Beautiful villa in a stunning setting!

We stayed in one of the Vederi villas for 3 nights in July 2017. The booking process was easy and George answered any of our questions very quickly. When we arrived I have to say that the villa exceeded our expectations -it really is beautiful with every amenity that you may need. However the best thing about the villa is its location. It is set in an olive grove and we had complete privacy. There are various seating areas and the balcony affords a fantastic view of the surrounding countryside. Everything is very clean and the bathrooms and showers were top quality. Beds were very comfortable too. The villa is in a quiet area however it is only about 15 minutes drive away from Rethymnon. And if you don't want to go out the local tavernas deliver the tasty Greek food! It is truly a perfect place that we only wish we had booked for longer

Exceptional villa in beautiful surroundings

We had a wonderfully relaxing week at the Vederi Estate. The villa was incredibly comfortable (especially the beds!) and well equipped, and was kept clean and fresh throughout our stay by the lovely Fotini and colleagues. We all loved the pool and the beautiful surroundings and found the villa to be a real haven from the August heat. Prines with it's excellent tavernas is a pleasant 20 minute walk away - we particularly enjoyed the hospitality we were shown at the Olive Tree. George was available to deal with all queries and provided helpful recommendations. We would highly recommend a stay at the Vederi Estate.

It can't be better

Amazing location and property for a chilled out holiday.

We spent a week here as a family of 4 and have nothing but postive feedback from our stay. George the owner went out of his way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The house is very clean and has everything you need for you stay. Our boys loved the pool and the local animals that roam around the estate. We ate out most nights either in the local villages or down in Rethymno where the fish was amazing. I’d not hesitate recommending this place to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday.

Stunning property in the most beautiful setting

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful, spacious villa set on tranquil olive groves. The garden and pool area with stunning views over olives and down to the sea were beautiful and well maintained. George made us feel very welcome and Fotini and her crew made sure the villa was clean and fresh throughout our stay. We also highly recommend Maria who is the visiting massage therapist. Great stay alround!

Beautiful villa in peaceful surroundings

This villa surpassed our expectations. It was spacious, and very clean with a beautiful view to the sea and a decent sized pool. The grounds were peaceful and private. Short drive to nearest town where there were good places to eat. We had a superb holiday here, would definitely recommend.

Tolle Unterkunft und super Gastgeber

Wir hatten eine wundervollen Urlaub! Das Haus ist wirklich schön und gut ausgestattet, die Bilder entsprechen vollkommen der Realität. George und seine Familie sind fantastische Gastgeber, am Ankunftstag hatten wir bereits alles fürs Frühstück, Obst, Wasser und Olivenöl aus eigenem Anbau (auf dem Grundstück befindet sich ein familieneigener Olivenhain). Eine kleine Katzenfamilie hat uns regelmäßig besucht und auch zwei niedliche Hunde gehören mit zu Georges Großfamilie. Eben pures Landleben. Wir haben wirklich überhaupt nichts auszusetzen und danken George, seiner Frau und all den liebenswerten und unaufdringlichen Helferlein für einen unvergesslichen Urlaub :)

An amazingly wonderful holiday, one never to be forgotten

Everything about our holiday was simply outstanding. From our first contact with George he was most helpful and gracious when booking and throughout the holiday itself. When Irene met us at the estate on arrival she was also very gracious and such a warm person. The whole team were exceptionally helpful and served with excellence throughout, both in cleaning and maintaining the property and pool, and also there if we needed anything at all. A welcome pack was provided on arrival, which was such a help when you first arrive from a long journey. The accommodation itself was simply outstanding. Beautifully maintained and cared for, excellent facilities, wonderful grounds and set in a peaceful valley of olive groves. Watching buzzards flying overhead, hearing cicadas singing away, soaking up the incredible peace all around, interacting with the dogs and cats/kittens - it was all just amazing. We had a holiday above and beyond what we could have ever expected, and can only thank George and his team for making it such a memorable stay. We'd have stayed forever if we could. Crete is an amazing island with so much to do, beautiful beaches galore, lots of history to soak up and also wonderful restaurants and dining places. George's recommendations were so helpful, and we are just so grateful to him for providing us with the holiday of a lifetime. We cannot fault Vederi Estate in any way. We will miss it, already do, and hope to return. I can thoroughly recommend any and all of the properties, anyone going here for a holiday will not be disappointed - exactly the opposite, they will be surprised and overjoyed.

Superb villa!

In 25 years we never stayed twice at the same appartment/villa before, but Vederi Villa's made it worth to make an exception. We stayed there in July 2015 for 10 days and came back August 2016. What makes Vederi Estate so special is the hospitality of George, his family and Poppi: the many treats on arrival (moussaka, wine, raki, bread, vegetables and fruits and so on), the way you are welcomed on arrival and waved goodbye on departure, George who is always on hand if there are any problems, etc. The villa's are beautiful with comfortable beds, air conditioning and a lovely swimmingpool (with lots op plants and flowers) that is cleaned every day. We enjoyed villa Calypso the most as its scenery/garden is so beautiful and private. Villa Kyveli is bigger though and has a great extra bathroom with jaccuzi. The villas itself are cleaned every other day. We were surprised to see one day that even our dishwashing had been done!. This year we had some problems with the wifi, apparently due to a new provider (as in 2015 the wifi was definitely excellent), problems that most probably will be dealt with already. We can only recommend Vederi Estate to anyone who wants to enjoy a great value for money, five star accommodation.

Highly recommended

The villa was exactly as advertised, the setting quiet and rural, the house clean, well-appointed, with a lovely garden and swimming pool. The property is close to Rethymno, and an easy drive to its restaurants and tourist district. It's also centrally located in Crete, with major attractions within an hour or so drive. Our host was quick to respond to messages, helpful when needed, but otherwise left us to enjoy the place on our own. Which we did immensely.

Highly Recommended: fabulous villa and wonderful hosts

We had a fabulous stay here. The villa was beautifully appointed and in a lovely quiet location. The villa was spotlessly clean on arrival and was cleaned every few days with fresh towels and bed linen. The village of Prines has a couple of tavernas for when you don't want to venture too far (we loved Gianniko's) and Rethymnon has many fabulous restaurants. A great base to explore the island with George on hand to guide and help whenever needed. Highly recommended!

La situation permet de passer des vacances en famille en pleine nature, au milieu des oliviers (réserve naturelle) dans un endroit particulièrement calme et agréable mais à un jet de voiture des commerces et de la vivante et pittoresque ville de Rethymno. "Back home after a memora...

"Back home after a memorable stay in Vederi villa in Rethymnon. We were first very impressed by the hospitality of George and her mother who cooked us a delicious Moussaka (just perfect service when you arrive very late in the evening). Somehow you feel like in an 5 stars hotel except that you have your total privacy. when we arrive we were welcome by George who did a guided tour of the villa ( place just exceptional with beautiful swimmingpool in a Olives trees forest). During our stay we had the chance to benefit from his garden vegetables and figs. Thanks a lot for all you kindness and hope to come soon again."

We have settled in Rethymno with my wife and son since 2006 after we returned from Manchester UK where I spent many years to complete my training in Dermatology and my Doctorate thesis from the University of Manchester. I love nature, meditation, and music as I am musician myself. Vederi offers me the opportunity to relax and enjoy the stillness with great clarity experienced in the grounds and landscape of Vederi Estate. The flora and horticultural is breathtaking, we also have private gardens with a variety of herbs and spices of Crete. All orchards are to be enjoyed, the organic fruit, vegetables, spices of the Estate.
