300 days of sunshine a year, in a village in the ECRINS national park, this tastefully decorated wooden chalet in the Champsaur enjoys a breathtaking view of the mountain range; calm assured. Large garden with trees, a pleasure for children.
In summer: barbecue in the garden; body of water with swimming, kayaking, windsurfing at 5 km; aeronautical sports (paragliding, glider, parachute) and airport for light aircraft in Tallard, hikes in the Ecrins national park, adventure tree, local fairs and fairs; 18-hole golf course and oxygenation center at 10 km, trout fishing in the Drac at 300m, horse riding at Pont de Frappe and Pont du Fossé, donkey rides.
In winter: 5 ski resorts at 10-20mn (Orcières-Merlette 1850, Chaillol 1650, Ancelle, St Léger les Mélèzes, Laye) cross-country ski center, dog sledding, snowshoeing in a wild and extraordinary site .
In spring: skiing in the morning, barbecue in the sun on the terrace in the afternoon. Sauna and fireplace.
In autumn: long walks in the Ecrins park, mushroom picking, horse riding, 18-hole golf course, Scandinavian sauna and open fire.

Super chalet, well situated

As a group of five, we really enjoyed our stay in this traditional style wooden chalet, plenty of room and character, very comfortable living area with log fire. Modern kitchen fittings. Bathroom and shower room plus fantastic sauna to unwind in. Great location with mountain views. Good local walking. We explored two small ski stations close by and larger Merlette resort, 30 mins drive and Risoul resort, 70 mins drive. Cross country skiing possibilities. Easy local shopping for food and excellent restaurant in St Julien 10 mins drive. So a well fitted out charming chalet ideal base for a holiday in this area with lots to do.

Comfortable well equiped house, spectacular scenery

The house has four large bedrooms, which is important to us as we had motorcycle kit and this always seems to take more space than travelling by car. The sloping roof of the two bedrooms located on the top floor, which is really a loft area, can intrude a little. The kitchen is fully equipped and shares the space with the dining room and lounge. This open plan area leads on to the veranda. The bathroom, on the ground floor, is large and contains a bath/shower and a sauna. The second bathroom, on the first floor, has a shower and the washing machine in the cupboard. The front door is, effectively, the garage door. The garage is used as a store area and houses the tumble drier and has enough space for several bicycles, if that’s your thing. The two flights of stairs are narrow and steep, so, be careful when carrying cases and wear some kind of shoes as the stairs are uncovered wood and can be slippery. I thought the lighting, in the lounge area, could have been brighter and could be a problem in the Winter but we were there in June and it wasn’t too much of a problem. All the rooms have electric heaters and manage to dry some wet clothes we had in the first couple of days and should be ok in the Winter. There is a large garden, so, in good weather this can be enjoyed and there is plenty of tree cover for some shade. Extra shade is provided by the roller blind attached to the lower part of the veranda. The house is located in Chabottes and there are no shops but La Plaine de Chabottes, on the main road and within 20 mins walking distance, has a supermarket, bakery and bar and a cheese shop a little further on. There are two more supermarkets and a couple of restaurants 4 miles up the valley at Pont du Fosse. This is where Sandrine, the local representative, has an office. She met us on the first day and efficiently sorted out the bedsheets, towels, where to take the rubbish and other bits and bobs. Overall, I was happy with the house and would recommend it. I certainly enjoyed the stay and the area is spectacular.

Nous avons passé une semaine superbe! Soleil tous les joirs et fraicheur le soir. Soirées barbecues, emplacement au top, et grand chalet typique de montagne avec un bel espace de jeu et détente dans le jardin. Activités equitation pour les enfants à Ancelle, speleologie, canyoning aux alentours. Et la brasserie d'Ancelle avec ses bières artisanales est à tester absolument en fin d'après-midi avec la vue sur les montagnes! Merci beaucoup a Colombine pour sa disponibilité et bienveillance! Maison agréable et de bonnes dimensions pour 7 personnes, bien équipée et confortable, avec quelques petits bémols sans gravité : l'espace repas est un peu juste, de même que la réserve du chauffe-eau (douche froide assurée pour les derniers si les premiers ont un peu traîné !). L'emplacement n'a pas un grand intérêt mais permet de rayonner facilement dans la région et d'accéder très rapidement aux petites stations de ski les plus proches, ce qui est appréciable. Les commerces de première nécessité ne sont pas loin. Région à revoir en été pour ceux qui, comme nous, apprécient la marche en montagne. Bref, bonne expérience pour une première découverte du Champsaur..

Toutefois, nous sommes désolés de savoir que vous n'avez pas trouvé le commutateur du chauffe-eau dans le WC du 1er étage. Superbe chalet familial à 10 minutes des pistes.

Rien à redire! Le chalet est parfait pour une famille nombreuse avec de jeunes enfants ou un groupe d'amis (6 adultes maximum). Il est parfaitement équipé et chauffé. Chacun peut y trouver son espace d'intimité. Un grand jardin pour la partie de foot ou les bonhommes de neige quand la neige est au rendez vous, ce qui n'était pas le cas cette année. Ceci ne nous a pas empêché d'aller skier. La petite station de St Léger les Mélèzes est tout près et elle est très conviviale et adaptée aux familles. En résumé très bon choix.

Beau chalet dans un paysage à couper le souffle

De la neige sur les pistes de Merlette et du soleil tous les jours. Les soirées dans le sauna et devant le feu de bois. Les huîtres dans le jardin le jour de Noël. Nous avons passé des vacances superlatives en famille dans ce chalet chaleureux du chat botté.

Nous avons passee des vacances super. Le chalet est bien situee au millieu de 5 stations de ski. Il y a tous ce q'on veut dans la region, centre commercials, super marchee, etc. Le chalet est tres confortable et surtout tres calme, un lieu formidable pour bien passer des vacances.
