The apartment is in Cuirone, a quiet village surrounded by the greenery of the Ticino Park, 15 km away. from Malpensa and 10 minutes from Lake Maggiore. It is furnished with care and originality, with kitchenette, large veranda, air conditioning and free WIFI (finally with faster connection), the car park is open at about 30 m. or in the nearby square.
In the village there are two good restaurants within walking distance of the house, supermarkets are about 1.5 km away.

The cleaning and sanitation of the pre and post-stay accommodation, the emptying, removal and cleaning of waste containers, are carried out exclusively by the owner and according to the guidelines for prevention issued during the coronavirus pandemic.
The daily cleaning of the house is instead carried out according to the practice by the guests, who have at their disposal cleaning materials and products, containers and bags for separate waste collection, sanitizing gel and disposable gloves.
We trust in the personal sense of responsibility of the guests and recommend that you continue to follow the precautionary health instructions correctly.

Thanks, also for the patience for the weak wi-fi signal that doesn't depend on my router. The arrival of broadband in this place has been foreseen for some time but since we are few inhabitants, it is still not there. It is the 'price' that you pay for a vacation away from the stress of being connected every minute.

We have stayed at this charming, traditional Italian apartment many times over a 15 year period. The host Miranda speaks fluent English and is very accommodating with requests, if she is able to oblige. The location is only 25 minutes from Malpensa Airport and offers easy driving access to the lakes and mountains. Highly recommended for a relaxing break

Very nice stay in a cute little house

The owner is very kind and welcoming. The house is very nice and cosy with a nice large balcony. The owners build the appartement by themselves and used beautifull authenthic elements. Our dog was more than welcome. We loved our stay in Cuirone, a small quiet village.

Holydays in Cuirone

Despite a period of bad weather, we had a very pleasant stay at the Baubaus House. The apartment is equipped with everything you need, and the option to heat was also very welcome. Miranda is a very warm hostess and always concerned about the well-being of her guests.

Unique stay at the countryside

The hospitality of the owner Miranda is amazing. The house is lovely, unique and nice to stay. The terrace has the sun in the morning and is very cosy to sit in the evening. The decoration is original and very charming. All you need to for your comfort is available. The surrounding is very quiet. It’s a perfect escape from everyday’s rush!

Aan alles in dit knusse huisje kun je zien dat het met heel veel passie is gebouwd. De eigenaresse vertelde met liefde over het ontstaan ervan en waarom het huisje zo heet. Echt een aanrader voor mensen die van een eigenzinnige overnachting houden in een mooie bosrijke omgeving. Alleen niet geschikt voor degenen die van luxe houden of slecht ter been zijn. Die begrijpen vast de originele waarde van deze plek niet. Dank je Miranda voor het fijne verblijf. Ondanks de regen hebben wij genoten van ons verblijf!!!

Echappée belle !

Très agréable séjour. Nous étions déjà venus en 2015 et nous avons eu envie de revenir, autant pour la région que pour la jolie et insolite maison Baubaus. La maison, dans un village calme, entourée de verdure, propose avec sa grande terrasse ombragée un lieu idéal pour se ressourcer. Bien située, non loin des lacs, elle permet de découvrir un patrimoine naturel et culturel riche. Et enfin, Miranda est une hôte très accueillante, disponible qui a su aussi nous faire participer aux festivités de Cuirone. Nous recommandons !

Que dire de plus ? Ces 5 jours dans ce petit coin de paradis qu'est Cuirone furent idylliques. Miranda est très accueillante, très bienveillante et elle vous donnera des adresses pépites.. Notre fille a fêté ces 6 ans dans ce précieux cocon est nous garderons en tête ce souvenir pour toujours. Nous avons bien ri, bien mangé, bien bu, et c'est aussi un endroit propice au repos... Grazie a voi, simpatica famiglia! Nella casa come avete notato ci sono molti libri ma pochi in lingua straniera: mi farebbe piacere ricevere qualche vostro consiglio per incrementare la dotazione. Sicuramente mettero' altre matite colorate per i piccoli ospiti perche' e' proprio bello ricevere in dono un bel disegno come quello della vostra bimba.

Die Unterkunft hat etwas schlichtes und ist mit viel Liebe zum Vintage-Detail künstlerisch gestaltet. Dies ist ein persönliches Anliegen der Besitzerin des Hauses. Alles ist ordentlich und praktisch gestaltet; vom Bad bis zur Küchenzeile. Die naturnahe Umgebung und das Dorf sind ruhig und erholsam und das obwohl Verbindungsstrassen und Bahnverbindung zum Lago Maggiore, Mailand, Varese, Lugano nahe sind. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt bei Miranda Baratelli Ostini, die eine liebenswürdige Gastgeberin ist.

