“Petit Paradis” is a perfect destination for the lovers of nature, culture and gastronomy.
Semi-detached holiday cottage in the heart of the Périgord Noir is nestled on the side of a valley, with spectacular views of a Castle and the surrounding countryside. It sleeps 3, so would suit a couple, a family with 2 young children or 2 adults. Private pool (9m x 5m) with beautiful views.The property includes one double bedroom with king size bed and en-suite bathroom with a bath on the first floor; the second bedroom is a small single room situated on the ground floor with a small shower room next door. Both bedrooms have room for a cot. There is a well equipped kitchen together with an open plan living & dining room and a private terrace with outdoor dining and BBQ equipment. Our cottage also offers UK & French TV, DVD player, Wi-Fi, dishwasher, washing machine etc.
We provide bed linen, bath towels and tea towels.
Sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine on a summers evening, watching the spectacular sunsets over the valley and the Château, will give you holiday memories to take away and cherish forever.

Unfortunately, the rating system only allows for 5 stars when evaluating the hosts and the stay. Based on our experience, at least 7 stars would be appropriate. The hosts were very helpful and gave us wonderful suggestions for our outings. We had an absolutely fantastic stay in this beautiful house and would love to come back.

Idyllic retreat

Well equipped, extremely clean gite in stunning location, with Marcia the owner being the perfect host. This was the most peaceful location we have ever stayed in, yet close to all the main sightseeing in this area of the Dordogne. I can't recommend this property more highly.

We loved our stay here. Everything was provided for a great stay . As we arrived on a Sunday no shops or restaurants were open and she kindly did some shopping for us in advance and when we arrived it was in the fridge waiting for us. Nothing was too much trouble . What a wonderful stay at Petit Paradis. The accomodation is better than the pics give it credit fir. It has everything you could want from the accomodation, set in a beautiful part of the Dordogne region. The garden and pool are beautiful, so well kept and enjoyable. Everything you need to relax is available to you in this piece of heavenly surenity.Marcia and her family make you so welcome and are on hand if you need anything and we thoroughly enjoyed the chats and remeniscing with Marcia. Le Petit Paradis is certainly was!!

Le Petit Paradis lives up to its name. It's a stylish, well-appointed gite with state of the art cooking appliances. The gite was so thoughtfully put together by Marcia who met us on arrival and who was on hand but at the same time discreet. Sadly the weather took a turn for the worse and we were unable to take advantage of the lovely pool and generous outside space (we managed a few reading sessions in between showers). The Dordogne area surrounding the gite is lovely and there are many attractions nearby although a car is needed. Marcia's knowledge of the area is second to none and she was an extremely lovely host. Best gite we stayed in by far! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon.

Beautiful location in the heart of the Dordogne with a great view of a chateau from the outdoor pool. Supermarket only10 minutes drive away, nearest town of Sarlat about 40 minutes drive. The host Marcia is very helpful and accommodating, and the gite is spotlessly clean and had everything we required. Highly recommended.

Gîte super dans un cadre magnifique et calme

Un havre de paix. Voilà ce qu’a été pour nous le « Petit paradis ». Nous avons pu nous reposer et malgré la chaleur, nous avons découvert une partie de cette super région ! Les hôtes sont hyper discrets et Marcia très accueillante et dynamique. Le cadre est idyllique et la maison très bien conçue. Même pas besoin de mettre la climatisation malgré la canicule ! La piscine est magnifique et super bien entretenue par toute la famille Nous reviendrons très certainement mais plutôt en mai ou septembre pour pouvoir mieux visiter.

Wunderschöne Tage im Périgord noir

Diese kleine, sehr liebevoll eingerichtete Gîte mit großem Terrassen- und Gartengrundstück, traumhaften Pool mit noch traumhafterer Aussicht auf das Chateau du Peuch ist ganz besonders und perfekt gelegen, um die Sehenswürdigkeiten des Périgord noir in Kürze zu erreichen: das Tal der Vézère und seine Höhlen, Lascaux, Sarlat sowie jede Menge Schlösser und ihre Gärten. Marcia Hill ist eine wunderbare Gastgeberin, die Sauberkeit hätte 6 Sterne verdient, die Küche ist für Selbstversorger perfekt eingerichtet. Das Kinderzimmer ist für einen Teenager etwas klein, was uns aber für die knappe Woche nicht gestört hat. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen bestimmt wieder!

We have been passionate about Périgord Noir since long before we moved here in 2006 with our two daughters. We feel very privileged to live in such a beautiful region with so much to do and explore. It is a real pleasure to share with our guests the knowledge of the area and based on the great reviews we received in our first year our guests agree with us that we live in a “Petit Paradis”!

Why they chose this property

The Périgord is envied the world over for the splendors of its traditional gastronomy. High-quality products used in the preparation of its local cuisine include foie gras, other duck- and goose-based ingredients, the famous black truffles of the Périgord, chestnuts, walnuts (which have been awarded their own Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC) label), and Périgord strawberries, not forgetting the wines of Bergerac (13 of which are AOC), produced from top grape varieties on land that neighbors the “grands crus classés” of Bordeaux and the sweet wine of Mombazillac, perfect for accompany foie gras.
The Vézère Valley is home to some of the richest historical sites in Europe, including prestigious sites, famous Caves such as Lascaux and natural rock shelters. Fifteen of these decorated sites are classified as UNESCO World Heritage Sites also the Valley has a concentration of the most beautiful buildings of the Middle ages and the Renaissance, including castles perched on the rock, villages full of character (10 of which are officially listed among the “Plus beaux villages de France” (France’s Most Beautiful Villages such as St Lèon sur Vézère - 10 min away) and of course, renowned towns such as Sarlat and Périgueux, officially classified as a “Ville d’art et d’Histoire” (Town of Art and History).

What makes this property unique

The unique benefit of “Petit Paradis” is the fact that although we are in a rural setting we are not isolated; having the villages of Montignac 15min away, Perigueux and Sarlat 30 min and so many tourist sites in our door step such as Lascaux, La Roque St Christophe, Maison de Reinac, Grotte de la Grande Roc, Chateau de Losse, Village troglodytique de La Madeleine, Roc de Cazelle, Gardens de Eyrignac, Parc Prehistoric, Grottes de Font-de- Gaume et Rouffignac; not to mention the markets, villages and all the sports available. We can fill our day with memorable activities and come back home to enjoy a good glass of wine in the calm and tranquil surroundings.
