This charming log cabin on Flathead Lake is located on the east lakeshore of Flathead Lake in northwestern Montana. The views from the dock are spectacular of both the lake and the surrounding mountains. Flathead Lake is the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi. It covers over 191 square miles with depths over 380 ft. and is one of the cleanest lakes in the world. The cabin sleep 10 people. Swimming, fishing and boating available off of the dock.

The town of Bigfork is a picturesque and charming place. World class art galleries, fine restaurants, a 27-hole golf course, live theatre and unique shops can all be found within a quaint Western setting. Located near by, Glacier National Park, the Bob Marshall and the Swan Wilderness areas are full of wildlife and offer endless recreational opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. Bigfork offers you and your family a part of the West that you will never forget. Many hiking trails are close by the property. The property is split by the highway.

Relaxing family trip for 8

Great time!

No issues with the cabin, everything seemed clean. Little hummingbirds flying around, peter cottontails eating grass, no bear sightings, beautiful clear lake. Love the smell of the cherry trees out front.

Perfect and comfortable Montana Cabin

Perfect, cozy, comfortable Montana cabin. Starting a real fire in a fireplace seems to be an anomaly today. Our family of 10 enjoyed our time together around a cozy fire every evening. I would definitely reserve this cabin again!

Family Time

Whispering Pines was a perfect setting for our family vacation. We were happy to see all of the necessities since the majority of us flew to Missoula so we did not have to do much shopping once we arrived. Convenient locations between Polson and Big Fork and easy commute to Glacier National Park.

Awesome cabin with a great location!

We came to Montana to attend a wedding in Polson, but wanted to venture to Bigfork and Kalispell. Cabin is conveniently located between the locations. Lots of wildlife! We saw a bear in the yard as we pulled up. Deer and rabbits were also seen. The view from the deck was amazing in the evening. The only feedback I have is the ability to see the property sign and entrance at night. My mother in law had trouble finding it. A few bike reflectors screwed to the sign may help. The entire family enjoyed our stay.

We had a great weekend with our friends. The walk down to the lake and across the highway was a little unexpected. One of our members has some mobility constraints, and the walk down was too steep for him to get to the dock.

We enjoyed our time on Flathead lake at the cabin. The lake itself is absolutely gorgeous! The cabin was a little outdated, and there was a musky smell we'd notice every time we came inside...but not so bad that it bothered us. We would get use to it fairly quickly. I would definitely recommend friends and family to stay here.

Comfortable stay

We are really glad we stayed here! Host Leesa was kind, responsive and professional. The house had an adequate supply of bath & beach towels, and kitchen had plenty of spices, oil & cooking utensils. Everything was fresh and clean upon arrival. The rooms and beds were comfortable. The sitting areas are cozy and comfortable. The deck facing the lake was nice to watch the sunset. The house has only one a/c unit but they provided plenty of floor fans to keep the air circulating. The dock and access to the water was a short walk across the highway and down a small hill - this was manageable for us with older kids but I can see how it might be challenging for those w smaller kids or elderly. Very nice property - would stay here again.

Beautiful cabin across the street from Flathead Lake

My family had a wonderful time in Polson. The cabin was well equipped and had the cabin feel I was looking for. I do want to say this cabin was NOT on Flathead Lake. The dock that the owner owns is across the street (a busy 60mph road). I honestly was a little upset as I thought the dock was on the same property of the house. I also wrote the host on July 3rd to ask a question and still haven’t a response. Outside of that we enjoyed the place. I only wish the wording was accurate on the description.

Fantastic location, mind the heat

Great location, beautiful home, excellent price. Just don't plan on being inside the house between noon and dusk. The house faces west with it's beautiful A frame windows which is probably not an issue most of the year but in the summer this means lots of heat. The entire house has a single window unit next to the stairs which is wholly inadequate to keep the place cool. It routinely was in the high 80s mid afternoon through dusk which only got worse if we needed to cook. We opened every window in the house as soon as the sun set and cranked all the fans to 11 but most nights we fell asleep in 80 degree heat. If they add more window units (especially upstairs in the loft) this place would be an easy 10/10. Until then it's a 7.

Late Summer Week at Flat Head

This summer would be our family's 15th summer renting on Flathead lake all at different locations. The layout of the Yellow Bay cabin was very good. Good size bedrooms and enough room for all 8 of us (the youngest was 16 and the oldest 81) to comfortably enjoy. Access across the highway to the private dock was not ideal but it wasn't a game breaker. Overall it had just about anything you'd need for a week away except access to the washer and dryer in the house. In all the years we have rented, we have never stayed a house (no matter what the price was) that did not have a washer and dryer for 8 adults to use. Bathroom,beach and dish towels can only be used so many times before they need washing. It's really too bad that this is not mentioned in the description. That was disappointing and not something you'd expect at this price. Next summer we will find a place on the lake.

Nice cabin with lake access and a very responsive owner.

Great: Cabin is large and layout would work well for multiple ages or families. Spacious bedrooms with nice closets. Kitchen was fully stocked. Owner was very responsive, nice, and helpful. Wifi was great. Property is very nice, we loved the deck and dock. Okay: I agree with other users that it's a bit dated and could use some love, but older linoleum/carpets/washer/dryer aren't deal breakers, especially with the awesome deck and lake access. Bad: King mattress on main floor was very uncomfortable. Two twins with a thin cushion/pad over them was not good. Also, the bed was lined with plastic so it was sweaty and hot. I did not sleep well :( Egyptian cotton towels are a nice touch, but about € of them were musty/stinky. The damage deposit system is wonky. I like getting a refundable deposit and dislike being forced to pay 3rd party insurance.

This log cabin setting is amazing. The view from the dock on the lake and the sunset is hard to beat. The peaceful setting makes for great sleeping. Secluded property is perfect for recharging your soul.

The cabin sleeps 10. Entry on the main level. The main floor is very open with floor to ceiling windows that provide lots of light. The kitchen, dining area, and living area have an open floor plan. There are 2 bedrooms on the main level. One with a king size bed and one with a queen. The bathroom has a granite countertop with a copper sink and tub with shower. The living area has an over-sized sofa and upholstered chair and a 50 inch flat screen TV with DVD. Floor-to-ceiling natural stone fireplaces in the living room. Wifi Internet access included. The kitchen is fully equipped with a pan for every cooking occasion.

The loft has a big open space to spread out with one queen size bed and two twin beds.

The lower level has a living area with sliding glass door entry. Sit in the love seat and enjoy the wood burning stove. The bedroom has a king size bed. One bathroom with stand up shower.
