If you need a vacation rental house to stay on your travels or a retreat from the stress of life to a quiet, peaceful surrounding, NorthShore GuestHouse is for you. We are in a rural setting with the nearest neighbor one mile away and out of sight. Located less than one mile from the Marion Reservoir, NorthShore GuestHouse provides lodging to only one party at a time, with your friendly hosts next door. Since NorthShore is barely visible from the host house, guest privacy is assured.To enjoy this quiet atmosphere you will have to drive on about three miles of gravel roads.
We are surrounded by Wildlife and Parks property with over 6,000 acres for public use. Hunting, fishing, water sports, bird-watching, hiking, and bicycling are some of the activities you can enjoy in our area. Come on out and enjoy the quiet country landscape on the deck or around the fire ring in the back acreage.

NorthShore GuestHouse is a 1400 square foot, three bedroom bungalow with a deck overlooking the park lands. The residence had central hear and air, a smart TV and DVD player. There is a bright dining room with comfortable seating for six, a fully equipped kitchen, living room, and a utility room furnished with a washer and dryer. There are one and one half baths; if there are two or less guest the large bathroom will be made available. There is one king size bed and one queen size bed in two of the bedrooms and two single beds in the third accommodating six people comfortably.

The kitchen has a sunny eastern exposure and is equipped with a stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, coffee and tea, glasses, dishware and cooking utensils. In the back yard there is ample space to set up tents.

An electric hook up for one RV is available which is rented only in conjunction with the house. An outside dog kennel and shelter is provided. Campfires are allowed in the fire ring located in the backyard. A large charcoal grill and lawn chairs are available for your use.

We enjoyed staying at the guest house. It had everything we needed! The owners are super nice and checked on us just after check in. The guest house offers plenty of privacy, but the owners are close enough to deal with any issues that might pop up.

Amazing mornings!

This is just the sweetest place. It’s comfortable, spacious, and quiet. Lynn and Charlie made sure we were comfortable and were very responsive to questions we had. We loved making our coffee and sitting outside watching the birds each morning. The mattress were comfortable with quality pillows. The lawn was also mowed and lovely. We all loved our stay and hope to return.

Beyond thankful for Lynn and Charlie

This stay was amazing. First, the home is warm, accommodating, clean and quiet. The property is well manicured with tons of space to run and play. We had a beautiful fire which was already stacked and ready to go. Beds were comfortable, showers were spacious, kitchen stocked. Second, we had the weirdest experience of car troubles. But Charlie was ready to not only allow a mechanic to come and work on the van, but shared an air compressor and tire patches to ensure everything was ready for us to set sail home the next day. We can’t thank this couple enough for sharing their space with our family. It could have been a vacation wrought with stress, but instead, we were relaxed knowing everything was going to be ok. You never want vehicle trouble on vacation, but I know the universe put us in the right place at the right time.

A peaceful and lovely place to stay. Very simple check-in process based on mutual trust. We loved it for a place for the whole family to stay. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed the entire experience.

A great place to stay for our family gathering to celebrate a wedding. The gravel road could be an issue for some vehicles, depending on weather conditions. Lots of substantial rocks on part of the journey into town. Very clean, comfortable and well equipped, in a peaceful location. We enjoyed listening to a couple of great horned owls and saw a flock of snow geese fly directly overhead. Beautiful!

Family Wedding

We stayed for our son’s wedding. Everything was very warm and inviting. Our granddaughters enjoyed playing outside in the large backyard. There was plenty of room for 6 adults and 2 kids. The house was very clean and had lots of books puzzles and games to keep everyone entertained. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area.

The house was clean, very comfy and cozy, the setting was beautiful w lots of big trees and space for kids to roam. Owners were easy to text and quick to respond. The big tub and comfy bed was great! We will return when in the area again!

Charlie and I, Lynn that is, had always wanted to be in the vacation rental business. We had the opportunity to purchase the only other house on our property and decided it would make a great get away for folks. The two houses are not visible to each other so privacy is assured. We have now been in the business 18 years and still enjoy meeting all the new people.

Why they chose this property

NorthShore GuestHouse was originally moved on to the property by Charlie's brother. He planned on living there but it never worked out for him. It was sold outside the family but now it is back in the family and has morphed into NorthShore GuestHouse.

What makes this property unique

Our nearest neighbor is one mile away. We really enjoy the peace and quiet out here and think you will too. We are also in a recreation area; Marion Reservoir. The lake is beautiful and good for fishing as well.

Pets not allowed at NorthShore. If you have a small dog that doesn't shed we can talk about it. If you have a larger dog we can talk about them can staying in the outdoor kennel.
