Located 1 mile from the polo grounds. Close enough to walk or ride to the polo grounds, Large fenced yard with Palm Trees, birds of Paradise, hibiscus, fruit trees, potted flowers in the yard & around the pool. View from the backyard runs across 2 fairways and the driving range of the golf course. The kitchen includes a granite island in the kitchen, tile counter-tops. gas cook top, tile floors throughout house, new tile floors in all of the bedrooms. Added privacy with a beautiful courtyard entry with new quarry tile surrounding the tile with a nice water fountain. There’s a gas fireplace in living room. #1 Bedroom has a Master king bed, Bedroom #2 has a queen bed, Bedroom #3 bunk bed with twin bed on top, double bed on bottom bunk, couch in the front room is a pull-out double bed, Queen size Aero bed available if needed. Large master bedroom has tiled glassblock shower with 2 shower heads, large soaking tub, double sinks. #2 bathroom has Southwest decorative sink, tub/shower combo. Laundry room with washer/dryer. 47' & 32' flat screen TV's in the master and queen bedrooms, large 60' TV in living room with surround sound, Gas barbecue available. Outdoor furniture. The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Leave the keys on the dining room table. Lock the door with the code please.
Be sure to leave the garbage out
Water the indoor plants
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
If the AC or the pool heat is used excessively we will use the deposit to cover the expense. We will monitor the SoCal gas bill during your stay.
The pool will not be heated unless requested by the client. The cost for heating the pool is not included in the rent.
The house must be rented for 30 days or more. This is not our rule. This is the rule of the city of Indio.

Relaxing Stay in the Desert

My husband and I stayed here for a week and had a wonderful time. The backyard pool and garden are beautiful; we enjoyed morning coffee, afternoon dips in the pool and happy hour every day! The home has a nice southwestern vibe and was very comfortable for the two of us and our dog. The house is well equipped and included a very comfortable bed in the master. Despite the temps being in the 90's, the house never got too warm and we slept with just the fans going and windows open. We would definitely stay here again.

Exactly as advertised

The listing for this property is 100 accurate. The bedding was comfortable, bathrooms beautiful, towels and towels and towels. the kitchen was nicely equipped with everything that you could need. Living room and dining table perfect for our family of four however it could fit 6 easily. The pool and outdoor area also great. We didn't eat outside because of the heat during August but in another season the outdoor dining table is large and nice seating, plenty of chaise lounge options as well. The yard is very private from the neighbors and looks out onto the golf course however the layout keeps the golfers well away from the house. I did not feel like anyone was "watching" us as we were in the pool. We would definitely stay here again. Owners were very quick to communicate with any of our questions before and during our stay and were able to answer them sufficiently.

First Snowbird Experience

Such a lovely location amid the Indian Palms Country Club Resort area! The home is classic Californian-Southwest style with it's very own courtyard and beautiful luscious green grass in the back yard to wiggle your toes upon. PROS: (1) The KITCHEN! Every utensil you could EVER need or use is available and top of the line appliances to boot! We enjoyed the Traeger grill/smoker so very much! ((BTW we found that Ralph's had a wonderful selection of meats!)) (2) ABUNDANCE of beach towels, toiletries - including blow dryers, and cleaning supplies. You really don't need to bring much more than your clothes, swimsuit, and some sunscreen. Everything you need is here! (3) FRUIT TREES - All the lemons you could possibly want! The pompilios were amazing as well (we learned the difference between grapefruit and pompilios)! We made homemade lemonade and even juiced some pompilios. So delicious! (4) SUN - the backyard and outdoor patio area faces the West, so during our stay in January and February, the sun was warm and comforting even on the chilliest of days. (5) POOL - The large and lengthy pool is perfect for exercising AND lounging/floating. Five lounge chairs, two separate tables with seating for four and eight respectively, three umbrellas, and even a propane gas rock top fire pit for entertaining outside! (6) HOT TUB/SPA - Perfect. We used the hot tub on a daily basis. Nothing more relaxing after a day on the golf course! SUGGESTIONS: When contracting to heat the pool, ask for sole control and come to an agreement on days of use and temperature setting. This home is wonderful and contact with the owners is spot on. Every concern/need is addressed immediately.

Tropical Desert Retreat

I enjoyed my month long stay in Shelly and Larry's beautiful home. It has a tropical vibe and beautiful pool and yard. My two dogs loved the size of the yard, which has plenty of grass and is completely fenced in. It is a great location with views of the golf course, but set-back enough to have privacy in the pool area. Shelly and Larry were excellent hosts. They were very fast to respond to my questions and were very helpful throughout my stay. I would definitely recommend this home to others.

We can't wait to come back!!

