Country Living Getaway at Josie's Guest House

Welcome to Josie's at Ibling's Family Farm. This updated home is situated in Brownsdale, MN located on a family farm site that has been in our family for more than 100 years. Named Josie's after my mother who resided there. This location provides a beautiful venue for families, couples retreats, and girls weekends.
We are 90 minutes south of the Twin Cities just off Hwy 56. We are less than 45 minutes away from Rochester, MN home of the renowned Mayo Clinic.
In today's hectic busy world, let this be your escape from the daily grind and a place to recharge your batteries. Relax and enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds you. You can experience that top of the world feeling in the meadows of brilliantly colored wildflowers with Minnesota wildlife.
Enjoy the walking trails or the breathtaking views from the deck. You can go out and explore all that nature has to offer. Have a morning cup of coffee on the beautiful wrap around porch.
This house is perfect to bring the whole family! Parents can enjoy the upstairs level with complete kitchen while the kids enjoy the downstairs level of the home that is more catered to them. This home is ideal for family time or for girls night out, romantic retreats, business travel, bridal/baby showers or other small events. There couldn't be a more perfect spot for your unique gathering. You are welcome at Josie's!

Our only complaint is no fault of the owner. There is a highway running by the property that carries tons of semi trucks, which I assume are using this to avoid the DOT weigh station on interstate 35. They are LOUD. Adding to the noise, the speed limit goes from 60 to 30mph just down the road, so every truck is either accelerating or slowing down. The trucks like to use their jake brakes. The only reason it was an issue was because we were working nights, so trying to sleep during the day was a challenge. There are also no curtains, just shades in the bedrooms, so with the bedrooms all getting the western morning sun, between the semis and the brightness, not a good place to stay in the unlikely event you would try to sleep during the day. But again, not the fault of the owners. Otherwise,a very nice place.

Looking forward to staying here again

Loved staying at Josie's Cottage. Beds were very comfortable, WiFi was strong to get work done, many options for sitting outside, all in a picturesque setting.

Beautiful old house with a lot of room for busy kids. Trails were nice. Fenced in back yard a much needed. It's on a busy hwy. Two kitchens were very helpful with our group.

Great value

We rented Josie’s Guest House for a ladies weekend and it accommodated our group of 10 very comfortably. We loved that there were two living areas, each equipped with full kitchen. The house was very clean, well kept, and well furnished. The kitchens were fully equipped and had plenty of cookware and serving dishes. We would definitely rent again.

Spacious and Comfortable

Our family stayed here during a week of in-between period between selling our previous home and buying a new one. The kids and I were able to continue on with their homeschooling while my husband worked during the week. The house is very spacious with 3 total bedrooms and two living spaces. There are essentially 2 apartments, making it great for split or multi-family setups. The downstairs apartment has 2 bedrooms with a queen and a twin over full bunk bed and 3 pull-out twin convertible chairs with it's own separated room living spaces (kitchen, dining, and living in separate rooms). The upstairs apartment has a single bedroom with a king bed and a queen convertible sofa along with it's own open concept living space. This allowed my husband and I some private time upstairs while the kids enjoyed video games or Netflix downstairs. There is a gas stove in the downstairs kitchen and an electric stove in the upstairs kitchen, which we thought was great. Both apartments have their own bathroom, though the upstairs is definitely "master bath" quality and was very nice to get ready in in the mornings. One negative about the master suite/apartment was that there was was no door on the bathroom. You walk up the stairs straight into the bedroom and are 3 feet from the bathroom doorway. I had to make sure my kids stayed downstairs until I was ready in the mornings. The beds were very comfortable, especially the upstairs king. The Internet was quick and reliable. The yard, deck, porch/patio and setting are beautiful, overlooking the fields and nearby wind park. The only caveat would be that you are on a fairly busy highway, so the noise from the road can get fairly loud. That wouldn't keep us from coming back, though, as we enjoyed our stay immensely. Overall a wonderful place to stay, to wind down and to relax.

Beautiful house! CleanThe host was prompt with answering questions. Not only 1 beautiful kitchen but two!! The front has a covered porch, then there is a large deck on the top floor..Everything was perfect!! Can not wait to visit again

Our main objective on this VRBO was location and it was perfect since it was close to our mom who was in Assisted Living in Brownsdale. Overall, the house was good. Really like the outdoor porch area. The property manager was very responsive. We did have a few suggestions: 1) Get some new towels. The towels were old (like the ones you use in your garage). 2) Get curtains. The windows only had blinds and some of them didn't even fit the window size so there was a 2" gap to the outdoors. It would give it a much cozier vibe.

The property was very pleasant and well-maintained. We were able to easily have 5 adults each have their own space. The kitchens were both well-stocked with cooking utilities that we made good use of. The location was also nice- being on the edge of town meant that we didn't have to worry about loud neighbors disturbing us. Overall, this was a good place to stay.

Peaceful Getaway with Beautiful Views and Great Location!

My husband and I were looking for a couple of nights away to rest and relax, and this property in Brownsdale was just perfect. As folks from rural Minnesota, we appreciated the charm of the area, and this place felt like a home away from home.The property offers complete living quarters—including kitchen and bathroom—on each floor. We chose the top floor and loved the modern, open-concept layout and the lovely views. It made for a cozy, peaceful retreat.The location is fantastic: just a short drive to Austin, where we enjoyed dining and entertainment. We also noticed the owner has additional properties nearby, which would be perfect for larger groups wanting to stay close together.We’d definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a relaxing stay with all the comforts of home. Beautiful, Peaceful Place to Rejuvenate

We came for my nieces wedding and to visit with my brother who lives in Brownsdale. It was a perfect three minute drive to his house. It was a wonderful vacation, and my favorite part was sitting on the front porch.
