Fourwinds #201 is an east corner gulf-front 2 bedroom 2 bath condominium located on the 2nd floor overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. The unit is approximately 1000 sq ft boasting all new wood-like porcelain tile and freshly painted throughout. The kitchen and bathrooms have exotic gray/white tone hand-picked granite and beautiful backsplashes. The condo has a modern, clean-line décor with all new flat screen TVs professionally mounted. The master en suite bathroom has a tub/shower combo. The guest bathroom is accessible via the 2nd bedroom and hallway. Hallway bunks, suitable for children and sofa sleeper in living room makes the unit sleep 6 adults and 2 children comfortably. ****No Monthly Rentals

Fourwinds, a smoke free property, is a 9 story building with 4 units per floor located in Orange Beach approximately 5 miles east of Highway 59 in Gulf Shores. The property has an outdoor pool, hot tub, kiddie pool and BBQ grills. 2 car limit. 25 year age limit to rent.

Fabulous Stay

We enjoyed our stay!

We enjoyed our stay! Towels were scarce… a few extra would have been more convenient with our group of 4 people. Floors need a good mopping too. Other than that, we had a great time and kids enjoyed the bunks.

Everything was in working order in the condo, and there was plenty of room for 8 guests. The only inconvenience was that only 8 sets of towels and washcloths were provided, so we had to wash them every day to have enough to go around.

Nice Location

It's a decent place. The best thing about this condo is the location, it is right on the beach. However, the place was not the cleanest. The master bathroom smelled like urine - it was bad enough that I had to buy sanitizing spray. The smoke alarm battery started going dead two days into our stay. The master bedroom does not cool properly. My husband was walking to the smoking section at night and the property manager shined a spotlight at him...very inconsiderate. Spend your money elsewhere.

The condo itself was clean and up to date on appliances etc. We as a family of 4 grown people stayed in the condo comfortably. The walk to the beach was not bad at all. The only complaint I have is the master bedroom is all the way in the back of the condo (from the balcony) and that room stayed hot the entire time we were there. There was a nice fan provided that kept the air circulating; we just could never get it cool without freezing the others out of the condo. That is not a show stopper for us though...we will be back!!

The pool and hot tub were in good condition, too. I was a little worried before our stay when I read the list of things not provided, but it was actually not a big deal. There was a roll of toilet paper in each bathroom, a roll of paper towels in the kitchen, and three detergent tabs for the dishwasher for our one-week stay. The location of the building was good for us, as Orange Beach seems to be a little quieter than Gulf Shores. The rental company was great to work with anytime we had questions, and we enjoyed borrowing movies from their office, which was a nice perk.

I was very happy with the location and proximity to the beach and pier as those are our two most visited spots. The building was quite and with it being a smaller condominium construction we never waited on the elevators. When we arrived we carried everything by hand to our rooms making several trips without knowing there are carts kept in the hiding holes (would have been good to have a sign letting guests know about this) is my only complaint. The pool was clean and never over crowded with people. Overall this was an excellent place to stay and close to restaurants and grocery stores. There was plenty of parking although the sign for the condo is kind of small and we would just about miss it every time but at no fault of the condo the building next doors shrubs and sign kind of over shadow Four Winds’ sign. Great place to stay and we will definitely be retuning again.

Wonderful Location with a Beautiful View

It is in a smaller building that is very family friendly. The location of the unit puts you one story above the pool and then right onto the beach! It is a corner unit which also makes it appealing. There is a double bunkette built into the hallway which is great for children. Though we were still please with the condo this year, it was not as well kept or clean as the previous year. The unit has a hard time staying cool during the day and the two bedrooms, even with the ceiling fans running at night, are warmer than the rest of the condo. The Rental Company was a highlight in that their customer service and friendliness are top notch!

Love the convenience of a low rise

You won't be wowed by the decor or amenities but it is updated, comfortable and clean with seemingly all that was needed for a 4 night stay. We had 4 adults in our party and didn't feel crowded at all. Nice 2nd floor location made for a quick elevator ride or an easy 12 steps to the lower level. You can probably make arrangements to have check-in info sent via text to you instead of picking up a packet in Gulf Shores which is a little out of the way - that would have saved us some time since our packet wasn't ready (we were early); So they sent us the info about an hour before check in time via text. If you're a hot tub fan, know that the jets don't produce like a normal hot tub - not sure why - more of a hot soak tub...lol. Pool was decent and kept clean. Walk to beach was short and involved no steps - yay! Wharf restaurant across the street was good. Otherwise, you need to drive to eat/shop. Miss it already!

I only contacted the property manager once, they answered immediately. I would recommend this property to friends. We went on the Sunny Lady sunset dolphin cruise after a great dinner at Ginny Lanes at the Wharf. We ate at Doc's Seafood Shack twice, it's on the Bay(good place to take kids, they have a playground in the sand), The Flying Harpoon, The Gulf,(very busy, but, we had great service from the bar and good food), and Tiki Bar at Sportsman Marina. We had great food and great service with a smile everywhere we went. We also went to The Track in Gulf Shores. Everyone had a ball. For those who have never been to the gulf...expect it to be different from the Atlantic. The beach angles down towards the ocean, if you are older and enjoy beach is a little more difficult to manage. We had ages 6 to 82. Experienced swimmers and non swimmers in our group. Grandma was not able to get in the water because of the rough waves. We were there while AGATHA was hitting Mexico. We had a single red flag until our last three days, BUT THE POOL WAS GREAT. The building is not a huge high rise with lots of people, the pool fits the size of the building. For those that enjoy the hot needs some revamping. I personally didn't need a hot tub in 90 degrees. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. I'm sure we will go back to hunt shells, look for hermit crabs, play in the surf and eat amazing FRESH seafood and it was fun to tell a 6 year old we were going to Florida for ice cream!

Great location, but......

The unit itself and the location were fabulous. The only reason this did not get 5 stars was because the cleaning was a bit sketchy. There were things left under both beds from previous guests - bobby pins, hair bands, I don't know what else, because I didn't want to find out. I would have gladly swept them up and disposed of, but there was no broom in the unit. Which I found a bit strange, because you always need to sweep up sand when you're at the beach no matter how careful you are. Therefore, I broke out my clorox wipes and did a scrub down of all the hard surfaces, because it led me to believe that everything else was not as clean as it should have been. The walls are a bit thin, we could here the group in the condo next to ours running up and down the hall early in the morning. We could hear the people above us scraping and moving chairs around at all hours of the day and night. Just a note to let you know that you may hear noise. I do agree with another guest that the ac in does not flow well to the front/master bedroom. It felt 10 degrees warmer in there than the rest of the unit. Also, the dishes, pans and such in a kitchen were lacking. There was only one spatula to flip things and it was metal, so that does not bode well for the non-stick coated pans. I don't believe there were any baking pans/sheets other than one muffin tin and a pizza pan. I made do, but no deeper dishes for cooking baked goods. I don't know if those items just happened to be missing or what, but it made cooking a little challenging. Usually, I have a better stocked kitchen when renting through VRBO. It wasn't worth calling the property manager during our stay, but should be noted for future guests.
