About this property

A charming house with a pool.

It is near to Dijon, set right in the heart of a town of 400 people that is very peaceful. In a 2500-sq.m fenced plot with trees you can find our lovely renovated 19th century house that we have been renting for 10 years. The house is dressed in imperial glory with stone walls, tiled floors, many fireplaces, comfortable brand-new bathrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen.
The 10 x 5 m swimming pool (with Roman staircase) is open for 15th April to 15th September inclusive. It is heated and has a protective cover. The pool house offers a hot water shower and a fridge.
Downstairs, there is a hall, a 36-sq.m living room, a dining room, a double Bedroom, a studio with a double bed, a large kitchen (each room has its own fireplace), bathroom, and an independent WC. The first floor features a double bedroom, 3 bedrooms with twin beds, 2 bathrooms, and 2 separate WCs.
The rate includes bedding, linen, final cleaning, and wood for the fireplaces.
There is broadband Internet with Wi-Fi.
There is sufficient cultery and crockery to entertain 20 people.

As a family of 3 generations we had a lovely stay in this charming and beautiful house. We had a great welcome from the host introducing us to the house and good places to visit, and in addition we had a thorough welcome letter with descriptions of all from vine and restaurants to markeds and sights. The house is very well equipped and functional in all matters. The pool was excellent and surroundings as well. In all it gave even more than it promised, and we can warmly recommed a stay.

Enchanting country house in a beautiful region

We stayed with our family with three young children for two weeks in this country house, which immediately charmed us with its authentic beauty. The rooms are large and well furnished, the house immediately welcomes any visitor as if it's home. Our meeting with owner Denis was very pleasant, and he immediately solved the small problem with the heating of the pool. The kitchen is at the back of the house, and although everything is available, we think cooking there is not quite handy if you're with a large group. But for us this place was like a second home. We ate from the fig, plum and apple trees, enjoyed the peace and beauty of the cote d'or region, and the children swam and swinged as if their lives depended on it. A charming, valuable vacation spot.

Ein Haus ein Schloss

Bei diesem Haus sind wir in einem Schloss im Park angekommen. Hohe RĂ€ume, hell und großzĂŒgig. Große SchlafrĂ€ume mit guten Matratzen. Die RĂ€ume sind stilvoll eingerichtet. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefĂŒhlt. Ich kann das Haus nur weiterempfehlen. Wir waren mit 8 erwachsenen Personen dort. Alle haben so empfunden und haben die GroßzĂŒgigkeit des Hauses und des Anwesens genossen. Hinter dem großen schmiedeeisernen Tor lag eine eigene Welt. Ruhig und abgeschieden, entspannt und ungestört.

Summer holiday

We had a two week stay during August. The excellent weather meant we made full use of the lovely pool and gardens. If you are looking for sleek, shark and modern, this isn’t the place for you. However if you are looking for a traditional French house full of charm and history this is the place. A large, characterful house providing ample accommodation (we were a group of 7). The host was accommodating and welcoming and we felt looked after during our stay.

Family holiday to North Burgundy

We had a wonderful week’s trip. The house is charming and very well appointed. Set in very private and pretty grounds with a fabulous swimming pool. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable and the house stayed very cool despite the very hot weather. Although the village is very quiet the nearby town of Is-sur-tille has many of the essential amenities including at least two excellent boulangeries. Dijon is also a very short car journey away. Denis was a very good host, greeting us on arrival and also prompt in answering any questions prior to the trip. I would thoroughly recommend this property for a relaxing holiday.

Incroyable séjour dans une magnifique maison

Nous avons passĂ© le week-end de l'Ascension Ă  Chaignay pour fĂȘter les 2 ans de notre fille avec une grande partie de la famille (4 gĂ©nĂ©rations). Notre sĂ©jour nous a enchantĂ©, petits, jeunes et moins jeunes. La maison correspond en tous points Ă  la description. Le parc est idyllique, avec ses grands arbres et ses belles fleurs, la piscine chauffĂ©e trĂšs agrĂ©able (plus chaude que l'air Ă  cette saison) et la maison spacieuse et fonctionnelle. Le charme de la demeure a grandement contribuĂ© Ă  rendre notre sĂ©jour inoubliable! Ne vous attendez pas Ă  un intĂ©rieur ultra moderne, c'est l'histoire de la maison qui sĂ©duit. Cependant, l'Ă©lectromĂ©nager est en bon Ă©tat (souvent mĂȘme neuf) et le reste de l'Ă©quipement tout Ă  fait adĂ©quat. Un petit bĂ©mol peut-ĂȘtre pour la literie d'une des chambres qui pourrait ĂȘtre renouvelĂ©e. La maison est propre et le parc bien entretenu. Nous avons eu d'excellents contacts avec le propriĂ©taire, trĂšs avenant, et le concierge. Nous avons fait du vĂ©lo dans les environs de Chaignay, nous sommes promenĂ©s Ă  Is-sur-Tille et Dijon, mais avons principalement profitĂ© de la maison et de ses nombreux avantages. Cette location est Ă  recommander chaudement si vous ĂȘtes Ă  la recherche d'une destination spĂ©ciale et pleine de charme Ă  partager en famille ou entre amis!

Petit bĂ©mol, comme annoncĂ© la piscine n'est pas chauffĂ©e, le dĂ©bit internet n'est pas du haut dĂ©bit, la literie mĂ©rite d'ĂȘtre revue et il aurait Ă©tĂ© sympa d'avoir une tĂ©lĂ© plus grande. Conclusion: les prestations ne sont pas Ă  la hauteur du loyer, ou le montant de la location est supĂ©rieur aux prestations proposĂ©es.

"I stayed in this propert...

"I stayed in this property at Chaignay with my international family immediately following my marriage to a French man and it was brilliant. It is an enormous house which makes it ideal for adults and children. The rooms are great-we stayed in the master bedroom with an enormous ensuite (together combined they are probably the size of our entire apartment in Paris). The kitchen was very well equipped so we ate at home every night and had barbeques. There is plenty of entertainment for kids-a great heated pool which provided hours of amusement and board games which were played in the evening.There is also a very helpful guardian who will probably greet you if you stay. If there are any problems he is on hand to assist as he lives in the village. All and all a great stay and I can highly recommend it-we will probably return and next time without children so we can take advantage of all the fabulous Burgundy vineyards and degustations!!!"

"In diesem Ă€lteren Hauskann mann beruhigt mit seinem Kinder leben. Da es ein Familienferienhaus ist, können die Kinder spielen ohne stĂ€ndig ĂŒberwacht zu werden (Spielzeug und BĂŒcher sind vorhanden). Der Garten ist ein Paradies. Es gibt viele Möglichkeiten : KinderhĂ€uschen, Schwimmbad und einen kleinen Spielplatz, wo die Kinder sich bald wie zu Hause fĂŒllen."

"Nous avons adoré ces vacances à Chaignay. Une superbe maison propre et agréable. Tout est fait pour qu'on se sente chez soi. Dijon est à proximité et est aussi une superbe ville; La piscine est sécurisée et propre, il y a qqn qui fait le ménage et qui vient nettoyer la piscine. En général un superbe endroit et un propriétaire adorable! On y retournera."