Norditalienische Provinz, dörflicher Charakter, trotzdem mit dem Auto alles leicht zu erreichen! Im Umkreis von 30 KM viele Sehenswürdigkeiten; Mailand günstig mit dem Zug, Burgen, Botanische Gärten mit Villen.

Uriges Atelierhaus

In dem gemütlichen und urigen Haus lebt ein künstlerischer Geist. Herausragend ist die großartige, riesige Terrasse! In der Wohnküche ist alles da, keine Wünsche bleiben offen. Miranda ist eine sehr freundliche, diskrete und kooperative Gastgeberin. Sie unterstützt, wann immer gewünscht, mit zahlreichen hilfreichen Tipps. Sehr reizvoll die zahlreichen, in nächster Umgebung erreichbaren Badeseen (Lago die Monate, Comabbio, Ghirla) bzw. die nahe Badestelle im Fluss Ticino. Das Haus ist ein sehr guter Startpunkt für Ausflüge, sei es in die umliegenden Orte wie z.B. Sesta Calente, Varese oder in die Großstadt Mailand. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt dort sehr genossen.

Thanks for your appreciation. It was a pleasure to host you because you too were friendly, discreet and attentive guests. I'm sorry there has been some airplane overflight of during your rest hours. Thank you for reporting it and I inquired. They were probably due to some extra departures of cargo or similar to Ukraine. Usually the flyovers above Cuirone during the day only concern some routes of civil aircraft departing from Malpensa and never transit beyond midnight (except for delays). When the planes arrive here they are already very high also because there is Monte San Giacomo that protects us. The situation sometimes varies if there are bad weather conditions. In that case some aircraft are authorized to change the landing route, so they fly over the territory of Cuirone and Vergiate.

Tolle Ferienwohnung

Eine sehr urige, wunderbare Ferienwohnung. Alles da, was man braucht. Die Wohnung ist absolut originell und mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet, vom Mann der Vermieterin selbst designt und ausgeführt. Wunderbar das Frühstück auf der geräumigen Terrasse. Miranda, die Vermieterin ist eine sehr herzliche und freundliche Person, ich kann diese Unterkunft wärmstens empfehlen und werde auch gerne wieder dort mieten. Grazie di tutto Miranda

Kunstvolles Apartment in uriger Umgebung

Wir (2 Erwachsene mit Baby) hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt. Das Apartment ist urig, mit viel Holz und vielen kunstvollen Details. Ein perfekter Ort zum entspannen. Man hat es in Baubaus Haus so gemütlich, dass auch Regenwetter einem den Urlaub nicht vermiesen kann. Die große überdachte und helle Terrasse ist auch ein Segen. Der Kontakt zur Gastgeberin Miranda war sehr angenehmen. Sie war sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Auch das kleine nette Dorf mit Lokal samt Mini Laden hat uns sehr gefallen. Ausflüge aller Art sind in der Gegend auch gut zu machen. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

authenticité et accueil chaleureux de la Mama 💖

Nous avons passé une semaine à l’heure italienne ( et les demi heures aussi !) dans le village du Cuirone. Un appartement-musée authentique et l’accueil chaleureux de Miranda. Nous avons apprécié le déjeuner dans le jardin de la coopérative préparé et servi par les gens du village ( cuisine traditionnelle menu à 13 euros vin et café compris) la déconnexion et la visite des lacs alentours.

Tout était parfait ! Le gîte est très confortable et très bien équipé, et est surtout plein de charme. La situation est parfaite pour rayonner dans la région. La maison est dans un village très mignon. Miranda est très accueillante et disponible, parle parfaitement français. Nous y reviendrons avec plaisir !

sehr idividuell

Die Ferienwohnung ist sehr rustikal und individuell eingerichtet und es wurde an alles gedacht. Die Vermieterin ist super freundlich und spricht sehr gut Englisch. Der Ort ist klein und liegt zwar nicht direkt an einem der Seen, aber es ist eine supergute Lage als Ausgangspunkt für viele schöne Ausflüge. 100% weiter zu empfehlen!

Why they chose this property

Cuirone was the holiday resort of Giorgio my husband's family for many generations. We bought our home because it was unique and we have carefully preserved. We moved here from Milan many years ago and in 1987 we founded a cultural association to treat the memory and preservation of Cuirone and its history. We had no children, but our house has always welcomed many nephews and friends.
George had his studio here.
At the top of the atelier has made ​​Baubaus House. The name is a play and a long history that was inspired by an exhibition with other friends and artists. We decided to rent Baubaus House because we like to meet new people who appreciate these simple places. After the death of George, I turned the atelier in the archive of the works of George and the association. Space Giorgio Ostini sometimes hosts the work of other artists, so it continues to live with his generous spirit.
