Adorable beach cottage on Hamlin Creek; Pet friendly with no fee!

This comfortably renovated cottage, located just 1000 feet from the beach, has retained its original island charm. Fishing, swimming, kayaking, boating, bird and dolphin watching are available out the back door facing the Intracoastal Waterway, while the beach is a short walk away. Nothing beats sitting in the rope swings, relaxing with a good book, while watching the seabirds and dolphins play after a fun day on the beach.

The spacious lot and large canopy of live oaks on the bank of Hamlin Creek make you think you're back in the antebellum South. The updated cottage has retained an "island essence" and offers the perfect spot for enjoying nature and experiencing island life. Owner maintained and a unique experience for your vacation! Deep water dock comes with 30 amp electrical service and water hookups 5' at low tide, (Boat lift on site is only for owner use)

Pet Friendly with 12 x 25 fenced dog run, No fee required! Nice gas grill (propane tanks may be exchanged at Island Realty office during normal business hours). Beach Shower. WiFi and linens are included.

Rentals are stocked with small ‘starter packs’ that include: toilet paper, trash bags, paper towels, soap, dishwashing soap, and dishwasher detergent.

Hamlin Creek Cottage

Beautiful little gem of a cottage! Lovely yard leading to great dock on the creek. Saw plenty of bird life and baby dolphins swimming beside their mothers. The beds were very comfortable. Gorgeous heart pine floors. Love the history about this house.

Island Realty has been super great to work with (Sarah Collins - has checked in on us periodically). We have had ZERO issues with anything during the stay. Great, Great location.

Everything was super clean when we arrived; even the porches and drive were blown off. The dock was a great place for our boat and hanging out with family and friends. Charming Old school beach cottage with modern conveniences

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a unique and fun place, perfect for our small family and fur kids aka dogs. The screened porch was a favorite place to gather, play guitar, read and hang out. The AC is great, all the appliances are new, the kitchen has everything we could want, the grill is new and works great. The tv and WiFi are perfect and thank you for the tennis channel! We kayaked from the dock daily and it’s a very convenient walk to the ocean.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our second time staying at this house, great location and we thoroughly enjoy having the dock on the river. Some suggestions for the owners...while the dog pen is nice it really isn't where most dog owners would leave their pets, would be very easy to fence the back yard to the water so the dogs could be out there with us and not have to worry about the busy road. Also A/C needs some updating as the back two bedrooms were much hotter than the rest of the house. Would definitely rent this house again.

We loved the dock and views from the back yard over the creek. It's an easy walk to the beach and the restaurants. The house is so unique among the McMansions. It's very quaint, updated and very clean. We liked the extra touches of starter supplies in the kitchen and baths. I would definitely stay here again. Island Realty was very good to work with. We had a cracked coffee carafe and they came and replaced it right away. Great service.

We only had one trash bag and one roll of paper towels for six people for a week. Had to go by toilet paper trash bags and paper towels from the start The worst thing was the exterior the grass was extremely high hadn't been mowed in a while.

The house is on a beautiful creek that offers fishing, swimming and kyaking...only some of the options. Then it is only a few blocks from the IOP beach. It has been ideal for us.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We’ve rented multiple times from Island Realty and this is now one of our favorite properties. The location can’t be beat — easy 2 block walk to the beach, access to the creek right from the backyard, quick drive or short walk to restaurants, and only a 20-ish minute drive into downtown Charleston. My husband spent many hours fishing right from the dock that was just feet from the house. Even when it was drizzly one day he was able to go out and fish thanks to the covered areas. The master bed was very comfortable. Just be prepared it’s really high! Not an issue for us but I could see someone with mobility issues having a problem getting into the high bed. The bathroom door to the master bathroom didn’t close all the way, which wasn’t a huge deal and we just used the hallway bath if someone needed to get up in the middle of the night so the other person wasn’t disturbed. For a small house, having 2 bathrooms was unexpected and really nice. Wish the fenced in space for a dog was bigger, or closer to the house. Not really practical with where it’s located now. Instructions said to vacuum or sweep the floors but we weren’t able to find a vacuum so that would have been a nice addition.

Convenient location - 2 blocks to beach and a number of restaurants in walking distance, short drive from IOP connector. Great view of intracoastal with active bird life. We enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to stay here again.
