Our Lake Michigan beach home is located in the classic Great Lakes harbor town of South Haven, Michigan. The South Haven area is known for its wide sandy beaches; world-class golf courses; several local vineyards and breweries; outstanding restaurants; big-lake fishing; unlimited boating and sailing; groomed hiking and biking trails; beautiful parks; delightful shopping districts; and other nearby quaint resort towns.

Our home is 100 from the beach bluff - then there about 26 steps down to the privaMNte beach. We share the 120' private beach with 10 other cottages in a small association. The house has a large attached outdoor deck, as well as an indoor porch with lake views. Additionally, there are 2 decks overlooking the beach which are shared with the association.

S Haven Beach House

Lovely home with beautiful views of Lake Michigan and accessible beach. Great trip w family and conveniently located for son (Chicago) and grandson (Milwaukee). Ten home community of wonderful friendly folks w shared beach. Weather was perfect, sailed the 1800’s replica tall merchant ship, enjoyed Mama’s TJM BBQ!!! Highly recommend!!!

First Time South Haven Vacation

We were thrilled to land a home that not only was walkable to the beach, it had a stretch of private beach! Everything was amazing--from the weather, beach, downtown, dining. The home was well maintained, clean and comfortable. The neighbors (the home is part of an 11-home association) were all friendly and helpful.

Unbeatable view

Had a wonderful time here. Plenty of room for four old ladies, a gorgeous view of the lake, quiet beach, and ample nearby shopping and restaurants. If you like to walk, downtown is just a tad over a mile away. Host and neighbors were friendly. Very nice area.

Lovely vacation

The property location with easy access to the private beach was amazing. Jack is a wonderfully attentive host and all our young family needs were more than met. We had the best Lake Michigan summer vacation yet. The north side beaches are more chill so if that’s what you’re looking for, this place is hard to beat!

Wonderful Home

This home is even better than the pictures. It is very clean and has had updated floors, paint and furniture. The view was beautiful!! The host was very communicative and provided entry instructions well in advance. I highly recommend this rental!!

Wish we could stay longer

This was our third visit to the property and it just gets better each time! All new flooring looks great and is easy to keep clean. The owner/host is just the best at communicating and making it easy to enjoy the property. My favorite view of Lake Michigan is from the huge deck here. Can’t wait to return.

Mixed business with pleasure

I was in town for some business and had a family gathering as well. Had a little confusion at check in but owner Jack resolved issue immediately and the rest of the stay was perfect. Thanks Jack.

Family Beach Trip

Our family (2 young children, my husband and I, and my Mother-in-Law) had an amazing week in this home. It was the perfect place for us and the neighbors are incredible. Access to the beach is super easy and even though it is a private beach you are not alone which is great. We had everything we needed and Jack was so easy to communicate with. We didn't need anything during our stay but I knew he was just a text away if we did. Traveling with kids is not always the easiest but being here felt like a home away from home. We hope we can come back next year but if not we will defintely try to come back as soon as we can get it booked. Whatever kind of trip you need this is a place to rest, relax and enjoy beautiful South Haven. Seriously, I can't rave about how much we loved it enough!

Nice Location/Good Amount Of Room/Needs a Makeover

Our stay was pleasant. The weather was nice for this time of year. The home has quite a bit of space and could be used for a a few couples adults and multiple kids. Deck and sunroom were nice touches (could see the lake from both rooms). Home is 5 houses back from the water but it does have a water view. Home could definitely use some fixes/updates. Dishwasher is ancient as is the washer and dryer (dishwasher doesn't get dishes very clean). Shower head needs some help and needs to be more than 4 ft off the ground. Some doors don't open all the way due to wavy floors. We understand its an old house but some doors need shaved to open all the way. The biggest negative is it sits RIGHT on the road and you hear every car or truck drive by while sleeping and they all wake you up. We went and bought a sound machine to get sleep to try and drowned out the car noise. Garbage trucks at 5 (ugh) Taste is a great place to eat and Maria's has great crispy gluten free pizza. Holland has great shops. Playground here in South Haven on the beach was great for the kiddos. Decent place but not for us if we come back to beautiful South Haven.

Great location, beautiful beach

This was a really spacious home with a great layout. We communicated a lot with the owners who were incredibly responsive. Overall we had a fantastic trip. The beach was beautiful and the grounds are very well maintained. Something to note about this property is that it’s a shared association and your front porch faces 8 other homes with a large shared yard. I didn’t initially pick up on that via the pictures although it’s in the description. The pictures make it seem more secluded than it actually is. This wasn’t a problem overall for us, just something to make note of if you’re looking for more privacy. Again, we had a great stay and we were close enough to walk to the pier and downtown and the coffee shop down the road, not to mention being so close to Meijer. I’d highly recommend the rental.
