About this property
50' from the Mississippi River, see the winter eagle migration, fish from there
Spectacular 180 degree view of the Mighty Mississippi! Enjoy sipping a cup of coffee from the deck or in the kitchen nook watching the river meander by. Quiet neighborhood, located in between Ft. Madison and Keokuk. Historic Navoo, Illinois is just 1.5 mi. across the river or 20 minutes away by car along a beautiful scenic route!! Awesome place to relax, refresh and enjoy the beauty of the river valley.
Fishing poles are available to wet a line and see what the river may give up for your next dinner.
One thing very interesting to do is watching the barges lock through at Keokuk.
No matter what time of year there is always natures beauty around.. Spring brings migrating waterfowl going north, sometimes there will be many hundreds of thousands of Snow geese. Summer still waterfowl but with babies, the Purple Martins are around. Fall-migrating waterfowl going south with the colors of the changing trees. Winter-when the river freezes eagles will ride ice flows down the main channel and there are usually hundreds of eagles below the locks and dams.
We have 3 kayaks, inner tubes, and a12' john boat. Life preservers

Why they chose this property
We feel blessed to have found this property. What an awesome place to be able to use and share with others. We never thought that sitting on a deck doing nothing but watching the river flow by and seeing all the wildlife that comes with it, i.e., Eagles, pelicans, seagulls, geese, etc. could be so intriguing and relaxing.
What makes this property unique
We love the fact that the river is only 50' away. It is unusual to find a place on the river that doesn't have either railroad tracks or a road between the house and the river. It is a quiet well kept neighborhood, friendly neighbors and close to larger cities if needed. Sitting on the deck whether it be day or night, watching the wildlife or the reflection of the Navoo temple on the river or a view of the stars!!!
Eagles pass by frequently, in the winter when the river is frozen there can be hundreds of eagles below the lock and dam at Keokuk and Burlington.
