Good & issues

Love location & view. Good beds, plenty dishes and appliances. One of bathroom floors not that clean. Safe not working, remote to one air conditionerDid not work, tv in room with two beds had no internet connection, clock needs batteries, and freezer door needs adjustment as makes hard to shut refrigerator door.

Great location with Ocean and Lagoon views!

Nice place with beautiful views! Can’t beat the location. Walk, ride the bus or Uber everywhere! Nicely furnished and the owner was quick to respond to inquiries! Would stay here again!

Enjoyable Location

The property was clean, well equipped and met all our needs. It is a fantastic location for the Friday evening firework display, next to marina for fishing and whale watching trips and the lagoon for children. The Ilikai has a more relaxing atmosphere than the Hilton next door.

The unit was more then I expexcted. Our family travels often and we like trying off brand resorts. This unit was one of the better places we have stayed. Loved the layout and amenities. Very nice property

Unit was very nice and had a great view. Well stocked with pretty much anything you need. Could use some maintenance. Several lights did not work. Refrigerator/freezer handles modified and hit when closing either one.

Beautiful view from balcony

Beautiful view down to the lagoon from condo balcony. We were front and center from the balcony for the Friday evening fireworks and avoided the traffic jam after the show. Walk to the beach and many beachside restaurants. We have a wonderful stay

Hotel atmosphere

It's a beautiful hotel setting. Restaurants and shops on site. The valet parking is cheap at $45 a night and the convince is worth it. We saw turtles in the bay. But definitely wear shoes in the water, it's rocky.

Kirk family Vacation - Waikiki

Overall our stay was excellent. The 2br 2bath apartment met all of our expectations and was well kept. The view was wonderful and we could see the fireworks without obstruction. The apartment is located the perfect distance from the elevator...not too far when carrying things and not so close that you are constantly hearing riders. Again, overall, our stay was excellent. We would definitely stay again!!!

This condo will give you what you need, it is not ocean front it is ocean view and a shower curtain needs to be put in the master bathroom so water does not get all over the floor.

The worst rental experience that I have ever had.

The property is fine enough -- much smaller than the pictures let on, but decent enough for a very basic situation. The bedrooms/beds are falsely advertised. The second bedroom, which was expected to have a double and a queen had a single bed instead of a queen. Upon notifying the owner and other people involved in hosting about the issue with the posting versus what was present, I was threatened and harassed by the owner multiple times a day. The owner insists the single/twin bed is a queen size bed. The owner is unreasonable and tried to extort money from me as a result of notifying him that the expected queen bed was instead a twin sized bed. While i followed every single house rule and every agreement in the contract, the owner is knowingly falsifying information. I had to get VRBO involved to have them stop harassing me multiple times a day. The overall property is dated - often at least one of the elevators is not working so you may wait up to 10 minutes for the lift. No water fountains or water refilling stations are available in the property. The kitchen is minimally outfitted. The bathrooms need serious updating The property is so-so but the owner and other people involved in the hosting process are terrible. If you raise an issue be ready to be harassed via text message and through VRBO's messaging platform. Also be prepared to have the owner try to extort money from you or have "property inspectors" enter the property during your stay. Beware.

The view is amazing

From what we saw when we stayed there, you pay for the view. The condo is a little to be desired. Alot of old fixtures. Not extremely clean. My son crawled around and his knees where black. But the owner has good communication and the view is amazing and its such a quick walk to the beach and lagoon.

Great condo close to the hilton

We stayed at this condo for the first leg of our hawaii trip. check in was easy and parking was easy with the valet service. The condo was in great condition and had a great view of both the Hilton's show, fireworks, and the beach and ocean. We enjoyed the condo and the beach toys for our kids. Overall our stay was amazing and the condo was well stocked for our trip. If you have dust allergies be cautious since something in the condo set off my wife's allergies. Overall we felt it was amazing and the owners were very receptive about everything throughout the whole booking process!

2 weeks in paradise.

Started off with only 1 of 5 elevators working. This wasvq problem throughout our 2 week stay. They had to bring in portable generators to run the elevators. Most of the time only 2 or 3 elevators were up and running. There were huge lines of people trying to get to their rooms. Our unit needs updating, and we were surprised to see roaches in the unit everyday, despite us spraying and leaving all of our food in the refrigerator. All said, our stay was a 3 out of 5. This was the 3rd Island we visited and my least favorite.

Hotel has major problems

We have stayed at the Ilikai many times in the past with good experiences. This time was a disaster! The elevators had major problems 7 out of the 10 days we were there. One day we were completely trapped in our room. The pool was closed for 3 days! The first floor restaurant was also closed. As far as the room goes, it was kind of dirty. One of the toilets leaked from the bottom. We used the other one. Next time if i need another bedroom I would just book another room. It was too expensive for what you get.

There were bedbugs

We booked a three-night stay at this Ilikai condo and everything seemed fine until my daughter found bedbugs as she was laying down for the night. We asked the owner about a refund but he initially said he doesn't offer them. We decided to leave the property regardless but he eventually refunded us for two of the three nights.

Oct 2016 view was fabulous

The condo was ok there were a few issues the refrigerator absolutely was horrible food went bad did not keep anything cold , the freezer took three days to make ice. The couch needs to be replace, there is a piece of plywood unders cushions and when you sat on it cushions popped out and hug way over the side of couch . Things need to be fixed to be updated. The view from the lani were great. Don't think would we would stay there again unless they did upgrades for the price.

Motel 6 of VRBOS

1. Parking was $50 a DAY and owner made it seem like parking was included until we arrived since I asked prior. 2. There was NO CUTTING BOARD and all kitchen equipment was so cheap. There was not even enough plates or cups for the number of people. 3. The shower in the master is obviously not included with a picture because it is a death trap with a 4ft tub included. My 74 year old father stayed in this room and could not use the shower at all. 4. The towels and linen seemed like they stole it from other motels because everything was mismatched and rough. 5. My brother stayed in a different VRBO in the same facility and to see their condo vs ours was obvious that this owner does not upgrade anything.

Wanted to be happy with our stay

We have stayed at the ilikai before and loved the location. Walking distance to everything you need. For the most part the room was clean and had the minimum of what we needed. Awesome views of the lagoon and beach, as well as Fright night fireworks. While we were there we noticed that a block/tile had fell (lost it’s stickiness) we tried to stick it back on but it just kept falling. I placed the tile on the fridge and emailed owner to make him aware. After check out, I was emailed and charged $700 for damage to the wall that the tile was hiding. I have challenged this charge with vrbo as well as sent the owner a message, which he will not respond too. I was really excited about this trip until was hit with this. The owner has taken down his listing as well.

Kinda nice, could be better

We had two main issues with the property, ignoring the suitable location and the fact that we had an overall good time in Hawaii. First, the unit's floor was dirty (wear sandles, save your socks). Needs a steam clean, especially in the second bedroom. Second, we didn't receive any check-in information until even after the check-in time. Two in my party was waiting for alerts, and we had to text the owner directly. When contacted, the owner said we didn't have a reservation, but called VRBO. They did release the information to me, but they never apologized and didn't seem to recognize they were contacting me (the reserving person) and not the party who texted them and were waiting to enter the unit.
