SIMPLY AMAZING

First & Foremost I want to thank , Sheldon & B for their hospitality. It was more than I expected, from picking me up from the Airport, to upgrading my stay and providing me with a rental car, they supplyed me with everything I need. You can get everything you need at one place. What I love about "CHOOSE To Be Happy, is that they strive to make Happy Consumers HAPPIER, why do I say this? After returning the rental car , I forgot to full the tank back up & as a subsidiary of "Choose To Be Happy! They filled it up for me. It's little things like that that makes me always want to use them everytime i go to the island. PS the pictures do not have anything on the actual location ...SIMPLY AMAZING

Privacy and Comfort in Kingston

The name "Happy @ 16" is perfect for this and the other properties under this banner. Located in New Kingston the apartment I stayed in was a well appointed suite complete with washer and dryer, a beautiful kitchen with all new appliances (there was even a little start up kit of snacks, coffee, teas etc), and a large bathroom. The owners spared no expense on the furniture and finishings so it truly felt like I was in a top tier hotel room. The apartment was in a gated community with 24 hour security as well as having the additional security of a key card and electronic gate seperating the courtyard from the actual apartments. Security was extremely friendly and pegging me as a visitor kept an extra eye out and helped me to find safe neighborhood restaurants to visit in the evening. I was central to almost everything in Kingston and even my friends who lived on the island were envious of my location. I normally prefer vacation rentals to hotels and Happy has become my new go to when visiting Jamaica. The price is perfect for long stays and Sheldon was super helpful allowing me to check in very early due to my morning flight and he was always a quick text and or phone call away. Recommend this property highly.

Home away from home and great location!

This condo is ideally located...practically 5 mins away from everything....food/restaurants, bob marley museum and devon house. The condo is very comfortable, clean and very secure. It has all the amenities listed incl. laundry facilities and a pool.. There is security personnel at the gate 24hrs...Sheldon and his business partner Basil were very helpful and accommodating and also organized a rental for us to use during our stay...I would definitely recommend this condo if you want to stay in a very nice neighbourhood in the middle of the city!! It has everything you'll need and if not, I'm sure Sheldon will be able to accommodate!!

Everything you expect, want and more!

For starters, my flight arrived after 6 p.m,, after check-in. and Mr. James accommodated my late arrival.The apartment was not far from the airport and is centrally located. He was waiting at the apartment when we arrived. He escorted us in and oriented us to the apartment and the property as well gave a short tutorial on how to work the aminities (which are also provided in the apartment written in detail incase you forget). The apartment was just as pictured in the photos! We were pleasantly surprised not to mention very pleased. We all know how deceiving pictuers can be. The decor was immaculate, the art work appeared to be orginal pieces. The appliances and counter tops were high end. All the things you need to perpare a meal were available: pots, pans utensils, dishes. There was a curtsey basket of snacks, teas and etc. provided. The linen closet was stocked with fresh linen, towels, wash cloths, beach towels etc. There was an iron as well as an ironing board. If you think you need it, it most likely was available. There was also a movie library as well as magizines to read. The bed was HEAVEN, very comfy! The bathroom was beautifully done and we loved having surround sound throughout the aprarment. There is a speaker in the ceiling in the bathroom that lets you hear what was playing on the T.V.. What a great feature! We truly felt at home. It's obvious we loved the apartimet and enjoyed our stay, however it was comforting to know and experience that If we had any quesitons or concerns Mr. James was alwasy easy to contact and he responsed very promptly. We chose to be happy and was not disappointed! We extend our deepest gratitude to Mr. James and his family! Thank you for an amazing vacation stay in Jamaica and we will always Choose To Be Happy!

My only regret was having to leave..

I had the pleasure of staying at this rental May 22nd –May 25th 2015. I can truly say from beginning to end Sheldon was not only professional but also accommodating. The process for booking the rental was a smooth one as well as he continued to keep me informed on the entire process. Prior to my arrival he linked me with two drivers of my choice that would be accessible for any needs I had i.e. trips to the store, rides around Kingston, etc. I not only felt SAFE but I was made to feel comfortable. Due to my early AM flight I wasn’t able to check in but Sheldon came through once again and not only did the driver pick me up from Norman Manley airport but we were able to visit the TUFF GONG studio owned by BOB MARLEY & family, the Coronation market for fresh fruit and then the local grocery store for snacks as well as oxtails and rice for a late lunch. Upon arrival the gorgeous condo was cleaned to perfection and Sheldon had a “goodie basket” to welcome me. He took the time to intricately show me how each remote worked, he also had a laminated direction sheet and was accessible as needed. The phone in the living spaces was available for local calls via LIME as well which was extremely helpful. All in all I would definitely visit again as well as recommend him . I truly miss the huge mango tree out front and the pool as well..and promise to return.

I was definitely happy that i chose this condo!

As a travel agent and wedding planner, I travel quite a bit. I stay everywhere...whether its research for clients, being schmoozed by a property and for my own personal getaways. This apartment is by far one of my favourite places that I have every stayed in my travels around Jamaica. It really felt like I came home for a few days to my very own vacation home:). I didn't have any of the "get settled in transience" that I usually feel which generally takes me a day or two to get comfortable. I walked in and it immediately felt like home. The decor is warm and welcoming and the apartment is beautifully finished with real paintings, a state of the art, tv/steroe system with a fabulous surround sound that has speakers in the bathroom which makes for awesome long, hot showers! Sheldon went over and beyond to add elements and items that you would need for the first few days and I found that so wonderfully thoughtful. I had fresh fruit, bottled water, tea and coffee with sweetener, species etc in case i wanted to cook and he even left me a bottle of red wine and my favourite Jamaican white rum and ting which is my cocktail of choice when I'm on island. He obviously listened and took notes when we talked before I booked :). I am so pleased that I stayed here for a few days as it's certainly become my oasis. I will most definitely be back again and again. I feel like I have found my very own hidden paradise in Kingston. A space where I can be totally comfortable or entertain in style. I recommend this property wholeheartedly an my only concern is that pretty soon it will be an open secret!

I can't say enough good things about CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY apartment 16 I stayed there for 3 nights and it was amazing !!!! The apartment is clean and everything up to date. This is the most magical weekend that I have experienced so far. I search many apartments to Stay in Kingston for a weekend but this was by far the BEST! . Sheldon was amazing , when I arrive at the apartment he had already shop for snacks , water juice and many more , he also recommend me to a taxi driver to take me around . Thank you Mr Bernard u r one in a million . ever need a wonderful place to stay in new Kingston this is the place to stay.

Awesome Stay

I stayed at "Choose to be Happy" in November,2014. The apt was tastefully decorated with a contemporary flare. Beautiful colors. The area was quiet and safe. A very zen mood. The owner was gracious and attentive. Nice welcoming package of juices and cereals. Was happy to have stayed here. Will definitely stay again.
