This is a beautiful apartment in the historic center of Strasbourg. It was a privilege to stay here.

Everything in the department is well arranged and very attractive. The bed is very comfortable and the kitchen has all that you need. The owner is very kind and helpful. I would love to stay again.

Wonderful little apartment. Steps kept us in shape even with the wonderful food and drink in Stras.

Great place. Would recommend mentioning the number of steps to reach the apartment, (I think my wife counted 73) but overall we greatly enjoyed the stay. Pat

Good stay!!

Air conditioning was much appreciated as this flat is located on the the 5th floor. There is no lift, so we were extra careful on the spiral staircase. The listing was as described and location was great!!

Great location!

It is very convenient to the markets. Be aware that if you have a lot of luggage or your travel bags are heavy, there is no lift. You’ll be walking your bags up four flights of a spiral staircase to get to the apt. But Frances is very nice and will pitch in to help.

Stairs a big challenge

This small studio is at the top of 4 flights up a narrow, circular staircase without a railing—it is the former servants entrance. Only the most limber and hearty folks can make it up with luggage. There is no “bathroom”— there is a small toilet space in the kitchen, and a small tub/ shower, also in the kitchen. No air conditioning as advertised. But, on the plus side: Nice part of town, close to trams. Host speaks excellent English and is responsive. Robes, coffee, towels, laundry detergent Lots of light in the apartment My summary: a good place for a fit single but not adequate for anyone else.

The apartment was great and as advertised. There were no surprises. It was comfortable and had plenty of character. The location was perfect, Francois was very helpful and the bikes were a big plus. Would stay again.

Schöne Lage

Die Lage der Wohnung war echt Top, alles was man schönes von Strasbourg sehen muss kann kann man zu Fuß erreichen. Die Wohnung selbst ist jedoch für das was sie bietet relativ teuer, sie war nicht richtig geputzt als wir ankamen und die Toilette ist wirklich sehr klein. Alles in allem ist die Stadt aber auf jedenfall einen Besuch Wert und wir haben es genossen!

Appartement chaleureux, situé à proximité du centre de Strasbourg . Stationnement pour les voitures facile. Un seul hic la salle de bain n en est pas une. Pas de lavabo et l évier deux bacs doit servir comme lavabo. La baignoire est dans un placard dans la cuisine !

Pour être précis, les "Lumières de la ville" se composent de 3 appartements, la remarque ci dessus ne concerne qu'un des 3 appartements. Et pour être encore plus précis, la baignoire est en réalité une douche qui fonctionne très bien et se trouve dans un placard ce qui amuse nos hôtes depuis 10 ans à présent. Nos tarifs tiennent évidement compte des équipements proposés. Le charme de l'endroit est unanimement exprimé depuis toutes ces années....

Accueil chaleureux et sympatique par le propriètaire. Appartement trés bien équipé avec beaucoup de petits plus comme des draps, linge de toilette à disposition ce qui est rare et bien pratique.Logement plein de charme avec un parquet magnifique.Je mettrais un petit bémol pour les wc trés étroit du à une contrainte d'espace. Le quartier est calme et proche du centre ville.

Gelungener Aufenthalt

Die Lage unschlagbar. Treppenhöhe muss man halt bewältigen können. Erst über die Dusche im Schrank erschrocken - aber es hat erstaunlich gut geklappt und wir werden es immer als witzige Erinnerung eines Urlaubsaufenthaltes behalten :-). Vermieter sehr nett und hat uns sogar mit Lebensmittel Vorräten überrascht. Parkmöglichkeit direkt vor der Tür.

Tres Bruyant ...........

Rien à redire sur l'appartement ..Conforme aux photos (lumières du soir) Un panier garni vous attend à l'arrivée. L'ambiance est très feutrée et zen.La vue sur la cathédrale agréable. Nous tenions à préciser qu'il est au 3 étage d'un immeuble ancien et qu'il faut emprunter un escalier en colimaçon de 72 marches,très éprouvant à monter.C'est un bel escalier en bois dont les hauteurs de marches sont très hautes!!!Il faut un minimum de condition physique car à raison de les emprunter plusieurs fois par jour,on est vite éreinté.!!! Autre point gênant,l'immeuble est à un carrefour de feux très fréquenté. Impossible de laisser les fenêtres ouvertes si on souhaite dormir un peu le matin.(il a fait 30° durant notre séjour) Il règne un bruit infernal de la circulation et on entend très bien le tramway. Il y a bien une climatisation mais bruyante aussi.... En conclusion la localisation de l'appartement est idéale pour un séjour en hiver (les fenêtres restent fermées) et on est très proche du marché de Noel,de la cathédrale et du centre ville.

Merci pour votre appréciation concernant la qualité de l'appartement ainsi que sa situation. Mais nous sommes en effet au 3ème étage sans ascenseur, c'est un peu de sport. Les "monuments historiques" interdisent ce type d'aménagement qui risqueraient de dénaturer le cachet de la maison qui date de 1889. Concernant le bruit, je voudrais préciser que l'avenue et la rue qui bordent la maison ne sont en aucun cas de grands axes bien au contraire. C'est un quartier très calme. Jamais personne ne nous a fait de remarques sur le bruit. Ceci dit vous êtes venu à Strasbourg en période de canicule et de travaux sur les quais voisins ce qui a pour effet de dévier un peu la circulation sous nos fenêtres. Concours de circonstances. Je vous souhaite un bel été sans trop de canicule. Bien cordialement Francis Ehrmann

Formidable!

C'était notre premier voyage en amoureux dans la ville de Noel et il était parfait- (et en grande partie grâce à la gentillesse de Francis et son appartement!) A l'arrivée, petit déjeuner copieux, frigo rempli pour nos petites faims, une grande chambre avec des murs-bibliothèques et une grande hauteur de plafond... Un lit très confortable avec une literie agréable! La cuisine était très fonctionnelle et la salle de bain, bien que petite, très amusante :) Le propriétaire est très gentil, très réceptif et prêt à répondre à nos attentes toujours avec enthousiasme. Merci beaucoup d'avoir contribué à ce merveilleux séjour ! Nous reviendrons avec plaisir

Convenient and nice apartment

We were in Strasbourg during a hot summer week in August. The reception and key collection was good. The owner was helpful and responded quickly to our messages. It is the top floor so you will have a few floors up the stairs. This was for us - we are very fit :) - no problem. The apartment has a quirky layout; it is nicely furnished with books upto the ceiling. Everything is there for a pleasant stay. The toilet and shower are smallish but adequate. The apartment is conveniently located, easily accessible by car and parking in the neighbourhood. You can easily walk into the city centre and we also found the available bikes handy.

"Vielen Dank! Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt in dieser optimal ausgestatteten Wohnung. Es war alles vorhanden, was für einen Aufenthalt nötig ist und dazu noch sehr zentral gelegen. Die Wohnung war sauber und ordentlich und in einem guten Zustand. Abwicklung absolut einwandfrei. Gerne würde ich wiederkommen,kann diese Wohnung weiterempfehlen. Die Wohnung liegt unter dem Dach und es müssen einige, ca. 70 Stufen, bewältigt werden, etwas sportlich sein wäre schon gut."
