About this property
Elegant, large duplex with renaissance details in charming village
Come stay in a beautiful duplex apartment in the heart of the charming hilltop village of Radicondoli. A very spacious 180 m2 (1800 sq ft), with two large double bedrooms, 1 smaller room with a single sofa bed, three full baths, spacious lower and upper living areas, and a small terrace with a fantastic view of the surrounding countryside. Original 14th century details - wall niches, ceiling beams and terracotta floors - blended with luxurious contemporary Italian design. The convivial marble counter top island kitchen, with dishwasher and fireplace, is accented with a beautiful wall of unique travertine; antique furniture; washing machine, wireless internet in the entire apartment. Short drives to Siena, Florence, San Gimignano, Volterra, Colle Val d'Elsa, San Galgano, and the beach. You can use the village as a quiet home base far from tourists, for drives throughout Tuscany, or just stay here to relax and eat.
The village has a bakery, a butcher, 4 restaurants, 2 groceries, a bank, a tobacco/newspaper store, a library, 3 beautiful medieval churches, easy parking. During the summer and fall the village offers a popular Arts Festival with music, theater and exhibits, as well as traditional local food and crafts festivals. Occasionally the restaurants organize music and dance events with local artists, that take place in the streets or on the main square.
In addition, you will find cheese factories and organic olive oil producers close by, where wonderful high quality local products may be purchased for your own enjoyment or for gifts, including hand made pasta, sauces, cold cuts and truffles.
Available year round, minimum stay preferably 2 days.

About the host
Hosted by Cristina Berio
I'm an Italian native from Milan, currently residing in Los Angeles. I work in the film industry as a Dubbing Supervisor, and my jobs frequently take me to South America and Europe to supervise the foreign language dubbing of major film releases.
My kids and grand kids are spread all over the world, so it takes a lot of flying to see them every year, but I love it!
I'm fluent in English, Italian, and Portuguese, and I speak a little bit of French and Spanish. Our, greeter, Karin, is also fluent in German.

Why they chose this property
This property is owned by me and my siblings. Our dad settled in Radicondoli in the 1980s' and he loved this village. Before passing away in 2003, he wanted to make sure we had a place in Radicondoli, so we could come back to this lovely village, so dear to him. Plus we still have close relatives that live in the area. We feel so lucky we can come here on vacation every year with our families, and enjoy our elegant, comfortable and huge apartment ... much more spacious than other comparably priced rentals in town!
What makes this property unique
This apartment is so large that there are several distinct areas to it, each with a different feel. Each bedroom is quite different from the other and they are on different floors and opposite sides of the apartment, so there is a lot of privacy. The kitchen is to die for ... truly a sociable pleasure to cook in!