Shelly and Larry are incredible hosts and their home is BEAUTIFUL, clean, comfortable, and spacious. They made us feel at home and completely welcomed. They were always available, very accommodating, and added special touches like fresh flowers and blown-up floaties in the pool to make us go "wow" when we walked in. The location is ideal and so close to the Empire Polo Fields, an easy and short walk. I cannot wait to come back!!

Backyard is the best!

It is lovely to sit outside and listen to the birdsong, swim laps in the pool, read a book or entertain a few friends. The homeowners are very responsive to any concern, and obviously love this property. We were in this rental for six weeks and Shelly and Larry were easy to work with. The property is a bit worn, but they are starting to upgrade the interior of the house. The renovated master suite and bath are top notch!

A Staycation Relaxation.

What a great place. Shelly was great always communicating with us. Checking in to see how everything was or if we needed anything. The place was perfect for me and my family. The pool is awesome 50 foot long wow. Great location can not wait to go back. Thank you Shelly.

Perfect Desert Oasis

If you are looking for a Desert Oasis, look no further, this place has it all! Shelly and Larry have a beautiful 3 bedroom home on the golf course in Indio, with a fabulous swimming pool, that is beautifully landscaped. The house is stylishly decorated and has everything you might want to be indoors or outdoors. We highly recommend Shelly and Larry's vacation home, just bring your swimsuit and toothbrush, high end products and fluffy towels await!

Great spot!

My husband and I stayed for a few days on our own and then had friends come visit us for the weekend. It was the perfect home for us and our two small dogs. Gorgeous pool and our friends loved it too. We had such a great trip!

Comfortable and cozy

We had a wonderful time in this spacious, well maintained home. Larry was a pleasure to work with. The back yard is a special little sanctuary with a beautiful pool and lots of seating for company. The property was clean, well supplied with linens, and a well stocked kitchen. The master bedroom was huge and I would stay again just for the shower in the master suite. Thanks again for everything. Excellent home with amazing views

We stayed here for a month and had our friends also visit us during that time. Everyone enjoyed this place. Pool and SPA were great. House is spacious and bedrooms are separated to provide complete privacy. Owners (Larry & Shelly) were very friendly and responsive to our needs from start to finish. Views of the golf course and the mountains from Kitchen, Living room and rear patio were amazing. Only suggestion we had for the owners to see if a half or 3/4 Bath can be added close to the third bedroom. We will definitely return and recommend this place to our friends.

This house suited us perfectly.

This was a great house for us. We have dogs and it has a beautiful yard, fully fenced, with a great view of the golf course. There is a dog door which we greatly appreciated. The house was plenty large enough for the four of us and our dogs. The master bedroom was very large, as was the master bath and the closet. The second bedroom was fine. The second bathroom is attached to the second bedroom and also has a hall entry. The third bedroom is on the other side of the house and does not have a bathroom near it. This wasn't a problem for us because there were only two couples. The kitchen was great for us as we like to cook and there is a nice barbecue outside. We did have a lot of problems heating the pool and spa due to a faulty remote controller. The owner is working on getting this problem fixed. Because of it we did not get to use the pool as much as we would have liked. But it's a great property and we would gladly rent there again next year. I would highly recommend it.

My husband and I have been in education business for the past 30 years We are both retired now but like to take off in our RV & travel while renting our place. Larry was an administrator and served as a superintendent/principal and teacher. He had the top job as a superintendent at the end of his career. He is now retired but keeps himself busy selling real estate part time. He is also taking on the challenge of traveling overseas. I have been retired from teaching & coaching for 3years now. I continue to have hobbies that include golf and horseback riding and love my 3 French bulldogs & my Quarter horse Ziggy . Our Family includes our two adult daughters Leia & Kelli, son in-laws Matt & Shawn and our 4 grandchildren Hailey, Bode, Brynna & Jeslyn.

Why they chose this property

This property is one of the best in the Indian Palms community. Outstanding view. Our backyard view runs across 2 fairways and the driving range. We have lived in the Indian Palms country club community for the past 20 years. We spent many years with Larry's dad, Rudy Johnson who owned a home on Hepburn drive for years until he passed away several years ago. Since then we had enjoyed staying in his house with his widow, Emily. Ten years ago we decided to purchase our own home and love to visit and stay here. Our property is located on the ninth fairway of the Royal course. It has the benefit of having a big beautiful backyard with a saltwater lap pool and a spa. The pool lights up at night and is quite a sight when you are sitting out on the deck enjoying the view. It also has a great view during the day as you have the benefit of seeing across two fairways and the driving range to the other side of the community. It also is unique in that it has a Southwest theme throughout the home with stucco and Hispanic extras here and there. We enjoy a courtyard with a fountain when you enter the property and it's a nice private place to sit out in the morning and drink fresh squeezed lemonade & grapefruit juice. Have a grapefruit and a Meijer lemon tree in the backyard.
We think it's reasonably priced when looking at the other listings.
