Loved this little cabin in the wilds of Texas! Spotty cell service was the only complaint. Which, honestly, helped me and the kids to unplug and get away if only for a couple of days. It is such a unique place Beth has. We loved the goats and horses that came by to visit.
Amazing get away after a long week camping on the coast! The goats where supper funny and entertaining, just doing there thing around the property. The pool was a super cool experience as well, just a pool 5 feet off the ground in the middle of Texas, super cool! Will definitely be staying again!
This place was so amazing . The goats are super friendly and the host was so helpful and easy to reach . We had a situation with my tires & host came down & was super helpful. Loved this place.
We were looking for a place to relax and be with nature, and we got what we wanted, loved the place, it was the second time my wife and I visited the place, we’ll definitely go back again.
Loved this stay! The pictures don't do it justice. The animals are very friendly, the property is beautiful, the pool was perfect, and the cabin was great!
My husband and I wanted a quiet weekend away and this was perfect. No TV or wifi was exactly what we needed. The animals were so fun to watch and very friendly. The pool was clean and an escape from the Texas heat. Lots of places to go for a good meal in San Saba as well as Lampasas. We plan to come back when it is cooler.
Cabin is small and cozy, just what we wanted, so peaceful and quiet. Enjoyed watching the horses and goats every morning and night when they visited the cabin. Took long walks around the property taking in the wildlife and beautiful landscape. Hostess was so nice and friendly, she gave us a tour of her beautiful property. Great place for a few days of rest and relaxation.
A beautiful little cabin on a lovely property with horses and goats wandering freely. Tom and Beth were friendly and accommodating and let us play with the baby goats - so cute! Great anniversary weekend getaway for me and my wife.
A cozy little gem just right outside of town. It's was a perfect get away with the kids. By far one of my top five. The goats and horses are beyond friendly. You can tell they are use to being fed by hand. We really enjoyed watching them play every morning and evening. The pool was a big hit, it's just the right depth. They are some floats and goggles (incase you forget yours) Night time is a different kind of peaceful, star gazing truly an eye opener. Beds were cozy with plenty blankets and pillows.Take my words and don't past this gem. You will not be disappointed.
11 out of 10!! Many thanks to the hosts for providing this amazing and clean place to get away with our dog! The relaxation was almost instant when arriving and the cabin had all we needed, including a comfy bed and soft towels. My husband enjoyed grilling outside both evenings and I’m definitely coming back for some more pool time. Best part? Flora and fauna galore!! Honored to learn more of the history of the land - thank you for sharing The Nest.
Clean, cozy, and calm. Extremely comfortable bed. Great a/c. Great water pressure. Wonderful cross breeze with the windows open. Very quiet. No tv or internet which was exactly what we needed.
Great for a short remote getaway. Cozy comfortable cabin with full shaded porch, grills and firepit, fun local fauna (goats and horses), very responsive and accommodating host, and your own pool a short hike away.
My husband and I wanted a getaway from DFW, this place was perfect! No TV/Wifi which was exactly what we needed. There is still good cell service so you’re not completely off the grid. The cabin is so clean and has everything you need. It was oddly chilly during our stay (Texas…) but we were still able to enjoy nature walks and the super friendly goats and horses. We will be bringing our 2 daughters for our next visit.
This is a great dark sky location for a quiet getaway. It is a very nice down to earth cabin. Just the amenities you need, you feel like you are in the countryside.
The cabin was clean, cozy, and very well taken care of. Inside, you wouldn't guess it's over 100 years old! Check-in was super easy, just let the hosts know via text that you've arrived. Past that, it was peaceful, which is exactly what my partner and I were looking for. Between the animals on site (the horses are GORGEOUS, and the goats are so curious!) and the peacefulness of the seclusion, this is definitely going on my list of "Must Return". Thank you so much, Beth and Tom! You guys were wonderful hosts, and I hope to be back!
This is my second stay at this cabin. If you want a remote place surrounded by nature, this is it. The small goats grazing nearby add to the serenity of the experience. There is a very unique swimming pool for those that come during warmer weather as well. I highly recommend staying here.
Everything about the stay was lovely - the location, the property, the cabin, the backyard and especially the hosts. Beth is a wonderful person and we really enjoyed the tour she gave of the property - highly recommend asking for a tour !
