure.
The wonderful panorama of the hilly countryside reminds of the fine works of the Umbria's master painters of the 14th century. Remarkably, a fresco by Pietro Vannucci (widely known as 'Il Perugino') can be admired in the church of the nearby town of Cerqueto.

Favolosa ambientazione e bella casa in pietra
Ringrazio molto i proprietari che sono stati gentilissimi e vorrei consigliare questa casa a tutti gli amanti della natura, del relax e a chi ama viaggiare. La casa si presenta in un posto molto tranquillo e la natura circostante è qualcosa di magnifico, abbiamo trascorso la nostra vacanza viaggiando per tutti i paesi dell'Umbria che consiglio vivamente di visitare perchè molto caratteristici e nel tempo che rimaneva abbiamo deciso di visitare la zona. Poco sopra al castello c'è un monastero dove vale la pena arrivare e sotto c'è un percorso ciclabile con un piccolo fiume che abbiamo deciso di costeggiare nel più completo relax. Siamo entusiasti per la scelta di aver aver soggiornato in un posto così caratteristico, spero che ci torneremo in futuro!

Amazing experience in a house inside the castle!
A spectacular stay, living in a house inside a castle was an amazing experience. It seems that time has stopped and only calm and tranquility reigns. The house is beautiful and characteristic, furnished with taste. It is situated in a very convenient location for visiting all Umbria and central Italy, a few miles from Lake Trasimeno and other cities of tourist interest such as Perugia, Todi, Orvieto, Castiglione del Lago, Gubbio, Siena, Cortona, Bevagna etc.. I recommend everyone to stay in this place, thanks to the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners.
