A lovely traditional house on three floors. Quite steep stairs but manageable, especially worth it to reach the roof terrace. Monopoli is a great place to stay, with many different restaurants and quite lively at night. It has a maze of little streets and a beautiful port, especially at night.

The apartment var so charming. In the middle of the old town «maze» of Monopoli. We had the whole three story house to ourselves plus the roof top balcony. The house was even more charming than the pictures on the web page! The host met us when we arrived and made us feel welcome immediately.

Charming, historic house, two steps from beach and port

We loved this house and felt very at home here. It is old fashioned and homely with interesting pictures and sculptures and some unusual antiques. Everything functioned well and the beds were comfortable. The roof terrace was lovely. Marco, the host, is delightful and very helpful.

Lovely old family home in Centro Storico. Filled with family heirlooms ,carvings and tapestries.Not for anyone who cannot climb 4 flights of narrow stairs on a daily basis.Also not for larger physiques as both showers are a very tight fit.We are fit so these things did not effect our stay.

Chic home near the sea! Didn't want to leave.

The home is in an amazing location in the old town, walking distance to great bars, restaurants and the seaside. The rooftop was our favourite place to enjoy lunches and evening drinks. The home is beautifully decorated and the art in the house is fabulous. The beds were comfortable. If we return to Monopoli, we will definitely stay here again!

Great vacation

Everything was perfect. We enjoyed that very much. I would like to point out, that the apartment has 3 floors and steep stairs so for people with limited mobility it is not a great choice. True is that is apartment has a real charm.

Marco the host was fantastic and very helpful in every ways! The house is fine, old like the area it’s located and basically furnished but functional. Air-con in main living room and upstairs bedroom were working well. Unfortunately the downstairs big bedroom wasn’t available because of high humidity. Would have been great to know before hand as we were 2 couples and 1 kid and had to make some sleeping arrangements because of that.

It is a very beautiful traditionel house with space enough for a couple with a child in one of the best places in the old town. Around the corner you have a Minimarket for daily food and also some restaurants. And a clean beach! The owner is friendly and so we spend a great time there. Very advisable!

Week stay in Monopoli

Location was ideal,and was close to all amenities. Marco sorted out the European plug situation. Also when the shower connection broke,sent a plumber within half an hour.Terrace was lovely, but with steep steps maybe difficult for the elderly or very young children.Lovely place to stay, Marco was a brilliant host, and even gave us a lift to the station,on a Thursday late at night to get our train to the airport.

May 2023 Monopoli

We're 4 ladies from Tennessee, who rotated in 2's and 3's staying in Marco's 3 story home in Monopoli. We walked cliff lines, swam in the Adriatic, found train routes, met fishermen, toured cities, an Olive tree farm & 2 Unesco Heritage sites; all on foot. Old town was both central and convenient as a location. Marco was easy to communicate with by text. We had no problems- though we did find the washer challenging. We took the train to Lecce, Polignano a Mare, Bari, Mola di Bari, Ostuni & Brindisi, or enjoyed a beach day in Monopoli. It was no trouble to hire a car to Alberobello & an Olive tree farm. Matera was an all day train trip, but well worth it. There was no better end to the day, than getting back to our lovely 3 story, Old Town base. We would count the stairs to encourage us, up to enjoy the rooftop terrace, looking out along the coastline and sea. Thank you Marco- we had a great time- miss a -

Not what we had hoped for

Although we were aware from previous reviews that the house was on several levels we were not aware of quite how many levels and how very steep the steps were, it really felt a bit like mountain climbing. However, our main disappointment with the property was that there was nowhere to relax for a family of 4 as on the first floor where sitting room-kitchen is situated there was only a sofa for 2 and dining table with not terribly comfortable chairs. On the top floor where the terrace is situated again only dining table with chairs and no sofas or anything comfortable to sit on. Last but not least we had requested for the downstairs bedroom and extra bathroom to be opened so that our adult kids could have a bedroom each unfortunately there was no toilet seat on this loo, which considering that the owner charges extra for more persons was very disappointing. All in all the property did not feel looked after with several items not working properly. On a plus point the location was perfect.

Historisches Stadthaus mit Dachterrasse

Als dreiköpfige Familie haben wir uns wir uns in dem Haus sofort wohl gefühlt und wurden sehr freundlich empfangen. Die Kommunikation war angenehm und sehr zuverlässig. Das besondere Ausstrahlung und ist liebevoll gestaltet. Die Aussicht der Dachterrasse ist traumhaft und der Weg zum Strand sehr kurz.

Zentral gelegene Wohnung mit Liebe zum Detail

Die Wohnung liegt zentral in der Altstadt von Monopoli und ist hübsch eingerichtet mit viel Kunst. Es ist sehr sauber und die Dachterrasse bietet einen super Ausblick! Marco ist hilfsbereit und hat uns auch empfangen als wir erst spät am Abend ankommen, um uns alles zu erklären!
